Name: Eryx
Age: 16
Description/Appearance: Eryx despite being tall and toned seems very meek. He has black hair he hardly tries to keep that often goes over his misty grey-blue eyes. He doesn't like anything vibrant and his face usually stays blank though he may smirk if he finds something to his amusement.
Personality: Eryx doesn't show much of himself if he isn't facing a person alone. He is mute when encountered in groups and always refuses to answer questions in class. He won't write on a pad despite efforts from others to do such but rather gives stares that seem scared. If scared too much or pushed to anger he reacts in savage combat in a defensive stance but prefers not to be the aggress. He can take liking to a few people and devotes himself completely, listening to them and defending them without word or reason.
Bio: Eryx doesn't talk and therefore nothing about him is really known. He wouldn't speak when he was brought in because of numbers but only put "Eryx" on a piece of paper that was then assigned as his name. He spends most of his time in corners where he feels safe.

I apologize for the double post but I'd like to separate my question from my CS. In the scenario in which iit's accepted, how would you like him to enter? Given the activity and his personal state I thought a member of the staff would have to introduce him and essentially make him join.

My question is why the academy would accept him? If he is unwilling to communicatebwith the others what iS the point of having him?

He will in he's not uncomfortable. As it's put he will communicate fine if he is facing one person but his fear retains to groups of people in general. Talking with, say a counselor, would render results and hopes of potentially getting that communication.

Counter Question however: If the academy is so shady and takes in all misfits why would they not? As far as has been revealed the academy has no actual use for the children so why would they take anyone at all? He's just a misfit with communication issues.

While they are misfits in one way or another they are all capable of anything the academy requires them today. There is much about the academy that hasn't been revealed. As long as he can complete the schedule then he is approved.
