Backstory: So I work at an after-school academy in South Korea where I teach English to elementary students. Every semester, the students write a paragraph or so that we call their Dream Letter. The topic for Summer was "My Perfect Summer Day". I just got the topic for Fall and it is called "My Superpower Wish". I was starting to work on my sample 'letter' when I thought this would be a fun thing to do with Spam.

Rules:

    1. Pick ONE superpower you wish you could have.
    2. Write one paragraph (max. 10 sentences) on what it would be, why you want it, and what you would do with this power.
    3. Write in simple sentences. Don't make this complicated, it was made for elementary school students
    4. Have fun, and don't tell people they picked stupid powers.
    5. DO not pick some 'cheater' power where you have ALL the powers. That isn't following the first rule.

Okay, GO!

I'd take Metapotence. Which is "Power to do anything without justification." It also makes whatever I do possible, even if it breaks people's mind. So I'd just train my troll logic and have fun on the expense of other people.

I'd choose the ability to change anything within reason. So I could change a bullet into a snowball. I could change water into ice. I could change a house into a skyscraper. That kind of stuff. Change fire into steam. Etc etc.

You guys are cheating! That isn't picking ONE power. It ruins the fun when everyone is trying to out Meta someone else.

I would want the power of heart. It's not big and cool like other powers, but it can make people feel good. It can help people who have been hurt, and help others to stop fighting. Everyone likes feeling good, and I could help a lot of people, which is pretty cool.

Because someone needs to do a post in this thread in the spirit of the thread <_<

My superpower wish would be ice. I pick this power because I love winter. I like cold weather, and think ice and snow are pretty. If I have this power, I can keep myself cool in the summer. I can make it snow whenever I want. I would make snowmen in the summer and stop my ice cream from melting. Also, I could be a superhero. I would use ice to stop bad guys. I will put ice on their feet so they can not run away. Last, I will live in a building made of ice, because I will not be cold.

( Totally wrote that like I was 8 years old. Go me! ^_^ )

Technically, they are only picking one power each. Almost every power has some subsets to it, such as ice powers (creation of ice, control of it, probably limited weather control, etc). If you want to claim that they're in violation of a rule, you could argue that Koka's verging on, if not rolling around in meta, but lay off of Derp. Transfiguration, for lack of a better word, especially in relative equivalent exchanges is totally a fair superpower, although probably not one of the six that an eight year old might write down. Being writers on a roleplaying forum, we're not gonna play this game exactly like the grade schoolers in Korea, and that's part of the fun... or else you wouldn't have posted this thread.

I'd want the power to cast illusions. I don't know what I would do with it, necessarily, besides tricking people into seeing things my way. I might be inclined to use it to conjure pleasant images, too, but that level of decadence doesn't appeal to me.

I refuse to adhere to 3.

I'd wish for Telekinesis. I love the idea of moving objects and other things with the power of my mind, being able to levitate myself in the air and fly around has to be really cool, plus I'd be a powerful individual. I'd most likely use it for fame and fortune, showing off what I could do. I'd also use it to protect the people I love, and to help the occasional bystander.

It was hard to choose just one power ;-;

Yeah, but I feel like most Super Heroes only have one or maybe 2 powers. There can only be one Superman and he already exists. Also, forcing people to make choices is fun! :D

I want to be able to project my spirit into animals and possess them. If this had to be limited to one group in particular, I'd choose arthropods (though that's a pretty huge group). My human body could lie around and sleep while I flew around as a moth or hunted as a spider, and I could use it for getting trapped or pest insects out safely for both of us. Or I could indulge myself and possess a wasp, which would conveniently sting people I dislike. Expanding on this I could probably possess any number of spiders and become an untraceable assassin, but... Neh. Anyway, there'd probably be a range limit.

The power of money and time.

Okay, Elly already took my idea, so I'll come up with another one: super-intelligence. With it comes the ability to understand the world, to create fantastic and fantastical new things to benefit the human race, and to generally progress the world so that it is better for everybody. I also think that an extremely high intelligence can make a person very understanding of others' thoughts, feelings, and opinions (I'm talking superpower-level, polymath-type genius; of course we all know smart people who are callous twats). With that, you could benefit and support the people you love and care about, too.

I would choose the power to read people's minds. If you know what someone is thinking you can influence them subtly and effectively. You can also help people by knowing what kind of thoughts are troubling them, it will help you to better understand what they're going through. I think this would be the most useful power to have in everyday life, it can help you make decisions on the kinds of people you want to be around as well as warn you about people who intend to harm you. In addition it will help you be more adaptable in social situations and in the workplace, especially jobs that work with people. Also you can know why babies cry all the time and know what will make them stop crying. But I would only want this power if I was able to turn it off sometimes because I don't want to know what people are thinking all the time.

Definitely xD.

Well, that's why I chose Telekinesis, because it's so damnn versatile, you can do almost anything with it.

I'd pick teleportation, preferably some variant where I can appear where I am looking, and/ or that one in Jumper where you can look at a photo and show up where the picture was taken. I would like to travel with this, use it to play pranks, explore, and I'd be unstoppable in stuff like paintball, and if I went skiing I wouldn't have to ride the lift. Also, I could use it to get around work faster and avoid people and things I'd rather not deal with. It would also be invaluable for escaping immediate danger. You can't maul me, mister bear; I'm already back at the lodge drinking whiskey.

Something I have always thought of was the power of smoke-manipulation. The power of this ability could range for a mediocre character to a very serious threat, but there can be many applications for the ability to control or generate smoke. The obvious one is creating a smoke-screen, limiting vision and making it difficult to breathe for any enemies. You could also use smoke to deliberately blind or choke a person, make signals/shapes, or just make people high. Some of the high-end powers I have thought up include teleportation and item generation. The teleport is rather restricted, if you see a column of smoke from your current position, you could evaporate into a cloud of smoke and appear from the column seen earlier. Item generation goes in the way that you would be able to craft something out of smoke, and it takes a semi-solid form. Think of robes or armor made out of smoke, that swirl and look all mysterious, or dual swords that leave smoke trails when swung.

I would totally have Necromancy. Not because I'd make everything spooky wherever I go, but think about it, I'd just resurrect a historical figure and ask them stuff about their time. Oh what's that you say? Their vocal cords would be rotten and thus they'd be unable to speak? NOPE, JUST STICK A PENCIL IN BETWEEN THEIR BONEY FINGERS AND THEY'D WRITE STUFF. Also I would wear a cool spooky robe and build an army of skeletons and trigger the prophesied Skeleton War. Skin colour, Age, Gender, Sexuality, Creed, it matters not. Bone is bone. It all rattles the same. I won't lie to you, there will be boneshed, but the sweet loot we gain will be worth it. Yarr!

Good Luck. Simple but effective, my life would turn into a joke. A very enjoyable one. I mean sure I'm still more or less human but think of all the things in life that would suddenly go my way all the time as well as all the problems I'd casually avoid. But that's not what makes this power awesome; what makes it awesome would be all the random lucky coincidences and events which would periodically occur in my fortuitous life. Kinda like playing life with Wild Wasteland forever.
