You can't make your own star system. There are three extrasolar systems that have templates for the planets in those systems. You can make planets, but the system behind making planets is that for the three extrasolar star systems that have a predefined set of planet types. However, they are unnamed and lack any detail to speak of. So you make a planet when you claim worlds in a extrasolar star system and fill out the lore sheet for the worlds you claimed to explain what the world's properties are.

As for races, assuming you are referring to intelligent aliens than yes and no. For while there is the option, me and iso will be extremely picky about the subject as it has been decided there should only be one alien species with intelligence in the RP. I should also note said alien species would have to be inferior to humans technologically, be alien-aliens and not have spaceship tech on contact.

This is because a advanced alien race is setting breaking and the player who controlled those aliens would be as powerful as all the other players in the RP combined which isn't fair at all to everybody else.

I can completely agree with you on terms of the intelligent species part, there will be likely only the one including humans, also I have my own idea for a planet, been wanting to apply it for some time now, the basic of it is a tidally locked terrestrial world, roughly the size Venus but a bit bigger. I'll give a more in depth explanation if the main idea is fine so far.

Look for the "three systems" section in the OP. You don't place new planets in a star system. You take the place holder planets and expand on them.

There's a tidally locked planet around proxima centauri. However, another player who was on chatzy also wants that planet. When the OOC is up i'll have to pick between your app and wasd's app since I assume you are referring to a eye ball earth.

Or alternatively you could potentially share the planet with wasd.

Indeed, it's something I'll look into later, I'll do my application for it, and let wasd know about it, then we'll see if we can reach a middle ground on it.
Anyway there is another thing that has been bothering me, it's that Venus is completely Terra formed, whereas Mars is not?
Now I am going to go very in depth into this event hoguh it may not be entierly necessary.

Our Solar system has only 3 planets that can be regarded as habitable, there is Earth, which is obviously habitable and then there is Mars and Venus.
No I'm not sure which one of these was under Terrformation first but I'll assume Mars was as it is the most logically viable candidate for successful Terraforming.
The reason for this is that, unlike Venus it has a polar ice cap, which means water, and in turn Oxygen and hydrogen, merely melting this with thermobarbaric missiles is enough to start a chain of events that would likely begin a natural terrforming process of Mars, with a bit of help from technology over the years, the northern basins of mars would fill with water, the atmosphere would begin repairing itself and thickening thanks to the natural gases released with the water from the ice caps and in turn the planet could probably be able to accommodate humans without the need for suits.

And then there is Venus... There is no ice cap on Venus and the average temperature is about 400 degrees centigrade this is due to the planets atmosphereic gasses comprising of about 96% carbon dioxide, making this world a 'pressure cooker' world. The atmosphere is incredibly dense and the pressure from it 9 times that of earth. this makes terraforming immensely complex and difficult.
The planets atmosphere also has barely any hydrogen or oxygen in it meaning that no water can naturally form.
The only way to start and making this planet habitable is by bombarding the planets surface with comets, or ice blocks salvaged from Saturn's rings and in the asteroid belt, this would start to release water vapor and hopefully Oxygen and hydrogen, in turn reducing atmospheric pressure and adding some form of water vapour into the atmosphere.
No the only way to effectively dispose of the immense amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is through terraforming engines or bio-domes, both replace C02 in favour of other gasses, like oxygen and nitrogen.
This in turn would also further reduce atmosphereic pressure and thickness, however it'd take hundreds of years and the cost of somehow getting these engines and biodomes built on this planet and keeping the workers alive and uncooked is incredibly difficult and costly.

I'm sorry but this had to be said, I understand this all purely hypothetical and far from reality but I had to broach this point.

I think it is the way it is because the plot demands it. AB and Iso have stated in the chat that hard science will not deviate the predefined plot in ways like this; and they came up with a whole host of reasons as to why Venus was terraformed and not Mars. namely, it's because Venus stayed out of the conflicts and had the resultant resources to fully terraform itself.

Or something.

In other news: AB and Iso, can I do some world building on a few other bodies in the RP universe if they're separate from my faction/s? I want to make a moon (Possibly in Centurai or Sol) into a lawless, outlaw, renegade, wretched hive outpost. Think Tortuga or Tatooine. I think we could definitely make good use of a setting like that.

Mars was far further along the path to being Terraforned before the Solar War, but with the vast majority of the Martian populace destroyed and all the terraforming equipment gone Mars has only recently had the opportunity to restart it's efforts.

So Venus has 500-600 years of effort due to pre war efforts, and Mars has maybe 100 given most efforts on Mars were rebuilding the underground cities.

So the reason is there and it was vital to the plot Venus be the only planet that escaped the war, since the war was supposed to be aimed outward from Earth, giving Venus a free pass.

(Also the atmosphere of Venus is 0.002% water vapour, the mass of the Venusian atmosphere is 4.8*10^20 kg, so the mass of water in that atmosphere is 9.6*10^17 Kilograms, and given 1:1 conversion that is 9.6*10^17 liters. Note Earth has a mere 1.35 *10^18 liters, Thus Venus has an amount of water not terribly disparate from Earths.)

Not to mention Venus managed to avoid having its infrastructure destroyed in the war and for 200 years of setting the whole operation was set up. The venus being terraformed is a plot thing overall, as Iso explained.

I should note another guy claimed it would take tens of thousands of years to get rid of the atmosphere and restarting the rotation being near impossible.

However, due to necessity the RP has to deviate from science at various points.
For instance with the high STL speeds used every spaceship becomes a potential WMD. What negates this potentially may well be that a good share of colonies aren't on the surface of a planet anymore, the amount of force a many ton spaceship moving at a fraction of the speed of light would be MASSIVE.

It's highly unlikely that there are many worlds orbiting alpha centauri beyond the one confirmed planet. For instance only one world has been confirmed around alpha while no worlds have been found it's not certain if luhman or proxima even have planets. Eridani gets a free pass due to being so bright detecting planets at Eridani is hard to gleam at for worlds. The dusk disk not helping. However, I intentionally [due to wanting a zoo of different alien planets] added a diversity of alien worlds around the three star systems as to give more spots for people in extrasolar systems and shove in some of the strange exosolar planets scientists actually have found using Kepler.

Fast As Light is as plausible as Faster Than Light.

All three colonies manage to happen upon worm hole tech and all use it to go to sol despite different technological paths and cultures.

There is seven planets, including europa and earth that have life [2 in eridani, 1 in luhman, and another 2 in the centuari multi-star system including the aforementioned tidally locked world]. It's not certain how common life actually is despite the wide potential range of places it may exist, however for the sake of the RP the commonness of life has been upped a bit intentionally. This is despite tempting the fermi-paradox, especially if intelligent life is found in one of the extrasolar star systems.

Beyond that, there are likely some unexpected implications of the tech we have. For instance FAL means you could in theory launch a missile at the speed of light.
So I think what you should remember is that some things in the RP exist because they are, as Iso said, necessary to the plot. FAL and the gate ways are other examples of plot technologies.

And that internal consistency is more important than realism overall.

I'd be interested in playing if I could be some kind of interplanetary crime organization. A mix between drug cartel and terrorist mafia, pulling the strings of their puppets in weak governments.
