She's definitely, um, really... happy? In a serial-killer kind of way?

EDIT: And, yeah, I'm working on the sheet right now, have it about half-way complete. I made her fairly important, if that's alright (she's part of Twilight's branch of the Royal Guard, and the Princess asked her to join the EEL so that they'd be more prepared for any unknown dangers they might come across out there).

I love it.

And I don't see any issue with her position. Father's pretty open minded, I'm pretty sure he won't mind, either. I'm glad we're getting a griffon in, could effect Swifthoof's opinion on the race somewhat, but only time will tell.

That's perfectly fine. I'll be honest, I don't care all that much about their origins(except when they're a prince or something like that), as long as the character is interesting. So yeah, looking forward to the griffon gal. One more CS and the IC can begin. :>

Name: Long Haul

Race: Earth Pony (Technical breed: Icelandic Horse/Pony)

Sex: Male

Appearance: (I'll give a short description now, but a picture will come post haste.)
-Height: 4'11"
-Weight: 720 lbs
-Coat: Sepia
-Mane: Deep grey with lighter grey around the ears.
-Cutie Mark: A tow hook, slightly rusted.
-Hooves: Deep Chestnut
-Eye Color: Brown
-Accessories: A yoke with a length of rope that ends in an iron tow hook.

Age: 43

Personality: A laborer at heart, Long Haul is a devoted worker and nothing could stop him from completing his work. And by nothing, I mean nothing. Outside of working he's a pleasant individual, not very talkative though.

Reason for joining the League: Break away from the mundane day to day work and actually explore the world.

Bio: Born just south of Appleoosa to a ranching family, he was raised hardy and strong. He was a dutiful worker and did good work, no matter what the task. He reached about 13 before he had received his cutie mark, a few folks from Appleoosa needed help after their cart had broken down. Instead of just fixing it, he latched the entire cart to his yoke and hauled it all the way to Ponyville. Upon arrival he noticed that it had emerged on his flank, ever since then he's devoted his life to hauling heavy loads cross country. Long Haul has become quite proficient with his tow hook and can toss it great distances. Occasionally needing to tow fallen carts back up cliffs from accidents.

Now at the respectable age of 43, he has grown weary of his work and needs something to spice up his life. So he chose to join up with the Equestria Explorer's League to add something interesting and fun to his life.

I like it, she's certainly a welcomed addition in my opinion.

Now, time to do a little something about the one race that is being ignored...

@Imperfectionist - I rather like this one. It adds more detail to the world that's about to be expanded by the League. Your character is gladly accepted and kudos on the great amount of detail.

@LeeRoy - Accepted, but please do something about that weight. It's a bit...too unrealistic.

Oh right. Strangelander: Feel free to make a Deer, I think I'm going to change to one of the races nobody has used yet. Probably a Donkey.

"Icelandic horses weigh between 330 and 380 kilograms (730 and 840 lb) and stand an average of 13 and 14 hands (52 and 56 inches, 132 and 142 cm) high, which is often considered pony size, but breeders and breed registries always refer to Icelandics as horses."

The weight is exactly within reason, equines are 100% muscle.

:P Earth ponies are, at least. The other types have more variable and unrealistic weights and musculature.

Anyway, I'm glad you both like her! :) Clipper definitely works much better as a Griffon than she would have as a Pegasus.

Well fine. Wasn't sure that we were going about this with an actual system to measure the equine-folk's height and weight and that they counted as Icelandic horses. Previous comment retracted.

@Raddum: I'm actually making a zebra right now. Specifically one with an interest (verging on obsession) with dangerous creatures. Well, she likes the less dangerous ones too but they aren't as interesting. I'm half-way done with the bio, and I need a name...

Name: 'Detective' Dink Sleuth

Race: Donkey

Sex: Male

Appearance: Standing at 4'9", Dink has a gray coat, that goes well with his combed black mane. The hair at the end of his tail is shaped like a question mark, and carries the same color as his mane. His eyes are baby-blue, and though he doesn't wear a snappy suit, he does wear a gray fedora, which his large ears stick out of. Like most donkeys, he doesn't appear to be too out of shape, but he doesn't look like an athlete, either.

