Well, many of my friends here may have guessed (and a few of my very close friends already know the reason), that I'm pretty much done with the guild for awhile. I haven't posted in over a month, and I JUST NOW got to my PMs. I may be leaving, but this time it's actually for a good cause--not a 'losing internet' scare like the last time.
I recently became involved with a beautiful amazing woman (yes it's an LDR, and yes THIS time I am sure it will work out), and she's been taking up a great deal of my time (and I love it too <3 ). BUT, this has really little to do with my leaving the guild--just a huge event for me that I can't help but tell :)
No, the reason I'm leaving the guild is that I need to get my life together. I didn't say anything sooner because I wanted to be sure this would work out--now that I know it will, it's time to talk. I'm joining the Army. I officially swore in Friday--and signed an 8 year obligatory contract: 4 years active duty, serving directly. The other 4 years inactive duty, to be activated only if they REALLY need someone. I'm joining as an E-3; that's a Private First Class to those who don't know, and I leave for Basic Training September 22nd. Basic is 9 weeks, 4 days long, and after that I should at least have *some* internet contact--but I'll also be in my job training (I'm going to be an eye specialist), so I'll probably be very busy studying.
I've had a lot going on in my life the last few months. I do mean a lot. I won't tell every personal detail here, but let's just say between breakups, a complicated family life at the moment, and trying to get my life in order...things have been a little on the hectic side. I WILL be around until September, but don't expect any RPing. It'll strictly be to keep up with PMs until I go.
I thank the RPguild for introducing me to some wonderful people. There are far too many that I've liked here to name all of you, but among my closest friends are Carantathraiel, SweetPlum (The guild isn't the same without her), FaithfulMuse, Harold, Jannah, MissCapnCrunch (the guild feels a lot more empty without her here as well), FreyaRoseJane, and Dervish. A Tattooed Girl, and LoneWolf888978 deserve special mention too, of course.
I will miss each and every one of you for the time I am in basic training. Some of you I talk with each and every day on skype. Some of you I only get to talk to occasionally...and one or two of you...well, things haven't gone the best. But all of you I named are special to me, and I won't forget any of you. Thank you for making my life much brighter for your presence in it.
A few of those I named deserve extra special attention. SweetPlum, aka Amanda...she has been the sister I was never blessed with. I look forward to meeting her in Texas, where ironically, my AIT will take me! So I am positive I will finally get to meet her in person--and her family too. Amanda may never see this, but I want it known she's helped me through some of my roughest patches in this half year or so we've known eachother. Meeting her has truly been a blessing.
MissCapnCrunch has been damn near as supportive as Amanda has to me. We don't get to talk as much, and she has a lot going on. Like Amanda, Tori may never see this, but she has been one of my closest friends I've ever had, and I'm so happy that we were brought together. Not only has she helped me through some rough times as well, but she's been a very fun and enjoyable person to talk to and to share things with.
Carantathraiel, you have been an amazing friend to me, even when I thought you were being cruel. I'm glad that, in the end, I discovered this. You are a great person, and you deserve so much out of life. I only wish you the best, and I do hope to see a nice little letter from you when I'm in basic training. You are usually calm, logical, thoughtful. You are kind, caring, and fun-loving too. Thank you for being such a good friend, I hope you continue to do so even when our contact is limited to letters.
FaithfulMuse, a country separates us yet, sometimes it feels like we're just a step away. I'm sorry it took me so long to get to your last PM, and it's been a pleasure knowing you. I HATE that we have literally no way of maintaining contact while I'm in basic training, but the second I am able, I will send you a PM at the forum upon my return :) You've been a great friend!
FreyaRoseJane, who may not see this, has been really great. Kind, gentle, rather pointed and direct--all good qualities in a person. I've thoroughly enjoyed our friendship, and look forward to my return from basic, when we can once more be in contact :) Your advice, your friendly nature, and your presence has been priceless.
A Tattooed Girl...she will probably not see this, and despite...things, I'll never regret meeting her. Maybe we didn't work out, but she's not a bad person, and if I could undo ever meeting her, I would be undoing a huge life experience that I'm better for having. I only wish her the best, only ever have, and I pray that somehow she will read these words. If you ever read this, Rogue Wolf, listen for the lonely howl in the night. That's me, hoping life works out for you, and you finally get some sunshine.
To the other LoneWolf, we never got to know eachother well, but from what I did know, you're a great guy. Look out for Gabby, and be a good friend to her. Maybe when I get back from basic, we can actually get to know eachother better, because I sense you'd be a really loyal friend, once someone gets close to you.
To everyone else at the guild, thanks for giving me an excellent experience. I will return, but it will be a long time. I'll miss being here, and I'll miss RPing--but I have to get my own life going, and if that means being away from all of this for a short time, it's worth it. Like I said, I'll still be around until september 22nd (unless I get sent to basic training early), but really only to send/receive PMs--I have a lot of prepping to do, to get myself physically fit and ready. And I have to take care of stuff here at the house, spend time with family too--I won't see them for a very long time, far beyond the scope of basic training.
The RPguild has been a FANTASTIC experience. And Jannah, my friend...may the odds be ever in your favor! You have my full permission to write a fan fic based on our unfinished RP.
