All conversations were abruptly ended off-screen when A-Train Adam called his little homies to to begin CTF. It was a act of mercy. Shit got boring.
Amanda Daisy Blackmore, & Sylvia Lana Bertoose.
"... Surprise motherfucker!" Amanda had this all according to plan. The heat that Stephen was given off was enough to give her his power on a nice little silver platter. Parts of her body started glowing with a brilliant orange glow, a glow like super heated metal. Her hands, feat, chest, and hair, with her eyes glowing orange like they were nothing but a void. She gave off some heat of her own. It was time to kick Stephen's ass... If she knew how to use this ability - No, not even that, they were both immune (Far as Amanda could tell) to the same thing. It'd be like throwing cotton balls at each other. Well, might as well pull back and....
Aw, fuck. The alarm started blaring in the Pit. Amanda stopped dead in her tracks. That meant that time to beat the fuck out of each other was over. A shame. They just got started. It was like fucking and stopping right in the middle of it! Everyone will be having blue balls for months! Well, at least Amanda got a new power underneath her belt, and she'll have her chance to beat Stephen to a pulp later. She started laughing, and put her hands on both of her hips. "Well, looks like playtime's over, Stephy boy." She said with an amused smirk. "Even though we'll both get the fighting version of blue balls, thanks for giving me that power of yours." She wanted to rub in that she just copied his power. A lot of people didn't like that... Now to use it, and become a badass, and out badass Stephen, and rub it in his face....
Hell, she should just start running along before Daddy gets disappointed. She wasn't going to miss Capture the Flag. "Au revoir, douchebag, don't think this is over. We'll finish this later." She skipped her way back up the steps.
Jesus, this kid's like Jean on steroids. Sylvia was wiping off all the sweat. The area was nearly unbearably hot. Which was something she didn't have a lot of counters to. Well, she could do what she did when she fought Jean, just bumrush him and send him flying across the room. Yeah, that could work. That mirage non-sense won't work against the ability to see sound. That said, Sylvia stood straight up and tuned her back to Stephen, giving him an aside glance. The gesture would have been powerful if she wasn't literally soaked with her sweat. "... I expect to see your ass in that arena later, Chucklefuck." A simple challenge. If Stephen was willing. She knew that she was. She walked up the stairs.
Adam Leo Blackmore.
Right then and there Adam's face glowed bright red with sheer embarrassment. He... Did not like the prospect of a girl, that was younger than him by decades, kissing him. What would the students think? What would Ravencroft think? He immediately turned away from her, and coughed into his fist. Trying to look professional. "... We'll discuss this later." He hoped that this wouldn't come off as creepier than what it sounded.
Fortunately, Aislin Rose stepped up and gave him the perfect distraction. A brief demonstration of her ability. He watched intently as he laxed, letting the air return to normal. She created a snake made out of stone, along with several other reactions. This gave Adam a great wealth of information from her ability. Even though she wasn't entirely successful (You cannot truly fail in my class) Adam got enough out of her ability. She can create golems, more or less, and animate objects around her. Just like the school's file on her says. There wasn't much he could teach her, but there are ways she can improve her power. Many things were in her potential, things Adam could tell her. He put a fist to his mouth, loudly clearing his throat. "That is sufficient, Aislin. There things within your potential I wish to inform you of. For example it is possible for you to infuse your creations with emotions to give them differing traits. I theorize that Anger would make your creations more offensive oriented..." He tipped his glasses as he looked around the room. They were running out of time, so Adam was going to conclude things with Aislin. "... However, there is a more advanced ability within your grasp. You will be capable of projecting your own consciousness onto your animations. Making them act as a alternate body... Something for you to work towards." He gave her one last confirming nod.
However, they had spent enough of their time here. Adam could tell the students were getting anxious, eager to start team exercises. He used his ability to carry his voice further, "Alright then, students, assessment and improvement time is over. Time to begin... Capture the Flag." He said with dramatic flare. "If you would all follow me." He stepped away, as he pulled out his remote, and pressed a button. Two things occurred. First a door opened right in his path, and the alarm in the pit started blaring. Signalling that it would close soon. He stepped through the door, and with the rest of his students following, they would find themselves in the arena.
A specially made arena for the capture the flag event. It was a truly enormous room, large enough to support the buildings that were inside. Made out of the same blast metal the training and arena rooms were. What was notable about these rooms were the aforementioned buildings. Several buildings were in the room for the game. Two buildings were on opposite sides of the room, they were small and built like metal bunkers. These were the bases for the two teams, one marked with a red flag, and the other marked with a blue flag. Between the two bases was a large blocky fortress, with a tower on the very top of it, this fortress had plenty of windows (Before you get any ideas, no glass) on all sides. This was a tactical position. It stopped the two teams from heading straight for each other. With chest-high walls in place for cover, and various resources for certain powers lying around. Surrounding all of them were tall metal walls with watch-towers lining them (They had ladders and whatnot to get to the top). The walls were thick enough to have hallways, and there were many doors into them.
