The year is 2999 UC, and the ancient continent of Carcassonne is turning aflame. Humanity has long considered the continent their home and its major bedrock civilizations are literally on the verge of entering a Renaissance, yet recent, irreversible wars are fusing the land into a volatile powder keg. Widessread condemnation can point towards the Fall of the Kingdom of Valania and her mighty armies. Fourteen years have passed since the Sarifen Empire established itself as Carcassonneโ€™s dominating military power, however, the promises for peace and prosperity have not been fulfilled. Scars of the War of Sarifen Conquest still exist and many subjects of the conquered Kingdom of Valania grow weary of Sarifen rule, including the former Valanian crown prince, Lucius Delacroix I and his sister, the crown princess Ryanna Delacroix.

The people suffer and toil under an archaic Feudalistic way of life rife with corruption, sexism, civic inequality, economic slavery, and classism of unprecedented scales. To make matters worse, unnecessary continental wars, famines, and political assassinations threaten to tear society apart. Within Valania itself, its former territories are in a state of heavy decline, due to institutional neglect, excessive corruption, gluttony, and indifference to the suffering populace. The gap between the rich and the poor is appalling and the mortality rate has risen as the people either starve or barely scrape by.

Famines have also spread across Sarife, however, the Emperor Aryanpour I and the Empire's many Sarifen aristocrats turn a blind eye to the mass suffering as they indulge in lives of unchallenged privilege and comfort. Whispers have also spread throughout the land that a deep rift has emerged between the Emperor and his son, the Royal Sarifen Prince Bahramesh Azad Aryanpur II; whom holds no love for the Empire's buckling economy and the people's suffering. As Sarife falls further into decline, the prince watches helplessly as two generations of incessant guerilla warfare within Valania's territories have finally emptied Sarifan coffers as his father refuses to disband the Empire's massive conscript army.

All the same, reports from Sarife's most accomplished agents speak of a secret alliance between Carcassonne's Southern rulers as the Kingdoms of Vectis, Vorst, Ivalis mobilize their armies along Valania's Southern borders. Simultaneously, disheveled refugees arrive from across the sea along Carcassonne's West and Northern coasts. Nightmarish tales have emerged of ancient nations falling to merciless and unstoppable hordes wearing impenetrable, plate mail armor. Heroes and Patriots are needed once again to fight the injustice that once again threatens to engulf Carcassonne into anarchy and totalitarian rule. Where are Valania's champions during its hour of need? Where is Valania's Crown Prince, Lucius or Sarife's Royal Prince Bahramesh? What toils await Sarife as famines drain their rivers and farmlands? Nothing is certain; however, a storm is coming. With unemployed masses, crippling debts, and suffocating class imbalances; the people must look within themselves than towards their local indifferent aristocrats to bring life to their dying nations. Who will answer the call? Only those whom dare to dream, stand a chance of survival and whatever happens, the next chapter within Carcassonne's Blood-Riddled Sagas will soon unfold. Those whom decide to reverse the peoples' dwindling misfortunes will forever inshrine themselves into legend for this is a new age! An Age of Revolution ...

Note: There's actually more backstory, but I rather reveal most of it thru IC.

Name: Adrianna Sidos Heurassein
Age: 28
Race: Human
Nationality: Sarife
Allegiance: Sarife (or so it appears...)
Appearance:
Profession: Assistant/Business Owner

Biography: Glordano Ficino Heurassein was born a Sarifen noble, and raised as such. His past is shrouded in much mystery, no one is really sure who his parents are besides the fact they bear the name Heuassein. To those who would inquire, he would simply say he prefers his privacy. What is known is he served as a captain during the war between the Sarifen and and Valarian, commanding a troop of cavalry. Sometime during the war he went missing. What happened during this time is up for speculation. Some believe he abandoned his post like a coward in fear of death. Others would say his troops were defeated and were left at the mercy of the desert. But some years later, after the war had ended and Valania had succumbed to Sarife, Glordano returned to reclaim all that is his.

With the help of his daughter, Adrianna, they started a mining company simply by the name of the Heurassein Powder Company. The company specializes in supplying black powder, it jump started when Glordano discovered a rich supply of sulfur deposits that had previously been untouched. Since then, Adrianna has been put in charge of everything, acting as head of the company in her father's place. Adrianna has expanded the company's business to include manufacturing of firearms. Although not as big as her competitors, Adrianna has brought an unprecedented wealth to the Heurassein name, which she is the only practical representative of. Her mother and siblings are no where to be seen. Her father prefers to remain hidden from the public, some speculate it is due to hideous scars he earned from the war. For all intensive purposes she is the only public figure to carry the name Heurassein. Many would argue her father needs a son to carry on the family name, but Adrianna does not seem eager to wed despite the growing line of suitors who attempt to court the young, beautiful, and rich woman.

Race: Al Mayrin
Appearance: Blond, golden like straw. Green, pupil-less, quite noticeable in the light. She has deep set scars on her wrists from ropes.
Height: 5'6
Abilities:
- Capable of using a dagger but prefers to avoid conflict wherever she can.
- Born with the ability to see remote locations in her mind's eye. Ability to tame animals.

Personality:
Onatha is quiet, shy. At least when she is in public. She tries hard to hide what she is. Once she was happy, bubbly and talkative. Unlike others in her tribe Ona is not musically inclined. She cannot carry a tune or play an instrument. Ona can however sew beautiful clothes and her skill is often sought after. Ona likes the cool night in the deserts. She enjoys fruit when they can get it and she loves to dance.

