_________________________________________________________________________
Welcome to Academy 218: The Seeds of Change my newest super-power RP for the RPG. This RP was something I started on an older RPing site months ago, however, the site is in a decaying state, and I have decided to try to restart the RP on fresher grounds, with new people. That said, this RP is a brand new story. This RP will be the usual, ultra-generic superhero school setting - With the cast being people invited to a school. Featuring nothing truly new about it. First things start off bright and sunny, until it all falls apart. This RP is focused heavily on character interaction, development, and personal dramas of a super-human high school with more secrets than you can count. With another focus on the characters improving their powers and getting much stronger than ever before.

Academy 218::
_________________________________________________________________________
Academy 218 is a distant Academy for Genetically Gifted Americans. It is located on a massive, entirely artificial, island. Which makes escaping from the place near impossible. The island has a artificial forest built into it. The forest has plenty of wild life of all sizes and classes, the kind of animals you would see in a forest. Insects, mammals, there might even be bears. On the center of the island is the Academy itself. The Academy is several buildings all linked together by several roads, which all lead into the docks. This Academy has been given top of the line funding, for reasons unknown - Since usual Academies for Genetically Gifted are usually given "average" funding or less. This Academy has top of the line training equipment, teachers and looks very good. This Academy specifically is easily one of the best Academies out there and many of the students that come here are deemed trained. The Academy looks like a palace - One that is reserved for the richest and kings. There are paintings and works of, high-end furniture, and many more, around every corner of. Giving the place a distinct beauty. This particular academy is divided by the students. Divided up into several gangs, cliques and just groups of students - For various reasons, and for various causes. Students that newly arrive tend to bunch up and form groups of their own.
Walls: There is a massive wall surrounding the Academy building to keep the wild-life out. This is called the Inner Wall, and it's a few meters higher than the Academy itself. This wall is thick enough to contain walkways inside, and easily withstand heavy damage. There is a massive metal gate that opens to reveal the Academy - As the walls are high enough to easily block the Academy from outside sight. There is a distance of one and a half miles between the Academy and the Wall itself. Creating one clear plain. The walls are accessible by the students, and contain several doors to head out into the wildness of the island to explore.
The school is separated into 4 separate Wings, each with their own set of buildings and specific purpose.
Administration/South Wing::
Reception: It is the main building in the academy. This building contains several important locations. First there's the main hall. This room is very large, and has several marble pillars on the left and right sides of the room, leaving the center of the room devoid. At the opposite side of the entrance is the main desk. Which is a large circular desk, with several computer monitors mounted on top. One may notice that many wires run beneath the desks, where the computers themselves rest. Usually there is one Front Desk Worker, answering questions about the school and offering directions. The upper floors of the Reception Building contain offices that log just about everything (Namely the students, and all information pertaining them). With the Headmaster's office at the very top. Another room contains the Auditorium where speeches are given to students. The Auditorium is massive, and looks exactly like such a room would. The Auditorium is also used for plays and the such.
Docks: The Docks are an area located on the southernmost part of the Island. The docks are a massive complex where various boats are stored and maintained. These boats are used to haul students both in and out of the academy.
Shipping Office: Since the island is a secluded location with no factories or ways to effectively produce anything, the island has to get supplies shipped in. Which is where the Shipping Office comes in. Boats come in with goods, the goods are held here before distribution to the rest of the school. This is also where mail in and out of the island gets dealt with. Attached to the office is a large warehouse which is set up like a maze of large crates and shelves and shelves of boxes. Students are barred from entrance, but like the Ruins, it becomes a location for less than legal operations.
Domestic/West Wing:: On the West end of the Academy is the Domestic Wing. This wing of the Academy is where the basic needs of the students are fulfilled.
