No offence, mdk, but you're talking some serious bullshit . But it's the sort of masterful bullshit that's close enough to the truth, close enough to logical, to seem almost reasonable. I have no idea if you're trying to troll or are being serious, but it's either a great troll or some great mathematical thinking, even if it is flawed/incorrect.

The symbol is secondary to the concept. The concept is that, in the actual world, in natural science, assigned values are, from the most basic to the most complex units, facile. Matter is simultaneously more and less than itself, and both more and less than what we would call an equivalent value. Digital sound is incremental, and fundamentally different from analogue -- is it so radical a concept that human comprehension of reality is fundamentally different from true reality?

Woah woah woah are you trying to apply theoretical mathematics?

Tsk tsk mdk.

On the topic of assigning values and 1st hand information objectivity/subjectivity etc. You should really read up some krishnamurti or allan watts. :>

Or sometimes a cup is just a cup, and two is just representative of two units. Remember that mathematics is merely the method by which we keep track of an object, a concept, a thing. A number which has no purpose or point is just a meaningless unit lost in the infinite cosmos and you can make it anything you want it to be, because the number is attached to nothing.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, if you have two cows, and add two more cows, you have four cows.

The end.
