I didn't realize that there was a Birmingham in the UK! Birmingham in America is a well known city, so my mind just immediately went there when you mentioned it. Where are you from Cat, if not the states?

Birmingham's a complete dump so no, it wouldn't be expensive to live there (I'm sure that it has its posh areas too).

Ah, I am an insert of my character, in the flesh. Accent, looks, little references, whatnot. Perhaps with a different name though, obviously fitting this situation. << The lineage is as she says. Born and raised in Dubai. Parents are from India. Country doesn't offer you citizenship, like most in the middle east, so by nationality, I believe I'm Indian. Just perhaps not as calm as she is, haha. And not grey eyed.
Though she's based very closely off me, sans a few tiny differences here and there that are quiiiite minimal, because I know if I try making up some blue-eyed blonde flirtatious little minx I'll screw it up in less than a day, trust me.

Working on mine. But I really enjoyed France. I collected a lot of snowglobes there. But more than Paris, I loved Alsace. I've been there more, too. Absolutely gorgeous. The boyfriend's actually gone for a two-and-a-half week...err. << Voyage there. To the French! Fun, fun!

I am actually Chinese. Speak it decently enough but can't read or write it for the life of me. I agree with Cat, I enjoyed Paris a lot more than I should have. Thought I was going to hate it lol.

And Flav, no worries. I got a D in Spanish. Hell I took chinese in highschool even though it was technically my home language and still got a B in it! I suck at foreign languages. Period.

Personally, I've always wanted to learn Russian.

Ooh ooh, what a coincidence, I just registered into a French 101 class for this semester. I've never taken French before, and have never really been interested until now, for some reason. Fingers crossed I don't drown in my inadequacy. And I took Spanish from my later half of middle school all throughout high school! I'd say I'm fairly decent with it, but that might be because I'm Filipina and can speak Tagalog, which is basically Spanish but not really. So I guess I cheated...

Anywho, I'll be incoherent for the rest of the night so I bid all of thee a safe and enjoyable evening!

With French, my biggest advice is LEARN YOUR VERB ENDINGS. French is actually quite easy to speak passably in my opinion because word order doesn't have many challenges, and you can fluff nouns by pointing, frenching the english or describing the thing, but without verbs you're getting nowhere. I had a bit of a shock when I spent two weeks in France recently and my French had just died on its ass.

I was going to take Russian and German at uni but took a year out to, among other things, see what dodgy Russia was going to get up to. Thank god I did, because taking languages in UK universities means spending a year abroad in that country, and Russia is not the place to be right now - I transferred to German and Dutch instead.

I unrecommend the Sims 4 character creator having now actually tried it.

Great post, Flavia and Jig. I really enjoy the dialogue between the characters, it's so cute and gives character insight. Also! Flavia, could I ask that you send that picture you've made to me without a hider in a message? I might see if I can do a thing with it, as well hehe.

So now we're just waiting on Biggie and Cal to get their posts in before I nudge us into the Great Hall. I might throw up a little post myself sometime tonight to try out how I'll deal with writing for each of you in the IC thread. And to give those of you who've already posted something to read and/or respond to while we wait for the rest of the gentlemen!