She hates being stuck indoors for great lengths of time. She scares easily. Onatha never stayed anywhere for very long but she longs to have someone to talk to. Her greatest wish would be to have someone who would look past what she is, to be her friend. Onatha is nervous around new people but a bit of kindness means a great deal to her.

Ona is torn between wanting to go back and join a tribe, to be among the people she knows and the call of the world around her. The tribes offer warmth, companionship and familiarity. The rest of the world offers adventure, freedom and loneliness. The pros and cons of both run through her head constantly. Going back also means facing Kylia, if he is still alive and even cares to remember her. Staying in the cities means the chance at a different life.

Equipment:

Onatha wears a blue dress is of a light material. Best for the heat. She wears two large bands. One on each wrist. She has sandals on her feet. Her dress is bound at her waist by a rope belt.

History:

When Onatha was very young her father struck a bargain with another tribe. His daughter to marry into the other tribe. In return there would be a truce between the two tribes and the use of each others trade routes. Her father stood to gain a great deal simply by marrying her off. When she turn 17 her future family met with her tribe and the preparations for a large wedding commenced. In the other tribe, the Nurlia, there was unrest. There was man who wished to become the new head of the Nurlia. He made his move as the wedding was coming together.

The night before her wedding, Ona found herself with a blanket over her and she was being carried away. She heard cries and screams from around her but could not see anything. When the blanket was removed she was bound by her wrists to the back of a caravan. A man with a sly grin was smiling at her. Kylia looked at her, his purple eyes black in dark desert night. "They are all gone now, I am head of the Nurlia. As such you will be my bride. Then both tribes will be mine."

Onatha walked behind the caravan for days. The ropes bit deeply into her wrists. She did not cry. She knew it would do her no good. They stopped to make camp the fourth day. She heard the murmurs that very few had survived and those that did were expected to acknowledge Kylia as the head or suffer for it. Ona worked on the ropes tirelessly. She used her teeth, anything she could get her hands near. She rubbed them against the caravan. Finally, they started to fray. She worked harder and then in the dead of night she managed to get them to break apart. Quietly, she stole into the camp. She took a dagger, and headed back towards where her tribe had made camp.

It took her days, and she was parched, hungry and dehydrated when she finally reached them.

There were bodies everywhere. Members of both tribes lay out in the sun, the scavenging animals were everywhere. Through tears she managed to find food and gathered up some items. With her family behind her she headed off with whatever supplies she could carry. Ona traveled for years. She made some coin sew and mending in some of the smaller towns. She did her best to keep her identity hidden. She never stayed long in any one place both by choice and by necessity.

Onatha found herself bound to a desk in the library. Her ability was utilized to help patrons find the items they needed.

One day there was a terrible rumble. Scared but bound to the desk still Onatha hid under the desk. The last thing she remembered was stone falling around her.

That was until the man woke her.

Awesome! Of mine Corisande is pretty much finished though I may add more to flesh her out a bit, Dae is reasonably close and Ash needs a whole ton of work done to him xD Need to think of an actually decent backstory...

Apologies to y'all for not getting back, but battling for time here before I get to work. I will be posting my own several character sheets by tonight or tomorrow so stay frosty! Until then, I'll just pull out my Story Master's approval stamp. It's not as big as my other stamp so don't ask where I got! ; ^ )

Its quiet because I have not yet jumped in, me and the Gourmet are fleshing out the details of a mercenary company that might or might not have a personal stake at the upcoming conflict and they might or might not have their own honor to deal with as well as may or may not being old fashioned or extremely adaptable

I believe that Dae is finished! Her background isn't that long actually... However I think I've sort of kept some things vague so they can be more fleshed out during roleplay or the like. Hopefully she'd good enough

Peik, I'm wondering how many years ago it was that Korkud Bilecik? I am considering making Ashradar one of the men that went with him then and knowing how long ago it was is essential to making up my mind on that and also Ash's age.

Glad to see we're all still here and kicking. Trying to work on answering everyone's questions while working with Skulls, Nevis, and Romancek for character development. Been a crazy, albeit productive weekend, but we're moving along! I'll be waiting for the others to sort of join in the mix as I'm sure dreamshell, Ivory, babby, Peppers and maybe a couple others are probably working out their own character sheets, but just as a precaution, I've already sent PMs to see what they're up to. If the weekend rolls by and we don't see more faces, I promise that I'll throw up the IC so we can all get started this show on the road.

Here's the thing, I've been from to and from the land of the dead and I gotta tell y'all, it's a scary place so a word of advice. Try not to get killed! Alright? Alright?!

I kid, I kid; but anyways. I figured I'd let you all know that we'll be starting very soon and the scenes I've written and drafted for the future will involve all parties. Additionally, I just want to mention that this will be a survival struggle in what's supposed to be a solid death sentence, grins.

Believe me I know how scary it is. I've lost many a good man to that place, and geez, I never want that to happen again

Awesome! Sounds like its going to be very involving and brilliant when we begin! Solid death sentence? O.o that does not sound good... Of all my characters Corisande is most likely to die I think. Dae has mad assassin skills and Ash can fight. Corisande is a poor, weak, young, defenceless citizen. I really fear for her life
