Ha. You people.

Post notes are set up. I just have to grind it out Tuesday (today). Good news everyone: missions are basically done. Meaning character upgrades are right around the corner, along with new missions.

@Everyone: First wave of missions completed! Here's how things will go from here.
Schedule
Saturday 30-Monday 1: New mission roster will come up following an event.
Saturday 6-Sunday 7: New mission roster's IC posts will come up. It may or may not include battle maps right then, but battle maps will be present during battle sequences.
Upgrades

Regular: In case you want to continue to pursue and upgrade your current class, and not a new one.

Multi-classing: Add the class' base (beginning) stats. For PIlots this means the starting mech, for Grunts this means two weapon mods and two pieces of advanced training, for Listeners this means two mutations from the same archetype.

Then add one of these, depending on which hybrid you are.

Note: If multi-classing seems a little weak, it's supposed to be if you decide to do that early on instead of hunkering down and focusing on a single class. Keep in mind also that you get all the base benefits of that class too, so your upgrades are minimal to account for your power growth spurt.
Achievements

Achievements will be added later, likely tomorrow, as I have to go to work and I'd rather not rush out character-defining aspects. Though quickly for Kiku, your character will be getting a mechanical arm.
Vehicles/Universal "Scrap"/Etc

If you want something, let me know and we'll work it out. Think more stuff to customize your character, less to make them superior in combat. Stuff like a motorcycle or a jeep or etc. Assets will be coming soon as well, I need more time with them like I need with achievements.
As always if you have any questions, just ask. Until then, I just wanted you all to know that your loyalty and patience is immensely appreciated. No, really, I mean that, like I asked who was still here and within 24 hours I had 13/15 players immediately respond to me, either here in the OOC or over IM's. Just. Wow. Thanks, everyone. This one's for you.

Nathaniel's upgrades are as follows.

Upgrade Synaptic Parasite
Add Charming Aura (this is cumulative with the diplomacy bonus of Too Innocent To Kill, right?)
Custom mutation - Divine Flesh: Nathaniel's body, having experienced its first real life or death combat with a gun, has adapted to improve his odds of survival. The muscles and nerves throughout his body have changed and become better than they were mere days ago, and even his brain has gotten a bit of a boost. Nathaniel's reaction time has improved greatly over that of the average human, to the point that he can start moving out of the way of an attack at almost the same instant as his opponent starts to move, and when he decides to attack without warning he is quick enough to almost always get the drop on his opponent. In addition, his hand eye coordination has improved and his hand and arms are far steadier than they used to be when holding a gun, which is a great boon to his accuracy in firing. (Bonus to reflexes and gun accuracy) (Mutation effect: The veins in Nathaniel's hands and arms now stand out very clearly and vividly through his skin, and they appear red instead of blue.)

Just letting you all know system updates are on the way. For example: LMG and SMG main weapons for grunts. More on that later when I'm not at work.

Technology Marches On: All pilots are now equipped with a pair of nanotech gloves which have wireless technology. State of the art, these gloves allow them to attempt to hijack the controls of an opposing mech at short range, and grant them access to a small, mechanized companion. This can be anything from a small aerial gun drone to a robotic puppy. Their "companion" has two ability slots and so long as there is no interference in the gloves, will obey every command given to them.

The gloves are also quite hardy and thick to protect the nanotechnology, however, they aren't indestructible. Given that you will typically be wearing these gloves however, if they are damaged, it should be noted that the amount of force or heat to damage them will likely completely wreck the user's hand. So it's only a small concern, so long as the technology isn't hit with an electromagnetic pulse or other similar device-ruining weapon.

Bruceys planned Upgrades.
Ignis Dei
1x: Shoulder Slot; Right Shoulder;
1x: Minigun (Mounted to Right Shoulder, head-tracking.)
1x: Extra Arm Slot; Left Arm;
1x: Chainfist (Mounted to Left Arm)

"Companion"
Aliquam Ignis Dei

(Type: Tracked Drone)
Standard Scanning Package
Drone Narrow Beam Laser

A few questions, Brovo:

1. Can I only upgrade my main weapon (shotgun) as a Grunt, or can I upgrade my side pistol to make it more effective instead?
2. For clarification, every PC has their own apartment and they're all living in the same complex?
3. What does my promotion mean in the story besides the gameplay element of being able to officially order NPC soldiers?
4. Will promotions and rank in general play a major part in later missions?

All right, so I think I've decided on some upgrades for Marvin. At the moment I'm planning on a more horizontal (more guns, slots, etc) approach before going vertical (better guns, tech, etc).