Student Dormitories: The Dorms are the first location of note - As it is the largest section of this particular wing. It's set up as you've probably expected: hundreds of individual rooms for every student. These dorms are separated by several factors. The Wing has multiple floors, depending on what year group they are in. Students aged 8-12 are on the bottom floor, 13-15 above that, 16-17 above that and 18+ on the top floor. Each Dormitory contains two beds, a private bathroom, storage areas, a television and a computer. Because the Academy wants students to get to know each other Room-mates are a must. The Student-Dormitories also contain rooms such as the several student lounges.
Staff Dormitories: A mirror building to the Student Dorms - Made exclusively for the staff members, both buildings are connected and not too far a. This building is smaller than the Student Dorms, but looks much nicer. The staff members get more advantages that the students get. Such as larger Hotel-like rooms, containing what students don't have. Students usually aren't found in the staff dorms.
Cafeteria: Connected to both dorms are the Cafeteria. The smallest building in the entire wing. As the name suggest, this building is where students and staff-members get fed Daily. The Cafeteria contains finest cooks available. Bringing the students the finest food Academy 218 can offer. They can also create just about any dish the students desire. The Cafeteria is closed off by students by nightfall.
Library: The center of independent self-learning. This building is massive and loaded to the brim with what seems to be every book known to man. The tall bookcases tend to form a maze that students can easily get lost in. The Library is closed off by students by nightfall.
Gym: The center for independent-exercise. The Gym is a medium-sized building that contains many rooms. These rooms contain plenty of equipment for exercise - There's a few places for sports, such as basketball courts. There's even an indoor pool (Heated). The gym is sometimes used for classes.
Hospital: People get hurt fairly easy in the Academy, which is why there's a massive hospital made to hold hundreds of people at a time. The Hospital is fully equipped with high-end medical equipment and staff. People are guaranteed to get healed the moment they step into the place. The Hospital is opened 24/7 and is always ready for a medical emergency.
Detention Center: A sad fact about the academy is that there's many trouble makers. Which is why there's a massive detention center made to hold those students for an specified amount of time. There are cells specially tailored to hold certain kinds of powers. Each cell is made to withstand a nuclear explosion.
Park/Lake: Not exactly a building one could say. It's a large expertly crafted road with trees and other plants placed at the right location to add to the atmosphere. The park is where students may go on jogs, or generally a place to reflect on past decisions. The park also contains various locations for sports and activities. Such as a Foot-ball field, a basket-ball court - It even has a large playground for the younger students. Somewhere in the park is a large artificially made body of water set up like a beach. Known as the Lake. This lake is of clean, clear, fresh water which is constantly cleaned and filtered with the underwater filterer technology. Surrounding the lake is at least half a mile of a sandy beach, with concrete pathways inside of the sand. This place was made to be another place for students to kick back and relax.
Shop: Students at the 218 have money. Money that they could use to buy whatever they please and help fund the Academy. So a store was recently constructed and stocked with whatever a student may need. Food, clothes, games, you name it. The store is a large, three floor building. It is similar to a mall in terms of layout, with several smaller stores within the building. The stores are constantly stocked with the best wares money can best. However, they are quite expensive.
Cafe: The cafe is a small building not too far away from the dorms. It serves as an another option for students to connect other than the dorm's student lounge and the cafeteria. There the building is a one big room with plenty of tables and chairs elegantly put together. On one side is a counter where coffee and other treats are ordered. The scene appears classy, and very moody. With jazz music being blared, providing atmosphere.
Plaza: Located at the very center of the school is the Plaza. All the pathways start at this very location. It is an alternative hangout to the student lounge and the cafe. The Plaza is a square shaped and has many chairs and tables surrounding a large fountain. This isn't just any fountain, it doubles as a ice-rink, as it's large and circle shaped.
Garden: The Headmaster commissioned the Garden. From a bird's eye view, it is dome shaped, and made out of several layers of glass panels. It is an enormous construction that has the typical appearance of green-house. However, inside of the building has more of a park-like/forest appearance. With the trees and plants separated with concrete pathways. There's even a pond where water-grown plants are located. The Garden, as the name suggests, has many different kinds of plant-life. Flowers, trees, and so on.
