Congrats! That's good for you. I'm definitely hoping to say that after this December.

My first (full) week of classes was very busy. My professors all seem neat and all, but the workload has taken some adjustment. I'm also participating in this semester's faculty directed production, since I'm going to be majoring in theatre, and that's a huge time commitment. But being away from home and whatnot has been pretty fun, and I'm happy here.

I'll give Terminal a few days, and if he doesn't respond, we'll just have to replace him. It'll be a little more difficult to work in a new character at this point, but I'm sure we'll manage.

I was just going to suggest working around him for the last part of this post, actually. He's only been out for a little more than a week, seems enough time to move on in the post without him, but not necessarily replace. When Terminal gets back, he can write what Iikka was doing in the meantime.

In the interest of bumping the thread and getting to know characters more, I'm answering my own question. That, and long-winded answers are fun.

I feel that Clay's book counterpart is Tobias, although Clay's less of a bullying victim and more of a bully. That, and Clay has a bit more home-life angst and a bit less trapped-as-a-bird angst (A lot less trapped-as-a-bird-angst). Tobias becomes a hawk, which allows him to quite literally fly away from all of his problems. On the other hand, I feel like Clay's less flighty (Hah puns) than to choose to run away from home with his morph.

Between his tendency to snap after hitting a boiling point and his status as a bully/delinquent, I feel like Clay's biggest redeeming quality is that he's fiercely protective/loyal, and likes to guard people and things that are important to him. Because of this, I like to think that Clay would lean towards canine morphs. Although there's temptation to give him something cool like a Dingo or African Wild Dog, Clay sticks out for his bad reputation throughout the small town, so I think he'd want a morph that doesn't stick out too much/is kind of cuddly and likable.

Those factors, as well as his size compared to his peers, and other plot stuff to be revealed, Clay gets the Caucasian Shepherd.

EDIT: If it's just Theo and Clay who get cool explanations for signature morphs, I will cry for a thousand years.

Vivid, it's been a week since anyone edited the collab. My suggestion is you just gloss over Iikka's character and write us to completion so we can post it. Terminal probably got caught up in school or something personal.

This is just an fyi that I may not be able to get online until late Sunday, so if you guys don't see me, you will know that I didn't just magically disappear.

Anyone else want to chime in with their morphs while we wait? I'm curious to hear about Mario and Max's forms.

In that case, I'd definitely recommend this blog. I've read most of the books (I forget what point it was, but I stopped at a point it kinda jumped the shark), and this blog got me all caught up. It's also a pretty funny read, too.

Wait, after just reading the first one (and looking at the Animorph's wiki), the Andalite who gave the Animorphs is Tobias' dad? Please don't tell me that War-Prince Nierefiem-Istriff-Shaylik is secretly one of our character's dads. >.< If that is true, I would put my money on Max. She's the only character who's currently without a father (isnt' she living with her mom and her two brothers).

Elfangor is, yes. It's...complicated. He is Tobias' dad from another timeline, when Elfangor came to Earth to hide the time-traveling device (after the events of the Andalite Chronicles), took the form of a human (Al Fangor) and married Loren. Several years later, the Ellimist interfered and gave Elfangor the choice to return to his people (well, as much of a 'choice' as the Ellimist ever gives), and fixes everything. Everything except the paternal nature of Loren's unborn son, who would be Tobias.

In the books, this brings Ax and Tobias closer together. They were friends before, but now they realize that they are family. It also helps Tobias explain why his family never seemed to care for him, and why he felt so out of place in life. It's a turning point in the character of Tobias, who is kind of reckless and heedless about his own wellfare before that point.

Doesn't that imply that Iikka will be stuck in an animal form and we kick him out? Or are we talking personality wise? If it is the former, aren't we getting a little carried away here?

I rather agree with Dedonus about the former, but I do wonder if we're losing our GM as well. DotCom, any chance you can use your Co-GM powers and finish off our collab?
