Glandrëch’s ability to link himself to mortals is the only ability he has needed to use, as through these links he appears to be able to control every aspect of one’s existence.
The truth behind these powers is that through physical contact, Glandrëch receives an impression of the past, present and future lives of the mortals he touches. It is not a specific “this is what will happen” vision that he receives, but a suggestive one that gives him glances of significant moments such as peaks in emotion and events of cosmic importance. The visions are principally composed of feeling, disjointed and spliced images, and occasionally words from another time.
When Glandrëch decides that he wants to link himself with a particular destiny, he, through direct physical contact, encases the person’s soul in stone. These encased souls can take on any form, but Glandrëch tends to turn them partially into small Octahedrons that he keeps for himself and partially into the stone rings that he gives to the "husks" whenever he feels it is most beneficial to him. The two objects are essentially the same thing, their only difference being their shape and size. They are not two halves of a whole, but the same entity sharing two spaces simultaneously. If one is destroyed, the other is destroyed, and the human body is rendered a soulless shell. This is how Glandrëch manipulates mortals for his own purposes, and also how Glandrëch ties himself to the souls of any mortal who comes into contact with the shell of a person he is manipulating. Through any form of emotional connection or interaction, giving or receiving any form of will, Glandrëch has the ability to mark the souls of any being known by one of his husks. He tends to leave the more inherently powerful souls alone (demons, angels, faeries), especially in his weakened, mortal state. Once marked, Glandrëch can gain an influence over weak-willed minds (children, mainly) and drive them to madness, or send one of his husks to kill these people. This is how he controls Llewelyn.

She would catch and mutilate local strays and constantly get into fights, all the while showing a complete disregard for authority. She was found by Glandrëch early in her late teens.

Significant/Special Belongings: Glandrëch was known as a collector of all things mystical and powerful before his downfall, ranging from books to trinkets, weapons (Glove of the Wander) to potions, and creatures to people. He currently only has a small fraction of what he once had. (I plan on expanding on what is left of his library over time).

In his prime, Glandrëch’s name was known across all the realms. He was a symbol of chaos and calamity, a boogeyman that mortals spoke of in hushed tones, fearing that the even the spoken idea of him carried some greater power. Glandrëch’s attacks would come without warning. His small but immensely powerful armies would appear without warning inside the walls of whatever city he decided to raze. These were simpler times, when not everything was connected as it is today, and the populations of cities were relatively tame. His army would empty entire cities, taking prisoners and killing the rest.
At first, his bated hunger for power was all that drove Glandrëch to slaughter and expand. It wasn’t until he found an item with power that was far beyond anything he had seen, an item that spoke to him of a universe without realms, that his mind was opened to a new form of thought. The item was a small gem that burrowed inside of whoever touched it. When it happened to one of Glandrëch’s husks, the shell spewed nonsense for several days, and then tore the gem out from within his chest, dying instantly. Glandrëch, for the first time in all of his life, contemplated the gem with interest for some time afterwards. The raids stopped, and his army of husks slowly grew anxious. While he had encountered soul-hungry relics like this one before, he felt something different resonating from this stone. A ancient knowledge that he felt was calling to him. It was after one whole year of waiting, one whole year of husks turning on each other and reducing Glandrëch’s army to a whisper of its once bellowing size, that Glandrëch picked the stone up. It burrowed inside of him the moment he touched it, piercing through his near impenetrable shell as if it were a fruit’s skin. A voice, louder and more intense than anything he had ever heard, spoke to him. It told him of the fabric of the universe, the realms, and time itself. It showed him visions of the past, the present in different realities, and the inevitable end that reality would one day meet.
The husks heard Glandrëch’s agonized screams from within his mansion. After days of this, Glandrëch finally emerged. He announced that the time had come for him to play his part in the history of being. For hundreds of years, Glandrëch scoured the Realms for items of power, cultivating a library with contents that could destroy planets. He kept his army smaller than it once was, equipping his soldiers with the best of the items he could find, and built loyalty and experience rather than numbers. It was when his army numbered 55 men and women he could trust that he made his move.