Tower: The tallest building in the Academy. It eerily towers over every other building in the place. It's modeled after the Big Ben and shares a similar design. Except it matches the same theme as the rest of the school. There's no clock at the top, rather than a very large bell that's attached to a system that's used announce when curfew is and isn't in effect.
Education/East Wing:: On the East end of the Academy is the Educational Wing.
Educational Building: Here, all the classes you might expect a school to have are held, including Science, Maths, English, Languages, Music, Art... This is to make sure that the Academy can give the best education it can provide.
Laboratory: This building is essentially a lab where everything is researched. With all the tools available anyone with techno-pathy or super intelligence that they can invent and discover things far ahead of scientists in the outside world. There's several rooms here and chemicals. However, this place is easily the third most secured part of the school and locked to those who aren't authorized. It's difficult to get inside.
Gallery: Basically a museum created by the Headmaster to host art from all over - Often art pieces created by the students and their powers. The building hosts art pieces created by students, should they be up to the standards of the committee. Around the Gallery is a small garden where several sculptures are being held.
Training/North Wing:: On the North end of the Academy is the Training Wing.
Training Hall: By far the largest building. This is the point of the Academy. A massive structure where powers can be honed by the members of the staff to perfection. This building contains hundreds of rooms, specialized to specific sets of powers. The Training hall also houses the "customizable" obstacle course, shooting range, and the simulation room. The building is heavily armored and nearly impossible to destroy. Which the students can visit in their free time.
Proving Grounds/Arena: One of the most defining aspects of the Academy. The Arena is a building made for students to combat each other under supervised conditions. The Arena is also essential to graduating from the Academy, as every student must enter the arena to test their abilities regularly. It is not a matter of winning or losing, it's how they act during the situation. Students can challenge each other to the arena - Students can even challenge staff-members, as well. Once the challenge has been accepted both students will duke it out until the match is over - Usually with a victor championing over the other. However, these aren't death matches, and any students that gets too rough/violent will be sent to the detention center.
Other Locations:: Various locations that aren't in any of the wings.
Underground Network/Tunnels:Exactly what the name suggests. Throughout the island there is a massive maze-like complex. The network is extremely dark, and easy to get lost in if one doesn't know their way around. The Network contains several locations such as a storage, armory, etc. The Network is strictly closed off to students at all times. There are a few horror stories every now and then of staff-members finding students dead in the network. There are much more to this place than what the staff say there are...
Headmaster's Mansion: Located off the Academy grounds, some distance into the woods. The Headmaster gets his own private mansion off limits to those without authority. It is a large mansion within the school made out of fantastic ebony hardwood. It's rectangle shaped. The building is three stories tall and has several rooms, each with their own purpose. The mansion is stocked with high-end furniture and electronics. The mansion is where Darrell and Darrell lives, alone. The building is quite inactive almost all the time. Never used except for resting and kicking back. Though, there are a few things in here that Darrell would like to keep in there...
Beach: The 218 is a island, it is naturally surrounded by water. Naturally, the 218 is edged by one big long beach. The beaches are frequented by the students, as it's a hangout.
Ruins: Not too far away from the Campus, there is a massive building similar in appearance to a college building. It is well-obscured by the woods that encompass the island everywhere but the Academy itself. The building appears to be half completed, as one half of the building is open. The building is sturdy enough so that it retained it's structural integrity. The building has many rooms that have the appearance of bedrooms. It's purpose is unknown - Darrell refuses to speak of it.
Waterfall: An artificial waterfall created some distance away from school grounds - Several paths lead up to this one location. This is a beautiful and large waterfall that is surrounded by rocks. It is very tall, and leads up to a lake, which flows into the surrounding rivers.
