Name: To be named
Race: Magical Pet – Breed: Ratel
Age: When in human form looks about 18-20
Height: 6' 7”
Weight: 153lbs
Hair: Waist length, shaggy, black on the sides with a thick white stripe down the middle, bangs are nose length, just as shaggy, and same coloration.
Eyes: Black.
Skin: Faintly tanned and harder than a human's.
Build: Faint muscle definition but not overly muscular. Like a gymnast minus the ripped stomach and bulging pecs.
Extra: When shifted from animal to humanoid form it retains several traits from it's animal form including ears, claws, fangs, and tail. Ears are a little higher than on a human and buried in the thick hair, claws are a bit shorter but stronger, fangs fit comfortably in the human mouth, and the tail is markedly longer brushing his calves when standing.
Clothes: None
Accessories: Whatever, if anything, the prince uses to mark him as his.
Powers/Skills(If Applicable): Good at climbing, claws allow for easy rending of flesh and other things as well as making him good at digging. Tough skin is hard to pierce and sense of smell is far better than a human's. It's magic is mostly based around survival but it has the ability to learn new spells quickly. As a youngster it can not manipulate the magical realm as others do. It is an excellent hunter and can fight even when badly injured.
General Personality: He is generally friendly and likes exploring. He will approach just about anyone with openness, but if provoked too long he will lash out. His temper is hard to cool and he can hold a grudge, but in general he doesn't like being angry. He is easily placated with his favorite treat, honey, but isn't a fool and will not drop an issue just because he got a treat. He can be very stubborn and hates giving up on anything.
Background: As a whelp he was very explorative and as such he fell into a special category of his race. His curiosity marked him as a potential and he was taken away for training in the human world. He had no idea why he was taken away, his mind not able to comprehend until a year later so he spent a lot of time trying to flee. However eventually he ended up bonding with one of his trainers, a puma, and began his training in earnest. It had long been known that if the humans continued having their way that eventually there would be no place for him and his kind in their world and they would be driven out altogether. Unwilling to put up with that, potentials were brought to the human realm and trained in the ways of humans so they would be able to, hopefully, communicate and make peace with them.
He was interested in this idea and after the initial shock, took to his studies like a duck to water. He progressed and developed quickly, his mind and abilities growing father than the rest from his generation. Others ahead of him in line went out to various human villages when they were thought ready, but none yet have reported any progress, the communication barrier still a major road block. Most of his fellows reported back that they were treated decently and were praised for being smart, but they were still treated as beasts and nothing more. He became a little discouraged by these reports but was still determined to do his best. When a sudden call from one who understood and respected magic for one of his kind, the elders decided that rather than sending one from the magical realm as they would normally do, they thought that this was the perfect opportunity to try communicating with a human in higher authority and, skipping over the older trainees, they decided to send him.

I went through my national geographic animal books to find something interesting and found the Ratel, commonly known as a honey badger :P It's kinda tough so I'm thinking that the wound inflicted should be a burn or else he's gonna hafta hit my guy really hard with something :P I think he looks cool :P It was either a Ratel, Large Spotted Genet, or a African Wild Dog. I like what I picked :P
