Darren had kissed his mom goodbye that morning, and tickled his little sister, Masie. He had even told them he loved them. But he wasn't prepared for what had happened. He wasn't sure if he even knew what had happened and he sure as hell didn't understand what happened. Basically, in a nutshell, his small town, Chester's Mill, was isolated from the rest of the world by a giant see through bowl. He had been walking to school when the whole thing happened, he went to a private school in the next town over and Darren lived right on the edge of Chester's Mill. He was heading out the door right when the dome came down and watched a car run into it, the dome didn't even move. Darren had ran to tell someone when the lady next door told him there was an announcement on the radio about the dome.
Darren was now in the cafe, the only restaurant in Chester's Mill. He'd been there since this morning, and was currently help serving coffee.

"Are you sure your alright?" "I'm fine, go out and go to your friends." "If your sure...." "I'm sure, now go. I demand it." Cat kissed her father on the head before she stood from her kneeled position by his bed. She then walked away from him to the door before she looked back at him once more. She then left him in peace. After leaving the house she looked around her. The town she loathed so much. Now, she was stuck with it. There was, after all, a giant dome around the town. No one could come in and no one could leave. She had been with her father when it happened. She heard a loud noise and ran outside only to find out from a random person that there was a giant dome around the town. Who knew how long it would be there? She could be stuck here. She then shook away her thoughts before turning on her heel and walking to the only restaurant in the town.

When she got there she saw it was pretty crowded with people being served coffee. She didn't bother to look at anyone, causing her to have no idea as to who was there, and walked to a table that wasn't taken and sat down. She was trying to think of explanations as to how this even happened.

John was buying Twinkies when it happened. When it came down. They were right on the edge of town. Maybe 70 feet from where it came down. The gas station manager ran outside to see what had caused that shake. Then the radio sputtered to life, uttering a message that talked about a town meeting at the local coffee shop. John took a few of the others, most of them his friends, and made his way to the coffee shop. He wanted to know what had happened. They all did. He and his friends sat down at an empty booth and waited for whoever was in charge to start talking.

Jim Halsey pressed his foot down on the gas pedal, ready to get the hell out of Chester's Mill. He had only stayed the night, to rest, before his long drive to California. He pushed the thought of his lonely brother and drunken father out of his mind. This was the first day of the rest of his life. As he neared the edge of the city, the blissful music flowing from the car radio suddenly cut out and an alarming message replaced it. It told of the seemingly invisible dome that had spontaneously covered the city and was a huge danger to anyone who even dared to go through. "Just great," Jim growled, slamming his hands down on the steering wheel and pulling his car over to the side of the road. This was insane. It had to be a joke. To inquire about what was really going, Jim reluctantly started up his car again and headed towards the nearest public place - a coffee shop. Angrily, he parked his car out in front and paced into the coffee shop and glanced around for anyone who might know anything.

Bridget Holt had gotten up this morning like any other morning. Damien jumps into her bed. Stares at her until she wakes up. When she does wake up, go start the coffee. Cook toast and scrambled eggs for her son with a glass of orange juice. Shower. Get dressed in a simple structured black dress with an open white blazer. Get Damien dressed. Curl her hair and apply some makeup while Damien watches a cartoon and plays with toy cars. Slip into some heels, put a jacket over Damien's tshirt and jeans. Get everything loaded in the car and head for the daycare across town. Today wasn't going to end up like every other morning however. After Bridget dropped her son off at daycare and headed to the high school where she worked as the History teacher, she turned on the radio. Blaring through the speakers was a warning about a... dome? What were they talking about? This had to be something like War of the Worlds... a prank. But Bridget was hesitant. Furrowing her brow she cautiously drove close to the edge of town and before she could even park to get out and see what was happening, a bird ran into some... invisible wall and fell to the ground. From inside her little blue prius, Bridget went wide eyed and open mouthed, not understanding. But whatever was happening, she needed to know more. She hoped Damien would be okay at daycare for now as she pulled into the nearest restaurant she saw with tvs, and stepped inside. Simply standing in the middle of the floor of the place, she stared up to a tv, the local news channel reading off a report on the strange invisible bowl over their small town.

Jonathan and Monet were on their way to the grocery store, just like every other day. Jonathan had to drop his sister off at work before heading to his own outside of town. They were halfway there, just passing the cafe when they heard what had happened on the radio. Of course, they couldn't believe it at first, but decided to turn around and go inside anyways. You can never be too careful. When they walked in, Jonathan instinctively put his arm around her shoulder and led her to a table. They had to walk around some lady that was standing in the way, staring up at the television.