Shipwreck: Many years ago, there was an accident regarding some students who thought it'd be funny to play around with the cruise ships that ferry everyone on and off the island. The shipwreck is the result of this accident. It is a cluster of three of the cruise ships that rest on the beaches of the academy. Much like the Ruins these boats are the subject of many ghost stories - And the host of much of the Academy's illicit activities.

Things to know about Meta-humans::
_________________________________________________________________________
Mutants, Freaks, Overhumans, Gods themselves... Commonly called Meta-humans are normal humans that were afflicted with a strange condition that has given them powers that defied the laws of nature and physics. Men with super strength, women who can teleport, children who can control nature itself. These powers are extremely varied. These abilities stem from a strange energy that resides deep within them. A green flowing energy that is known as the Meta-human energy. A invisible energy that is extremely hard to detect through normal means. This energy inhabits a Meta-human's entire body, from their skin, to their bones, to their blood. The energy isn't detrimental to them, or the environment, not even in the slightest, it can even be called beneficial. What is interesting is that scientists have observed that energy is the same, everyone has a slightly different form of the energy. Which is believed to be related to how no Meta-human has the same exact power. When a Meta-human uses their power on the outside world, a small amount of the meta-human energy gets projected and focused in that area. Such as a Water-Elemental controlling a cup of water will get some of the energy projected into it, until they cease control and the energy will return to their body. There will be a residual amount of the energy on it, however. It's so faint that it's extremely hard to even detect, only extremely specialized and complex technology can detect faint amounts of the energy. Another interesting effect the energy has is how it grows within a human being. Starting out with a small amount of the energy, until it grows as they develop and learn new things about their powers. Stronger Meta-humans tend to have more energy within them. However, there's a particular connection between high-stress situations and the advancement of powers. Under high-stress situations, powers rapidly develop.
There is no set age when powers develop. Some Meta-humans are born with their powers, while others won't develop until late into their lives. Powers received are sporadic at best. There is no way to predict what power a Meta-human will have, nor who will develop powers. Not even the strongest information-type can determine that. That said, any power a Meta-human receives is almost random. Completely unrelated to race, culture, education, or physical activity. It is also theorized that every human being has the potential to become a meta-human. However, there are such a thing as hereditary powers. Powers passed from parents to the children, or simply run in the family. These are relatively uncommon, but this is the reason why there are entire families of Meta-humans. However, while inherent powers do exist, anyone will get a different version of a passed down power. In what ways vary. Sometimes it's a slight difference, then other times there's a difference in function, or they will have an ability that nobody else have. Like it's been stated before, Inherent powers are uncommon, but there is a high chance for family members to get a power. Which will be explained below.
Meta-humans have a very particular effect attached to them: The Black Fall Effect. This has two main effects on the meta-human population. Firstly, all Meta-humans are subconsciously attracted to each other. So subtly that it's next to impossible to even notice. It causes the shyest people to head out and interact, or draws people to one particularly location. The more Meta-humans that are around, it will cause a "flocking" effect. The other primary effect is that those who spend plenty of time around other Meta-humans tend to get powers themselves. It can't be a minimum amount of contact, it has to be years around Meta-humans for someone to develop powers. Which is why family members and close friends are extremely likely to get powers.
There's a specific kind of technology that is specifically designed to counter Meta-human powers known as the Power Suppressing Technology. This technology was developed after studying specific meta-humans that had the ability to disable or weaken the powers of other Meta-humans, and create devices based off of that. These devices come in many shapes and sizes (Darts, collars, even fields/rooms) but their one main effect is simple; they produce a wavelength that weakens powers. Depending on the device it may temporarily severe the link between the body and power, or weaken powers. This technology is now widespread in many official locations.