Thus, here's what I have.
1x Right Shoulder Slot (both shoulders if at all possible). Shifting the HE Missiles there.
Installing a .50 Calibur Mini Gun in the Right Arm
1x Torso Slot. Installing a Motion Detection Package.
1x Back or Torso Slot (not sure which I want to do)
1x Invented Item:
Drone Deployment and Control Center: This package, about the size of a small backpack, allows for the deployment of aerial drones, controlled by the pilot's glove. Drones are stored inside of it, which recharges their batteries and protects them from onslaught. It's current capacity is only one drone, but can be upgraded to hold more. Also comes with the programming make use of the cameras aboard the drones.

Speaking of the Drone...
Valkyrie Mk. I:

Type: Aerial Drone
Equipment: Drone Sub Machine Gun, Video Cameras (Ability to see in any direction at once).
Description: This rather simple drone design has often been cited as little more than a gun with a helicopter on it. However, this drone is highly prized for it's mobility, being able to get into places that would be highly hazardous. Perhaps the most striking aspect is not it's weapon, but rather the camera that Marvin placed into it. This makes it a valuable scout, able to see dangerous areas before sending in the more vulnerable (and valuable) humans. With the Drone Deployment and Control Center, the pilot can see everything the drone sees.

Ability Gain:

@Everyone (Especially Grunts): I added Light Machine Guns and Submachine Guns to the custom weapon selection. If you want, you can exchange your current weapon to a new one for free, along with weapon mod changes. It's been pointed out to me repeatedly that these things are missing. NOT ANYMORE!

Stuff like grenade launchers though will still be custom mod territory.

Matthew upgrade:Upgrade mutation: Feather BonesNew Mutation: Muscle StimulusNew Unique Mutation: WIPNegative Mutation: ?Must have mutation: In Forma, Quod Puritas:

Feather Bones
--Gas sacs (Rank 2): An evolution on the existing mutation, gas sacs are found all over the body, though most prominently in the limbs. These small sacs create small bumps on the skin that can be seen by the naked eye though can be hidden by clothing. They draw air from the lungs and store it, allowing the Listener in question to fall slower, jump even higher, or even make course adjustments in flight. At this point the Listener could jump to the top of a two storey building. Repeated use and abuse can easily fatigue the user, however. (Even faster movement, greater jump height, can survive greater falls, moderately improve defense while airborne.) (Mutation Effect: Visible bumps on the skin where sacs are located, unusually deep breathes with unusually shallow exhales from time to time.)

Random Mutation
Impulsive Paranoia: Mathew will sometimes twitch or spasm uncontrollable when faced with danger. This can sometimes save him from harm with an instinctive dodge, and sometimes ruin a perfectly good shot with a firearm. (Sometimes beneficial: Instinctive Dodging. Sometimes negative: Panic shots.) (Mutation Effect: Twitchy in combat.)
Heyitsjiwon said Hmm, what happens if I upgrade HE Training more? More explosives? Can I make bombs o.o?

Suitcase Explosives. As in, the kind that level city blocks.
Raen Elvarasi said What would the Chameleon Upgrade be?

Wall crawling, likely. The ability to stick to any surface.
Jorick said Nathaniel's upgrades are as follows.Upgrade Synaptic ParasiteAdd Charming Aura (this is cumulative with the diplomacy bonus of Too Innocent To Kill, right?)Custom mutation - Nathaniel's body, having experienced its first real life or death combat with a gun, has adapted to improve his odds of survival. (Bonus to reflexes and gun accuracy) (Mutation effect: The veins in Nathaniel's hands and arms now stand out very clearly and vividly through his skin, and they appear red instead of blue.)

Synaptic Parasite
--Familial Legacy (Rank 2): Parasites can now travel a small distance independently to attempt to sneak up on and take over a host. They can also be thrown akin to grenades, however the parasites are quite vulnerable. The parasite now also has a 'kill switch', if someone attempts to remove it from its host or on command of its master, it will snap the spinal column and kill its host. Parasites can now attempt to dig into the host body's memories to find secrets and transfer these memories telepathically to the Swarm mutant, but this also gives the host a chance to overpower the parasite for a few moments. (General upgrades.) (Mutation Effect: Cockroaches and other insects are drawn to the swarm host.)

The diplomatic bonuses are somewhat cumulative, yes, though designed for different purposes.

Pick either the amazing reaction times or the accuracy bonus.

Random Mutation
The Voices: Nathaniel has noticed that on occasion he can hear the voices and conversations of entities within the Shadow Zone, even miles away back in Bunker Chicago. The only issue is when this happens, he has no way to discern or filter the voices, and so thousands of voices ring through his mind, some louder than others. This can induce nose bleeds and cause him to hallucinate. On the other hand, this can also give him extremely valuable intelligence about what the enemy is about to do. (Mutation effect is clear) (Mutation Effect: While in this state he very visible sweats and his pupils envelope the entirety of his eyes.)
More to come later when I can get home from work and get some good ole' sleep.