Irene hugged her mother and smiled at her as she waved goodbye, now walking around and then she heard a radio going out. A meeting was happening on the coffe shop, as she crossed her arms close to her chest, now walking towards the shop, her outfit was for the day, school and all. Her hair wasn't tied up into a bun, it was straight and long. Irene ran a hand through her hair, she was a bit different, seeing that her hair was half brown and pink at the bottom and she was korean. "Hmmm." Irene entered the coffee shop and noticed John as she waved at him, hello.

John waved at Irene, a girl he had met a little bit back. He had met her one day in Zenith and they had stayed friends, grabbing a bite to eat every time she was in , the city. He waved her over, smiling at her. His friends eyed him suspiciously, wondering who this newcomer was that he was inviting over, but he ignored them. He had been listening to the T.V. and it sounded like they were stuck.

Irene looked at John as he waved at her to go to him and his friends, which made her blush alittle but she shooked it off walking to John and smiling at him. "Hey John..." she said calmly and looked back at his friends as she bowed her head. "Hello there. My name is Irene." Irene nodded and then turned to the T.V. "stuck...?"

Jim glanced around at all the people that appeared to be gathering at the coffe shop. Was there some sort of official meeting he wasn't aware of? It didn't matter. All Jim cared about was getting out of Chester Mills and getting to California. Anxiously, he tapped a woman who was glaring up at the tv on the shoulder. "Excuse me, miss? Do you have any idea what's going on?"

Bridget was taking in the news, ignoring those who gave her side glances as they entered the place, obviously wondering why she was just standing there or annoyed she was in their way. She suddenly felt a tap on the back of her shoulder and jumped slightly, turning around to see a man she hadn’t met before with shaggy brown hair. He stood maybe 2 inches taller than her and couldn’t have been older than 20 if she had to guess. She smiled a slightly nervous smile and gave a little shrug. “Honestly yes and no. I heard on the radio about some invisible force field around the town but I have to admit I don’t understand it… I can’t say it’s a hoax though. I drove to the edge of town and,” she paused, thinking she probably sounded crazy. “Well, I saw a bird smack something midair and die and I don’t know how… unless this ‘dome’ thing is real,” she finished, looking unsure of herself. The last thing she wanted to be perceived as was crazy, but this thing was even on the news so if she was nuts, so was everyone else at least.

"Jesus," Jim muttered softly under his breath. He couldn't believe this was real. He looked to the woman who had given him the information and sighed heavily. "I gotta get to California....in 3 days. I dont have time to waste." He didn't know why he was telling her this. Why would she care? "Thanks for the information."

Bridget nodded sympathetically as the man explained his situation, imagining he wasn’t the only one who needed to get out of here in a hurry. “No problem,” she said as he thanked her. She kind of felt an awkwardness come between them and she hurried to remedy it by extending her hand. “I’m Bridget by the way. If you’re stuck here for too much longer you might need to know someone in town,” she shrugged with a friendly smile. Figuring if he was here to visit someone he’d have asked them for info, not her.

Jim smiled back at the woman who called herself Bridget and firmly shook the hand she had extended. "Thanks Bridget, I really appriciate it. My names Jim," he introduced himself before pausing to add more. "So, you live around here?" If this dome, whatever it was, remained he would need an acquaintance - someone to stick around with. Usually he was a one man show, but he had yet to encounter anything like this.

Bridget internalized the man’s name and nodded as he asked if she lived in the area. “Yeah just a few blocks over from this shop actually,” she said chewing her lip as she wondered why exactly this weirdness was happening here of all places. It seemed so random. As she was pondering it, more people from the town started entering the diner, including the daycare kids. Her son ran up to her and Bridget petted his head as he simply clung to her. Damien didn’t talk a whole lot especially when strangers were around. “Damien this is Jim,” she said in case Damien wanted to say hello. Her son simply nodded though and Bridget looked back to Jim. “My son,” she shrugged, wondering when they were going to learn exactly what was going on here.

"Hey there," Jim gave a small wave to the toddler that was now clinging to Bridget. Looking around at the amount of people that had accumulated at the coffee shop, he had a feeling something was about to happen. After all, he was sure everyone else was thinking the same thing he was - what was going on?

Paul was sitting in his patrol car just outside his house, he lived a road or two away from the police Station and was yet to start work. He was pouring some coffee into a flask to drink through-out the morning. That's when some locals tapped his window, and he rolled it down to listen to them. They talked of an invisible wall, and Paul thought they were crazy. Probably high on some drug or whatever, that was until he switched his engine on, and turned on the police radio, which buzzed with emergency calls, and an announcement to meet at the cafe. Paul headed to the cafe, giving the locals who he first thought were crazy a ride there. Paul was in the dark just as much as the rest of them.
