My thoughts on:A reboot.Definitely not opposed, though I just got here. Changes would have to be made.Sparks.Again, I just got here but I think he got fed up with all the 'fleshing out' of everything, which applied structure where he wanted none. Focus was taken away from PC's and put on the conflict of empires and nations. I think my character was the last straw as I needed to ask him about relics, their history, and the Old Kingdom to make my character function. I imagine trying to have him apply a specific backstory to the one thing that was never supposed to be known pushed him over the edge, and I feel terrible.Invasion.Yes, this should very much happen at some point, but not at all the way it went. These are merely my opinions, but I believe the invasion was terrible. It was portrayed as an unstoppable steamroller of fuck you, with every attempt to stop it only making it worse. We can debate realism all we want but a satisfying siege to play in SHOULD NOT work that way. Losing is fine, but it should really feel like the attackers have to work their asses off to do it. Sure, you lost, but look how long you held them off? you gave it your best shot. This makes the PC feel a lot better if the defense they participated in had any backbone, as well as letting everyone know how badass the attackers are for having won. It cost them, but I would also argue that it not be mandated that loss is just a thing that will happen no matter what, but whatever.Realism. I disagree with Ellri tremendously on this point. There needs to be a balance, extreme realism (magic aside) is as boring and bullshit as chainmail bikinis. A good medium between looking cool and being functional. Even if crossbows would realistically be unavailable, goddamnit, their cool. I think detail really fleshes out a story but we cannot get too caught up in it.Old Blood.Bad idea. It implies that the wielder of the relic is just born that way, as opposed to being special because the relic chose them. My relic found me, out of everyone in the world, to be the one person worthy of wielding its power, that's badass. "Oh, my Great Great Great Great Great Great Great uncle was a king" isn't as cool.GM. I'd pick Alida, but she doesn't want to do it. Ellri is smart as hell, dedicated, but I think lacks the... charisma. Not that I'm suggesting myself! I am NO GOOD at the GM dance. However, I only really know Ellri, so I pick them (they? Are you multiple people or do you just prefer an odd pronoun?) Now, I'm kind of a dick, I'm sorry but I'm just speaking my mind.I took issue with a lot of things as the RP was very different than what reading the OP led me to believe, so I freaked the fuck out when things started going the way they did, and I am eternally ashamed of my tantrum. Now, this begs the question: how to fit my character in?

I agree with the idea of relics finding someone out because they are "Special" if they're far and few between and by that I mean like ten relics. How many are there so far described? 30? More seen in passing? If they chose people because they were "Special" the original creators must of had a bitching of a time putting them to good use...

@Freeshooter, Don't feel bad about pushing Sparks over the edge, it was bound to happen sometime, seeing how we were messing up his original concept :') I'm feeling a bit guilty myself, seeing how the details on Da-Hyun were the first really detailed ones in the lore-section.

Also, I wouldn't mind deviding the gm-ship with Ellri and/or Bark, I'm a rather willing to be a mediator to find a solution that everyone is happy with (if I happen to be online around that time), so I'd be interested in that part of gm-ship, though I know myself good enough that I'm not anywhere near qualified to be critical on people their cs or post, Ellri on the other hand is rather good at that.

But seeing how it's already past 12, I'll go to bed now and catch up on the OOC later. Ciao folks!

Wow you guys post a lot when im gone

Blood:
Despite the fact that my idea that they use blood for power, i dont like the idea that those who can use relics are determined by blood, or anything directly relating to thier birth. Im not against the relics seeming to have some sort of intelligence, as the idea of relics and evokers is that they have a close tie between each other. Perhaps something that determines an evoker should be much more subtle and hard to notice, because i dont like the idea of tieing too much canon to the relics. The Relics are a way to assist the plot, but they shouldn't be the whole plot.

Well the old kingdom is implied to have not needed to be tied by or to one relic, and that relics were like tools to them. I prefer the idea that a relic molds to its user, a user it somehow decrees fits into certain variables that are required to wield it. Relics ARE the magic, not a channeling for it, as i've understood. That would bring up questions as to how evokers learn to use magic and ask why they could only learn what they did. Relics change into something that fits their user, and once the user and relic are sufficiently intertwined, the relics power is locked into place.

GM:
We all have 2 votes right now, so it is still a tie. Im fine with Co-Gm with ellri and Alida.

So i wrote this huge thing and it didnt go through and i didnt save it so heres the shorter version:

Relics shouldnt be tied by blood, it should be something harder to know and difficult to understand, just like the relics
I believed relics were the magic themselves, not a conduit for it, as being a way to use the magic brings up too many quesstions about why one can learn soemthing but another cant, Relics are the mode of storytelling and setting, and i dont think they should be the main story, they're there to make the story intersting and knowing too much about them or straying too far from them will make the story substancianally change
This should be free-form without too much back-story getting in the way of chactor creation and stories

As for Gm i am more then happy to split the job with alida and ellri

If my opinion has any say, I'd like a say.