Age: 35

Personality: Dink can come off as overly serious at times when it comes to his job, no matter how silly the situation at hoof is. He is usually calm, not allowing things to get the better of him, therefor allowing him to challenge them more easily, having an open mind about situations, not wanting to take one side too easily in certain conflicts. There isn't a case he won't try to solve, no matter what difficulties lie in the way... This doesn't mean he is careless, however. Trotting strait into danger isn't something he'll do unless the situation is serious, he is much more likely to take his time and be careful.

Reason for joining the League: To travel and bring his services to those all across Equestria. Of course, he also is an observant eye for The League, noticing details that others wouldn't. He's got an eye for 'these things', or as he'd tell you, two eyes.

Bio: Dink, or as he was called when he was little, 'Dinky', grew up in Manehatten, not too bothered by the big city. It was noisy, busy, and there was a fair amount of crime. When when he was an Itty Bitty Donkey, Dink wanted to solve the issues of the ponies around him. He began with small cases... Finding where naughty colts and fillies hid their vegetables from their parents. He was usually rewarded for his efforts, which made him pursue more cases, Dinky looked into thefts, and other odd problems the general population was having, earning a name for himself.

As he grew, he continued challenging any case thrown at him, nothing was too small, or too big. He could have easily stayed in Manehatten for the rest of his days and took their cases there, but he wanted to go out and see the world. He wasn't little Dinky anymore, he was Dink. Dink Sleuth.

Once he left the large city, he traveled through the countryside. From Hollow Shades to Vanhoover, he solved any cases he was challenged with. His journey eventually led him to meeting a traveling companion, a Zebra by the name of Zeila Xehonort. He met her in a fiasco involving A colt, a Dragon, and a spatchula. He doesn't speak of it, and neither does she. They stuck together afterwards, that's the only thing that needed to be said.

Curious about the Equestrian Explorer's League and the possible locations he'd get to see, it was only natural for Dink to join up. Those lesser explored lands might need sime help here and there, and Dink knew he was just the mule for the job.
Venom is making Zeila's CS, he'll have it up soon-ish, I believe.

And I guess I'll just keep Swifthoof in my lineup, considering we have no other Deer, Strangelander. No issue.

Good news, everyone. Now that I've reached my preferred number of people, I'll start the IC and arrange the posting order. Though, there are just too many characters for a single group(which my was first intention). To remedy this, I was thinking of splitting the group up into two smaller individual groups. What do think about this? Does two groups sound like a thing or would you all rather the big group?

Name: Zelia Xehonort
Race: Zebra
Sex: Female
Appearance:As expected she stands tall at 5'0, her posture makes her seem to look down on others not that its her intent but it happens. Her mane is kept in a rather strange manner Starting off as spikes falling back into a standard flow, she used to try and flatten it but she gave up on it after a while. Notable are her Dark blue stripes, many times shes been accused of dying it. Notably she lacks a cutiemark.
Personality: Ice comes to mind, but its just because of her lack of empathy. She enjoys creating things and she likes to see others creations, but she can become perturbed when others fail to appreciate the effort that goes into it. She does well to maintain composure no matter how exciting the situation, but if shes annoyed or overjoyed she has a tell. "But if you ever raise alarm, I swear on all that is smooth I will bring you physical harm!"

Age:18
Reason for joining the League: She follows Dink around and takes it upon herself to act as a translator/manager/pain in the flank. She also enjoys the ideals that the league represents.
Bio: Its stranger for one to be talented in many things but still not have ones Mark. Her father suggest that its because of her overly tense personality. Its not that she has talents in the things its her self scrutiny that wont let her just try she must do. But what does he know, hes a full bred spell spinner! Its not even right, with so little effort he accomplishes so much. His cutie mark is even a blasted Joker.....Mother always said he was a wild card.
While she acted like things didn't bother her, the other little colts and fillies made fun of her, the bizarre stripes and mane..Plus her bad habit of speaking in rhyme. She set them all aside Forget friends, forget family, all she cared about was finding out what could make her happy. But as mentioned she couldn't be happy unless she was excellent at whatever it was, this does not mean she was a natural, no, its the opposite she would obsess till it was like breathing.
Rather than continue to live with her surprisingly aloof parents this little zebra preferred to not be associated with two who are so....Rough. As she was working as a cook, she enjoyed the work but a situation arose...That dang Spatula!

