Considering it's my set right now, I feel the need to chip in for Toradora, although I have no doubts that most people here wouldn't be a fan or would find it average.

Other than that, uh, how has nobody mentioned Game of Thrones yet? Best shit ever, and if anyone disagrees with me they're clearly crack addicts because that's the only thing I can imagine being better.

As do I, but that doesn't make the show not worth watching. I think it's best experienced as both a tv show and book series together, both of them give you different but complimentary experiences. I watched the show through to the end of season four before even starting the books, and I don't think I've lost anything for it.

I don't know why I can't get into any fucking anime recently.

I caught an episode of SAO a long time ago and thought it was lame. My friend's convinced my to watch it and so I did. It ended up okay overall, but I was not on board for all the animu drama. I watched a bit of SAO 2 but then stopped after episode ten. Right when the animu drama in the cave really went down.

Anime tropes are killing me. I want to watch anime but ugh.

Psychopass was pretty good actually. Though some parts really annoyed me. I think it might have been the overall story's logic combined with individual character logic. But I will acknowledge the possibility of the problem being me over-thinking things.

Kill La Kill is alright. I watched a few episodes and stopped. There's a pretty good chance that I'll continue, but it hasn't really hooked me. Another trope I don't like is school-centric animu. I also don't like a lot of animu comedy but Kill La Kill is p. good in that department. I dunno.

I haven't tried Fairy Tail because the name is fucking lame. Yeah, that's right. That is actually my reason. That and it sorta looks to have the same feel as Soul Eater at first glance. Including having the same audience. And Soul Eater just seems too immature with dumb jokes and shitty shit.

I know that there is a slew of Seinen anime I could watch, but I have a hard time getting into those for other reasons.

I just want cool... not faggy anime :(

It's so hard.

I just watched Filth the other day. Depressing and funny as fuck. I want to read the book though. I read Trainspotting though I've yet to see the movie. I'm sure the book will explain shit I didn't really understand or was glossed over in Filth.

Other than that, it was pretty good and loved the accents.

Gungrave has always been on my maybe list. And you know what? I might just watch it because of this. The fact that no one talks about it is what probably stopped me from checking it out sooner.

I've seen most of Ghost in the Shell. I never got enamored with it but it is a really good anime.

I have not checked out Baccano.

I know Monster is good. And I've seen a few episodes of it. I stopped watching after he saved the sister and then she ran away from her protector for no good reason. "this is going to be a whole thing isn't it?" I thought. I have to continue this one. I know that.

Darker than Black might be that show I tried to watch but felt the setting was too much. Could try again.

And I haven't heard of the last one.

Stein's Gate is meant to be very good, Awson, as is Cowboy Bebop. Not seen them myself but I hear good things.

I always feel the need to interject on the behalf of Baccano!

So yeah. I've been slacking off on anime, but I'm slowly moving through a pile of them and will report back once I have fully-formed opinions on the series I have on queue.

Stein's Gate and Monster are floating at the top of my should-watch list.

And of course I've seen Cowboy Bebop. I've seen a good chunk of the good mainsteam anime out there:

FMA
Gurren Lagann
FLCL
Code Geass
Death Note
Attack on Titan
Samurai Champloo
Black Lagoon

And I've even watched these little shits for the most part:
DBZ
Naruto
Bleach

There's a lot of bad things that could be said about the last two, but at least the action was good, yo.

I know that there are plenty of shows out there that I'll like, but I know there's also a sea of shows I won't. It's same fucking thing with American television. I've seen the good ones: Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead...

But then there's the whole level of tier two ones that are hit and miss. You remember the one you didn't like and then you see it on a list of a bunch of other ones and then you start making assumptions.

I know that I should check out Dexter and True Blood and Doctor Who and Downton Abbey and Sherlock and Supernatural and Sons of Anarchy and idfk... Teen Wolf!?

And I actually do like a couple of those but SOA is boring and Supernatural is fucking ridiculous so I guess maybe I don't need to check out those other things because y'know whatever.

The difference being that I've actually checked out a bunch of anime, but still only like a few.

If we're still recommending anime, I would like to throw Trigun out there.

It's my all-time favorite anime and I absolutely love it. <3

I watched a few episodes of Trigun but I couldn't get into it. The concept seemed good but I don't think I understood the context of everything that was going on, they talked too fast so I didn't catch all the subtitles.

I've been looking for another anime to watch though. I've gone through Death Note, Psycho-Pass, Amnesia, Noragami, SAO season 1, only a couple of episodes of season 2 then I stopped because I thought the story got dumb. I tried Vampire Knight but it was boring and the animation looked really awkward and unnatural. I started watching the newer series of Fullmetal Alchemist and didn't understand anything and then realized I'd need to go back and watch the old series first. It looks good, but I don't know if I want to start it. Netflix was dumb and took down Avatar. Obviously I've seen Ao No Exorcist but I actually didn't like it that much (Just Mephisto, he should have his own show).

I'll take recommendations, preferably ones that Netflix has.