Meta-humans are only capable of using one third of their potential strength, very similar to muscles. These natural limits are theorized to be in place so that they don't burn out. However, similar to flight-or-flight, high-stress situations allow Meta-humans to push themselves beyond their blocks, and develop them in the process. However, while powers are truly incredible, they come at a price. Powers have a toll on the body and mind. Excessive and unrestrained use would cause what could be described as physical overexertion. They'll get tired and weak from use, along with some bodily damage. Pushing powers beyond their limits in high stress situations cause even worse problems, and at it's most extreme, it may cause an effect known as "Ashing". This is basically an extremely deadly aliment where a Meta-human self destructs. Their powers shut off, and all their cells will die at an alarmingly fast rate. Their cells will drop off their body like specs of ash, and this process will continue until there is absolutely nothing left of a Meta-human. This state is extremely deadly, and there's a mere 4% chance of survival - Even if a ashing victim does survive, there are some permanent physical damage (Amputation, Brain damage, loss of powers, etc, etc - Are a few). Ashing is what Meta-humans truly fear, as any meta-human can ash if they are not careful.

Power Rating::
_________________________________________________________________________
The school has a power rating system in place for all the students. It merely ranks their power level, but not their skill with their ability.
It is a 1-10 system. Below denotes which number exactly measures strength.
1-3 - Weak
4-6 - Medium
7-9 - Strong
10 - Powerful

Rules/Notes::
_________________________________________________________________________
1. I have ultimate authority. What I say goes. Deal with it, scrublord.
2. No godmodding, powerplaying, meta-gaming (This is important), and so forth.
3. Mature themes are allowed (Drinking/drugs, swearing, sex). But be sensible with it, don't overplay it. Also have common sense and fade to black when appropriate.
4. Characters will die in this RP. That is a fact. As for killing other characters, that is allowed, but don't go crazy. I'll revoke for good if people abuse it. I won't be actively trying to kill the player characters, but understand that making a mistake can cause them. Of course, if anyone's inactive, or left the RP, they're cannon fodder. On a side-note, don't bullsh*t your characters out of unwinnable situations. If they've f*cked up and are cornered by a monster, hell, looks like there's no white knight after all.
5. One paragraph a post, at least five lines. Simple? It should be.
6. If you lost interest in the RP, or have to leave, tell me. I'll write your characters off, or just forget about them. However, if you leave without telling anyone, refer to rule
7. I'll allow any power within reason. Though I encourage more creative, unique, or original powers. That said, there are some powers I will not allow time-travel, "death inducal", mind control, or any limitless power.
8. Everyone can play as students or teachers/staff. I want more students than staff, however.
9. Everyone is allowed, even encouraged, to have multiple characters, which will maximize interaction. Everyone can have as many characters as they think they can handle. That said, this is an interaction heavy RP, with more of a focus on our characters rather than the plot.
10. No mary sues/OP characters that are perfect at everything and do everything right. I'm going to say this right off the bat: I want flawed characters. No Mr. Perfects that make the best decisions all the time, and Captain Awesomes who are just better than everyone else at everything. I will immediately address (I.E Bitch) any characters that start to annoy me.
11. No "experimented on and escaped a lab" back stories please. Those have more holes than your character's corpse!
12. This Site and This site can help you with powers.
12.5. Put "The Academy" in the other section.
13. There's going to be a bit of a focus on developing powers. In every sheet, list future capabilities and advancements that are in your character's potential. If you want any ideas, ask, and I will help.
14. All sheets go in the Character deposit.
15. I expect sheets to be updated with the new relationship section, and I will assign everyone's power rating, and everyone must edit it into their sheets.
16. If you have any questions, criticisms, observations or ideas; just post them. I love them.
17. Do not have fun. I will make sure this RP will be the more painful moments of your young life!

Academy 218::
Administration/South Wing::

Things to know about Meta-humans::

Power Rating::
_________________________________________________________________________
The school has a power rating system in place for all the students. It merely ranks their power level, but not their skill with their ability.
It is a 1-10 system. Below denotes which number exactly measures strength.
