Didn't know these still existed, but first...
A History lesson!
About 10 years ago a stumbled upon an RPG forum, it had typical role playing in it, but it also had stat based combat, you chose your race and class upon registering for the site and that would determine your base stats of Health, Attack, and Magic, and how the would grow as you levelled up, along with what skills you could learn and equipment you could use. You could travel to other regions (which took real time to reach, all tracked by the admin) and take on quests in these areas, OR you could challenge another person to a fight for gold and experience, and if you lost, you were unable to fight again for 24 hours. all in all it was a lot of fun, but then the admin disappeared and...well... it's been 5 years since anyone has logged onto that site.
So today I decided to see if those kinds of sites still existed and to my surprise, they do! AND they have a fancy technical name (Play-by-Post) which they didn't have when I started, we just called them RPGs.
Anyway, here I am eager to get in touch with my inner role player and have some classic fun!