Adam turned around, and explained the game the best he could. "Welcome to the Capture The Flag exercise - Often abbreviated to CTF. A simple exercise in team work. It is simple, your objective is to collaborate with your teams to take the flag from the opposing team and take it to your own - Though I have to iterate for the telekinetics, and whatnot, that, for it to be valid, you have to physically grab the flag. No powers. Everyone is allowed to take measures to defend. However, no lethal or damaging attacks, no blows to the face or exposed areas...." He tipped his glasses and gave everyone a stern look, "If I see anyone, anyone, break this rule, and they will be spending an hour in the detention center. Everyone should simply aim for the armor. I will be assigning your teams." Adam pulled out his clipboard for a second, before he loudly announced everyone's names:
"Alright, Team One will consist of: Jared Winston, Atticus Fowler, Kristen Schwally, Richard Cox, Deborah Termellio, Jaska Valos, Gabriela Valos, Alex Beta, Codi Bailey, Valjean Vaseal, Shannon Balore, Estell Szüts, Aislin Rose, Cordelia Holmes, Karlie Davis, and Jake Valos." Adam pointed at one base. "Your base is on that side."
"Team Two will consist of: Mark Heaton, Amanda Blackmore, Victoria LaRouse, Poppy Flanagan, Dana Alcott, Tetsuya Kyuuji, Asae Sugiura, Paige Wilson, Christopher Fox, Henry Olin, Sylvia Bertoose, Avarian, Matthew Evans, Évangéline DeRonde, Terry Obott, and Nikki Biyung." Adam pointed at the other base. "While this is your base."
Adam held his clipboard behind his back. "Everyone move to their respective bases, once everyone is ready, the game will begin. And remember, this isn't a competition, we will be judging you by your performance out there. No real winners, no real losers... " He nodded his head as everyone went on their respective adventures. He was going to watch from above, using his aerokinesis to give himself flight. The second anything went wrong he'd be right on it. May the games begin...
Jake, Gabe, Jaska, Deborah, Shannon, & Valjean.
Huh, so the games started? Jake and Gabe stood side by side as they stood in front of their base. It was a good thing they were all on teams (Even better (?) that Evan is on the other team). They wanted to win, merely because of their own competitive drive. But now came the problem of actually winning. Who's going to do it? Jake knew that they couldn't go rambo and grab the flag. No, they had to come at this from a strategic approach. "This is going to be a tough one. But, we'll pull through."
Jaska got into his gargoyle position, standing behind his siblings. Looking around the room. He took in one sharp inhale and blew out a puff of fire. Rather bright fire. He was excited for this game, but he was unsure of where to start... And was afraid. People here would hit him? Last time someone attacked him... it brought out the beast, and that wasn't pretty. He shuddered. Choosing to remain quiet, and with his own thoughts.
Looking largely meh, Gabe shrugged and blankly said, "Heh, we'll just pull some of that Valos talent out our ass to win."
"... Remember the last time we did that...?" Jake said with a grin on his face, "We lost, horribly, before we even started."
Gabe started laughing as she playfully pushed Jake, "Hey, I told you to drown the duck when you had the chance." They both started laughing.
Footsteps approached the three, definitely two people. Deborah Termellio and Shannon Balore. Since the match just started they need a plan going and to get acquainted with their team. What better place to start than with these people? "... Well, I don't think anyone would want to watch you pull stuff out your ass, so perhaps we can be of assistance?" She said with a cheeky grin. Shannon's body language said that she wanted to be anywhere but here. In actuality, she thought it'd be fun to play these games merely from a tactical, logical. standpoint.
Gabe gave Deborah a cheeky grin, damn this girl was hot. That was enough to keep her attention. "... And who might you lovely ladies be?"
Introduction time. Deborah has seen these people plenty of times in the past and was simply joyed to finally make their acquaintance. "Deborah Termellio, and this is my close associate, Shannon Balore. We're just two 'lovely ladies' who thought that 'Hey, if we're being forced to play this stupid game, why the hell don't we put effort into it?'" She laughed for a little bit. Wondering what the hell these kids could do. While asking about powers was something so commonly tossed around here that it's gotten dull, they might have some use. "But for that effort to mean anything, we would need to know what everyone is capable of. What are your powers kind gentlemen?" Lying to Deborah won't accomplish jackshit.
Jake scratched the back of his neck, shrugging, "Nothing special. I make illusions, she shoots lasers, he... Just looks like that...." Jake covered them. It was easy saying what their powers were in a sentence or two. He knew that Gabe didn't care, merely because subtly is an alien concept to her.
Shannon wryly said, looking at Jaska, "... And breathes fire."
