Jayce was one of the first of the Fae to be born outside Urbaniel. His generation, called the the Generation of Respite, have encountered several new challenges while trying to integrate themselves into the world. For the most part, the Fae have found sanctuary in several Azure cities or countrysides as most races find their triumphant escape from Urbaniel after a curse as old as Sirens themselves quite inspiring. Oddly enough, it is the Angels, Faeries and Demons - all of whom share blood with the Fae - that have such a great distaste for the relatively new race. Regardless, Jayce found himself growing up in the streets of a large Azure city alongside a gang of friends (all punks) of several races that just tried to have fun while barely getting by.

Even at an early age, Jayce found himself attuned to magic. Of all kinds, actually. Although he was most skilled with that of the Wind, he found himself completely capable with every element and even a few combinations thereof. It wasn't uncommon among the Fae. Most of his race could actually control any branch of magic; their appearance would simply reflect their use of it due to what was dubbed the Twilight, ie a mix of Light and Shadow. Ultimately, Jayce gave his magical prowess no real regard throughout his youth, although he did admittedly take it for granted. Few in the world, especially at such a young age, found themselves as proficient with all fields of magic, let alone a single one.

Jayce entered his teens and found romance. He became the evening Casanova of many in the city, and his bloodline made him a favorite of many whom looked for a more tame demon or a sinful angel to play with. It was actually the lustful acts of sin that opened Jayce up to his unique ability to manipulate the Twilight that was merely a side-effect to most of his race. As more women might want a fallen Angel to play with, Jayce found himself able to manipulate his appearance to reflect that. Angel wings and a pure aura surrounding him, he could fool almost anyone. Similarly, he could sway the Twilight to the shadows, growing horns, tinting his skin and darkening his wings. It was this unique and profound ability that caught the eye of Mr. Seil, and led Jayce to his time in the De' Seil Carnival.

At 19, Jayce signed the contract. He wanted to know what he was, and moreover, why he could manipulate the Twilight. His wish was forsimple knowledge. He knew he was Fae, but no other Fae or being in history could freely change themselves as he could. He wanted to know his limits. He wanted to know if he was meant to be Angel, Demon or somewhere in between? Was he just a mutated Fae? Was this because of the unique nature of Fae blood? Was this something new to his race or was this something only he could do? All of these answers depended on his contract. In truth, and this may have been the case for Mr. Seil, he wanted to know the limits of Twilight. Was it just an extension of Faerie genetics, or was it truly a merger of the Light and Shadow? Jayce might be the key to understanding that question.

Although Jayce can manipulate his Twilight, he does actually have a natural status of it. Due to his lustful nature and curious past as a street punk, his wings, are a dark purple with streaks of pink and dots of a green shine. Additionally, his wings are only medium-sized, although this is yet to be a sign of maturation, Twilight impedance or Fae genetics.

When manipulating his Twilight, however, his wings can grow into large, beautiful angelic wings that have a unique pink tint to them. His arua can be dazzling and bright, almost free of taint. Even other angels themselves might have difficulties discerning if he was a real angel or not, to a far greater degree than any Faerie trickster. On the other hand, his wings can also grow large and red, without feathers and reflecting the bestial nature of demons. The aura and scent around him becomes the demonic odor most know and he can even change his skin tone to a darker red and horns as well as claws while completing this transformation. Neither of these statuses, however, are natural.

Jayce has been a run-a-way and free floater for most of his life, living with what was often on his back. He has nothing of actual value, special or significant.

Jayce has had few actual confrontations in his life. He specializes in evasion, running and neutralizing offensive threats. Most of the magic he uses isn't for combat, but for learning or simply to show off.

Jayce is a jack-of-all trades, often assisting where requested. A majority of the time, he is an advertiser and helping hand during shows.

At first, Jayce was conflicted and reluctant to collect souls. Doing so turned him darker, his wings were given black tints. He simply disliked it. Over time, however, he found it easier and decided to never harvest souls in distasteful manners. Most of the time, Jayce performs incredible acts in Azure where he showcases his ability to essentially transform from demon to angel, and collects souls via branding them that way. In such a case, he rarely feels guilt or remorse for his actions as they, of course, were earned through showmanship.

Jayce is fairly whimsical at times. Like the wind, his desires and attitude changes frequently. At times, he speaks with conviction an honor while at other times, he might just wanna get into Ty's pants. Actually, scratch that; the latter might be a set goal of his. IN ANY CASE, Jayce holds freedom high. He hates the idea of being imprisoned or chained to Mr. Seil as his entire race was literally bound to Hell by a curse, but at the same time he is often the subject of special treatment. What he wanted was the same thing Mr. Seil was interest in, thus the terms for his duty was bound short. A mere thousand souls a year is nothing in comparison to others. Jayce is quite prideful in the sense he is already more skilled with the four basic elements at the age of 23 than some people ever get in their lives. In addition to that, he does somewhat have a Messiah complex, albeit it is quite internalized. Part of him oddly believes it is a possible (hopes for might be a better phrase here) that he is somehow the perfect merger of Angel and Demon and might usher in some form of new era due to it. His current goal, alongside collecting souls, is to master the elements solely to conduct another test: can he control the Shadow or the Light? If so, which? Maybe both? These ideas fill his mind with wonder and give him a sense of pride as he honestly believes it is a possibility. All of it centers around the question: what is the Twilight?
