Name: Emily “Backstabber” Won
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Occupation: MS Pilot
Appearance:
Personality: Emily is well aware of the responsibility of her station, and treats her job as a serious commitment - especially considering her reasons for joining the ESF. As a pilot, she has duties to fulfill, and she'd be damned if she failed to see them through. However, her service is not the only thing that determines who she is. As a person, Emily is well-intentioned and amicable; friendly insults between her and squadmates are not uncommon, not to mention her fondness for a little competition during training exercises. Having faced some of the hardships of military service, Emily knows when to kick into high gear and save the pleasantries for later. She quietly accepts the burden of carrying her own weight, and expects those around her to do the same.
Skills: Having spent a number of years piloting mobile suits, Emily’s prowess in the cockpit is easily identifiable. Extensive training both in and out of the simulators have honed her control over mobile suits, making complex maneuvers almost an afterthought. She is still learning new tricks, however, and it will be a while yet until she reaches the absolute height of her ability.
Emily enjoys the advantages of having a cool head in stressful situations, allowing her to think rationally and act in an advantageous manner. She is analytic and calculating, always surveying her surroundings and making careful mental notes. This enables her to effectively interpret situations in a combat zone and react accordingly.
Equipment:
-Flight suit & helmet
-Standard-issue sidearm
-Case of cigars
-Lighter
Biography: Emily is a Korean-American, born in the midst of the global war to Sung-il and Natalie Won. With the state the world was in, raising a family was a bittersweet notion - while having children was supposed to be a happy time, the world they would be brought into was anything but pleasant. Still, the United States suffered considerably less than other countries, and Emily and her siblings were largely sheltered from the violence. Years passed, and in the final months of the war, Emily's father would be called from the reserves to fight. He didn't make it back home. Only two months after his going into service, the war ground to an uneasy end, with its belligerents battered and worn down.
When the Earth Sphere Federation was created and sought bodies to fill its ranks, Emily enlisted to honor her father's memory, with the hope the Federation could maintain the calm that had settled after the war. Fresh out of college, she was talked into signing on with the Federation's Mobile Suit Academy by her colleagues. Her two years in the program revealed an aptitude for piloting, and high degrees of situational awareness. Now the age of twenty-three, Emily was assigned to the ESF's New Anaheim garrison. Over the next three years, she would see limited deployment, suppressing rebel and terrorist groups formed in the wake of the ESF's rise to power. Most of the time, Emily found herself in the usual guard duty and conducting small-scale patrols.
Last month saw a change in pace when an unidentified mobile suit assaulted New Anaheim, causing considerable damage and chaos throughout the city. Emily sortied to intercept the machine, but it proved to be far more powerful than command could have anticipated. In less than a mere hour, the MS left as quickly as it had come, and Emily barely came back by the skin of her teeth.
Weaknesses: Emily dislikes deviating from a plan on account of others. This could mean having to accommodate for inexperienced pilots, persons with some manner of debilities requiring special arrangements, or simply making up for someone else's incompetence. Not that it's any fault of their own (usually), but Emily likes things done neatly and efficiently, which may not always be compatible with the situation at hand.
There are certain kinds of people that draw Emily's ire. Tryhards, shirkers, those with unwarranted self-importance (especially other pilots), pompous folk, etc. Having to work with others that she doesn't take kindly to keeps her tense and short-tempered, for better or worse. Although she doesn't intend them to, confrontations between her and an antagonist can turn personal very quickly, as she has a habit of comparing herself to others.
~Mech Profile~
Model: XM-02 Den’an Gei
Specialization: Mass Production Assault Mobile Suit / Guerrilla Warfare
Appearance:
Weapons:
-The Den’an Gei is armed with a pair of Vulcans in its head. These serve as a short-ranged defensive measure against small, light targets such as missiles or as a last-ditch backup weapon against other mobile suits.
-The left shoulder of the mobile suit houses a 3-slot rocket propelled grenade rack. Its grenades are most effective against slow moving, heavily armored targets.
-The Den'an Gei is equipped with a beam gun on its left forearm. This is a light, secondary weapon used as a counterpart to its main beam rifle. In an emergency, it can be used quickly as a replacement to its rifle. However, because the beam shield was built right on top of the beam gun it is impossible to use the two devices at the same time.
-A beam shield is housed in the same hardpoint as the beam gun. It can defend against both beam and projectile weapons. The beam shield generates a plane of energy similar to the blade of a beam saber. This plane is divided into multiple sections, which can be turned on or off as needed to conserve energy. Individual sections are also automatically deactivated whenever they're in danger of coming into contact with the mobile suit itself.
-The Den’an Gei wields a beam saber for close-range encounters. It is powered by an energy capacitor that is recharged from special racks. The beam saber is capable of cutting through any metal that has not been treated with anti-beam coating.
-As its primary weapon, the Den’an Gei carries a beam rifle in its hands. It fires beams of mega particles, which can damage any ordinary armor that has not been specially treated to resist it. The weapon is powered by a rechargeable energy cap.
Capabilities: The Den’an Gei is an exceptionally fast and maneuverable mobile suit, with a total of ten rocket thrusters and seventy four Vernier thrusters, giving it a max acceleration of 4.19 G. Because of its speed, it is an ideal interceptor and excels in hit-and-run operations. It is commonly seen in use by elite units.
Weaknesses: The Den’an Gei’s forearm-mounted beam gun and beam shield are built into the same unit, and are unable to be utilized at the same time. To fire the gun, the shield must be retracted; likewise, it cannot fire when the shield is deployed. If the mobile suit loses its beam rifle, it will need to rely on the gun and will lose the protection of the shield as a result.