Since then she has promoted herself to act as Dink's personal assistant. Though Dink never had a problem with work before, She points out a 37% increase in his bits and hes eating far better, And honestly the art around his office is much more meaningful. Though she has been finding herself speaking in rhyme far more since.....

Well, with a posting order, yes, one large group would be more difficult to pull off... But does there have to be one? I have almost never found that they added anything to an RP (usually the opposite). Without a posting order, the large group might organically split into smaller groups, or it might not, you know? You don't have to force it.

Basically, when there's a posting order, the majority of the players at any one time are super-bored, waiting for someone else to post. -shrug- I don't like that. There's my two bits.

I suggest we just have a minor rule to prevent speed posting, maybe wait for two-three people to post before you post again. While waiting for someone to post can be boring, having a few people making back-to-back posts is worse, at least to me.

Sure, if they're really shitty posts, but if everyone cares enough to put effort into what they write, they won't be (this isn't free, you know?). A case-by-case basis is the best way to handle it, not setting up arbitrary limits that stifle creativity.

Speed-posting is a mark of a bad player. Maybe we just shouldn't have bad players in the game?

I'm fine with or without a posting order, but Raddums wait for one or two other people to post works for me.

I probably will barely be on for the rest of the weekend, but I'll be able to post on Monday. Here's my character though!
Name: Kali

Race: Zebra

Appearance: Kali has has a very light gray coat adorned with dark gray (though not quite black) stripes, primarily on her back and legs. Her mane alternates between coal black and snow white and is spiked, though it bends forwards and is cut short at the back. Her tail is longish and tapers to a point. Compared to other Zebra's, Kali is small though she makes up for it with her agility (all the better for avoiding being eaten by a subject!). Her glyph is a sort of Y symbol, though with a third line in the middle that makes it resemble a claw. She wears a simple saddlebag filled with books on all sorts of dangerous creatures throughout the known world and a necklace adorned with multi-colored feathers. On her left foreleg she wears a set of bands made of iron.

Age: 27

Personality: Kali is very curious about EVERYTHING, possibly to the point of it being dangerous (especially with her area of expertise). Unfortunately, she also misses finer details and tends to run into trouble head first. She talks fast and gets overexcited, though other times she is very mellow and is more able to focus on the task at hand, whatever it may be.

Reason for joining the League: To find all manner of dangerous beasts across the world! And hopefully write a book on them.

Bio: Kali was born to a pair of immigrant zebra researchers in a small pony town in the middle of nowhere, Equestria. Her parents seemed to always be busy with work, though her father always found time to tell her stories about their more active life before Kali's birth. They traveled the world, discovering things thought to be long lost and researching the flora and fauna of the world. Kali spent her days daydreaming about traveling the world, and lived on a steady diet of books about the more exotic locales of Equestria and beyond as well as plenty of adventure novels like Daring Do. This eventually led to multiple incidents of her running off to go explore whatever seemed interesting at the time, which brought about some story-worthy moments.
In her teenage years, her parents made a decision: they would be moving to a city. The city in fact. At first, Kali was excited at the prospect of living in Manehattan, but when she actually came to the city she found she found the skyscrapers and constant bustle claustrophobic in a way. When she finished her schooling, she left home and followed her dream of traveling... At least to places that she could reach by train. Unfortunately, she wasn't the most well off economically. She found herself in Ponyville, home of the infamous Everfree Forest, and she was amazed. Animals had always intrigued her, but in the Everfree she found beasts like manticores, cockatrices, and timberwolves that were so... Majestic! She observed them, at a distance at first, and collected her knowledge in a journal as well as studying the books of others who had done research on these beasts and many others. Soon enough, she was a self-proclaimed "expert" on all sorts of creatures, both dangerous and not. She heard about the League and that it was her duty as an "expert" to join on this trip and document whatever creatures they met along the way.
@Imperfectionist: Yes, I suppose Griffons do count as dangerous, and Rosie seems to be especially so...
