I have been busy writing up orders today, I'll get some IC up tomorrow regarding the evil Boxer Rebellion and perhaps some other issues too. I do find Boer's false equivalence fallacy interesting, but I shall not comment too much on the internal drama of this forum. I'm here to play the game, enjoy myself and act in a way fitting of my leadership and government.

On a different note, I was a bit alarmed that I am sending my orders to Great Britain. Since my orders may or may not include dastardly plans that should not be known by the GM players (Russia and Great Britain), we have agreed that I can send "secret" orders to Mathrim (Bulgaria) when necessary. That should dispell my worries without burdening Mathrim too much. Imagine how awkward it would be to have a naval war between Germany and Great Britain where MagnificentOne could potentially accidentally read my war orders before sending his own.

And the same goes for everyone. Mathrim is the polite man in the dark alley that processes the stuff the GMs shouldn't know about.

I hope that's fine by you, MagnificentOne. And if someone thinks (s)he's more up to the task, I'd happily step down. I simply believe that there might be things you don't want Russia or England to know.

Please don't spam me though :p

Double negative. Hmm. No. It appeared to be, but wasn't.

So is Mathrim sort of a co-co-GM, then?

In way, yes. If you want your High Command to come up with plans to invade the Shetlands and Finland at once, I'm the one you need. But for more trivial problems, I think you can trust the (real) GMs. They can differentiate IC and OOC.

Mathrim's that hooded guy that opens up his coat to reveal a bunch of battle plans and maps and goes, "What are ye plannin?"

As for all these strange scary people coming in.. I'm only a bit intimidated. I'm pretty new to WiR (have never finished one before, or started one from scratch), while most people here seem experienced. Hopefully I can keep up.

Well then you're my man from restoring the crown in Brazil. Also, I think that Haresus knows his history of Germany and I hope that he does well in ruling Europe by the 40s.

Yo Dutch, if it's not a bother, could you give some brief rundowns on what certain stats do? Education, for example. In Outcast's WiR, he said it affected military success, but that he was planning on making the stat more meaningful in future WiR's. I'm wondering if it works similarly here. I also wouldn't mind knowing what infrastructure does, and agriculture, among other things. I can imagine what some of them do just from using common sense, but I've been wrong before.

Anyone who's played a lot of WiR could answer too, I guess.

It affects growth, I think? Don't exactly remember how Keld's stats work.

'Base' is the basis of your economy. Kinda like the "production". Infrastructure and education boost economic growth.

Hmm, I've got a few queries about the update Dutch.

1) I'm a bit confused as there are no stat changes beneath each paragraph. Were those not included in this one just as a one-off or is this a new style?
2) Also, 50K conscripts are now police officers in Afghanistan, that hasn't changed on the stats where it still says 70K, is that a mistake or were an extra 50K conscripted and made into officers? Because that isn't what I meant T-T
3) Just wondering, my income is negative, and is now even lower (is that due to new police officers and general soft infra reform?), yet my treasury seems to have suddenly gained about 5.000.000.

Am very confused :/

Very nice update. +1 to Kho on stats after paragraphs, that would be useful.

I sense things are a foot in Europe and I'm not just referring to Scandinavia. Afghanistan, I will be watching.