1-3 - Weak
4-6 - Medium
7-9 - Strong
10 - Powerful

Classes of Meta-Humans::
_________________________________________________________________________
There are several different powers a Meta-human can obtain, each are categorized.
Super System: Meta-humans under the Super System class are the most diverse. Abilities under this class are abilities that enhance certain aspects of the natural human physical body to superhuman levels. Powers that fall under this class is Super Strength, Flight, Super Speed, Invisibility, Regenerator, Hardening Skin, Phasing, etc
Anatomical/Biological: Meta-humans under the Anatomical class have the ability to manipulate their own bodily tissues or bodily functions, without dramatically altering the original structure or function. Abilities under this class allow Meta-humans to alter their various tissues, or functions which can be enhanced at will. Whether it be changing the color of their skin, or growing new muscles. This class stands out from the Super System class, as the latter allows enhanced natural abilities. Powers that fall under this class are: Skin Manipulation, Muscle Expansion, Space-shifting, etc.
Elemental: Elemental types are easily the common type of Meta-humans. These Meta-humans have control over certain elements. Most under this class are able to move their element and utilize it in defensive and offensive situations. Often these Meta-humans are able to create their element, and some can even transform themselves into their element. Powers that fall under this class are: Control over fire, earth, water, air, plastic, dust, light, etc.
Cerebral: These powers have to do with the mind. These are common as the Elemental and Super System class Meta-humans. Most that fall under this class are able to do something with their mind or others. Powers that fall under this class are: Telepathy, Emotion Manipulation, Telekinesis, Memory Manipulation, etc
Energy: Energy types have a power that is related to Energy (Kinetic, Thermal, Electrical, Solar). Sometimes these Meta-humans can fall under the Elemental Class. These Meta-humans aren't as diverse as Super System or Elemental Classes, being able to use energy in their powers. Powers that fall under this class are: Kinetic/Thermal/Electrical/Solar Energy related powers, and force fields, lasers, etc.
Chemical: Chemical Types have a power related to chemicals that the body produces or external chemicals. Sometimes these Meta-humans can fall under Elemental or Super-System. These Meta-human aren't diverse as the Super System or Elemental classes, being able to utilize chemicals. Powers that fall under this class are: Pheromone Manipulation/Generation, Hormone Manipulation, Acid Manipulation, etc
Cosmic: Cosmic type Meta-humans allow powers related to Space itself. These meta-humans have powers related to comets, meteors, asteroids, stars, planets, nebula, quasars, dark matter, the sun, and the moon. Some of these Meta-humans have powers that'd fall under Energy or Elemental. Powers that fall under this class are: Solar Manipulation, Lunar Manipulation, Control over Space Rocks, etc
Spatial: Spatial Meta-humans have powers that relate to Time and Space itself. These meta-humans can bend space and time to preform various feats, or altering the natural laws of space. These powers do not fall under the Cosmic-class. Powers that fall under this class are: Teleportation, Slashing Rifts in time and space, altering distance and space/dimensions, etc
Animal/Plant: Animal/Plant type Meta-humans have powers related to the animal/plant kingdom. Whether it be control over certain animal/plants, transforming into an animal/plant or adopting traits from one. Mystical/Ancient animals also fall under this class. Powers that fall under this class are: Wolf features, Control over birds, transforming into a dragon, etc
Extra-Sensory: This class includes abilities that allow gaining information through unnatural means. Often this can include detecting people's emotions or seeing the past. These Meta-humans can often fall under the Cerebral class if their powers have to do with the mind. Powers that fall under this class are: Pre/Retro-Cognition, Astral Projection, Etc
Power: This class involves Meta-humans who have abilities related to themselves or the abilities of other Meta-humans. Meta-humans in this class vary. Often their powers can be be taking/copying the powers of others or ampfliying powers. Powers that fall under this class are: Power Replication, Manipulation, Bestowal, etc
Other: Powers that simply don't fall under the above categories.

Rules/Notes::