Jake pointed at Shannon. Reflecting what she said, "And breathes fire."
Ugh, Jaska was content with being ignored while the grown ups talk, but they were talking about him. That just meant he needed to respond. He hissed lightly under his breath, hot air came out of his mouth. He reared his head, somewhat irritated that he was being forced into a conversation that he wanted nothing apart of. But it was just a pair of pretty ladies. He knows what that means. "Oooooh, hiiii pretty ladies." He greeted them.
Both girls started laughing as they looked at each other. Already so young and such a gentleman. "How adorable." Deborah said with a wink. But it was time to get down to business, she kept the ball rolling, "How interesting. I can use this information on my planning. Shannon, would you mind sharing your gift while I think?"
Shannon let out a sigh, one thing she was tired of was discussing powers, "... Clothing manipulation. I can do just about anything with fabrics and materials that you see clothes are made of. Along with a little bit of tensile strength manipulation, I am quite the fashionista."
Coooool. Clothing manipulation. Jake would rather have control over clothes than illusions. He'd be hella fly 24/7, and would never have to worry about a tear in his clothes again. "That is a great power, Shannon." He had to say, "And what do you think the opposing team is capable of?"
For the first time, Shannon opened her mouth to speak. "Your guess is as good as mine, I only seen a few of them in action...." Shannon looked into the distance, pondering. "Of course with Pandaman and Henry on their team... we might have a bit of problem...." She put her hand on her chin.
"Ha! Problem?!" Gabe loudly said, boldly, "Whenever I see a problem I just add laser and it's gone." She topped that off with a smug shrug.
"... And we have a Deborah." Debby said, with a giggle in her voice as she stepped up. She didn't want to come off as arrogant, but she knew she was tooting her own horn here, "This is not a game of strength, or power, it is a game of skill, tactics, and planning. Thus, we have a massive advantage; me."
Gabe put a hand on her hip, dryly looking at Deborah "... And what the bloody hell can you do that's so amazing?" She wasn't saying this because she was skeptical, she was saying this so Deborah can elaborate a bit more on her fantastic, amazing, skills.
This was the big question everyone was meaning to ask. Which is why she didn't give it away right from the get go. She needed to get their attention. "Basically, I get information about what I perceive by making connections and getting information out of it. Thus, I can anything." She topped that off with a sassy shake of her hips. "What I can do is come up with a great plan, with Shannon, by taking everyone into account, and making an infallible plan around that."
Standing over them, getting ready himself, was Valjean Vaseal. He was competitive, so there was no way he was going to miss out of this. Though he didn't really have much to say. They were planning, he was getting ready. The first thing he did was go into scorpion form. A rough tan exoskeleton surrounded him from head to toe. His face turned into a more scorpion like face with mandibles and extra eyes. A massive scorpion stringer had erupted from his lower back, while extra-legs had also grown out of his body. His hands were transformed into massive pinchers. If his face was capable of it, he would be grinning. "... And that's my Debby." He said, his voice was now insect-like.
Deborah continued, "But, while we can come up with a plan, we'll still need the input of our lovely associates. Who will attack, who will defend, who will get everyone coffee... That jazz. I know you guys won't want us straight up giving you orders." She topped it off with a chuckle. This was the moment where everyone steps in and starts planning.
Amanda Daisy Blackmore, & Nikki Biyung.
Yay, Amanda gets to fight with her beloved cousin and new boyfriend. And bloody balls, Stephen was on their team. Amanda wanted to 'slip and accidentally tear his balls off' while no one was paying attention, but oh well. Amanda was shifted into her metal mode, so she could efficiently fuck shit up. Fuck plans, fuck the other team. Literally. She was going to build an iron dildo and go to town. Erhm. She should save her plans for Matt for later. For now there's a game she has to win. She would just rush head first into the enemy base and grab the flag, but that wouldn't be fair, now would it? Amanda turned her head towards Nikki, who was standing right next to her. "Yo, Nik, can your bugs fly the flag over here?"
While Amanda was doing her thing, Nikki was thinking of a plan of attack... Which would be difficult since everything was going on. At most, she could provide support for everyone else. Actually, Nikki reached into her gym bag and a few flying insects came swarming out. Scouring the room. This was her plan. Keep track of their team using a network of bugs. "No, but I have a better idea." Nikki was quick to say, "How about we just sneak in and grab their flag? I'll know where they are just so we can avoid them."
Amanda leaned up against the wall, giving Nikki a cocky grin. "... Heeeeeeyyy, I like your line of thought, Nikki." She gave her cousin a thumbs up. She knew a plan like that would fall apart, which is good, because Amanda can wreck some kids shit either way. Amanda started running forward, before she abruptly stopped, and turned towards Matt, "Matt, be a good boyfriend and break anyone who gets in our way in two, would you?"