What Myth is is a Legacy. His father was a Relicuser, and his father before him, and so on, all the way to the Fall of the Old Kingdom or maybe even farther. Picking someone entirely based on their personality and the like means that this would not be so. So maybe something in between? They choose someone special that knows or is a natural at something? That they have or will dedicate their life to a specific skill or mindset? Idk. My story is that Myth wears the same gloves as all his fathers before him, and while it gave him lightning and energy control, it has also extended the health and lifespan of himself and all who bonded with the gloves. Another thing is that when Myth's unnamed father retired to his estate to raise his son, what did he give Myth early in his childhood? The Gauntlets. So when his father retired to train the heir to their Legacy, the gloves, forever bonded, fell off. That is what I have to say.

the idea we based some imperial evokers around was not directly blood = compatability & better blood = higher compatability, but rather that those with more "pure" blood, if such can even be said after a thousand years, had more of that undefinable magical component that makes them interesting to the relics. Thus it can be bred, but not necessarily successfully. Magic, as everyone knows, can be fickle. The child of two with strong blood might have strong blood, but doesn't have to have strong compatibility.

As for the charisma bit, Free... We fully agree.
We're not charismatic in that way. Throw us in the gritty lore, no problem. Make us deal with people and we're not as good.
We're willing to co-GM with many of the others here, Both Barks and Alida, wethinks would work very well. We don't know you too well, Barks, but we're sure that can be fixed.

We think you've got enough GMing to deal with as it is, thats why we're not recommending you, Sep. Its better for all your RPs to stick to GMing just a few.

you could draw on that image for roughly how you imagine that kingdom you spoke of as being shaped. We can later draw in nicer borders between nations.

Also it's 2,2,2 plus if you include freeshooters vote on the OOC, dunno if he sent it on the poll. Though he voted for Ellri.

I voted for Alida, but expressed a desire to revoke it and throw it to Ellri, but I now believe a Co-GM situation with Ellri doing details and management whilst Alida is the people person seems to be a sound arrangement.

I am personally not overly fond of a reboot, for several reasons, the main one being that the event based manner in which I craft my characters gives them a very low reboot survival rate, and I hate losing characters to such things.

On the other hand, I know that a reboot would be extremely beneficial for the RP overall...

As for GMs, while it is a proven fact that I compliment Ellri very well as a GM, I am not sufficiently invested in this to offer myself as a GM, nor do I believe I need to with the other competant individuals already putting themselves forward for the task.

As for content and lore....

I'm not a great one to come to for new ideas, i'm far better at picking through inconsistencies in things others put forward.

That will depend entirely on whether Alessia is still a viable character in the end product.

I would say that she is very viable actually. The invasion will still happen after all, and seeing how the Empire has a rather large advantage tacticalwise (if that even is a word), I have little doubt that Amaryth will fall at some point, after which Alessia could play her part as a noble and during which her relic powers will be as useful as they were during this IC. Perhaps you could create a second character until the invasion starts or you could write about Alessia her life untill the invasion actually starts, but that's entirely up to you of course. I agree that it would be a shame to throw away characters that we put a lot of love and effort in. Alessia is obviously such a character.

So personally I think it would be a good idea to think about a plot in which all current pc characters fit. I guess I'll first throw that into the gm pm and make sure we either pm people about what they want or throw it up here (or in a second OOC).

Well, don't tell us TOO much, and as Maki said he doesn't particularly want to be forced into a plot so I think it should be left open.

Also if acceptable I would create a small part of lore and a small society.

yes, we agree. Plot should be fitted to the current PCs (unless someone of course makes it clear a PC of theirs will be discarded as part of reboot.

Another thing we feel is important for the plot is that there won't be any railroading. This plot here should be an option. If someone can find a decent reason to go off on a tangent, who are we to stop him/her?

I have one question:

dragons?

I will make a run for any dragon. Myth will follow rumors of dragons to the towns at which they originate, and then he will go to where they say there is a dragon. He'll probably do what is essentially tazing if the dragon is hostile.

If dragons are real, who will play the dragon?

I would play a dragon, if that were acceptable. Maybe skyrim-sized dragons?

I am likely to make Kheris my primary unless Wilson wants more Myth/Tyrell action. Though Kheris wouldn't be as powerful, would take longer to learn new abilities but wouldn't have the necessity to absorb the life force of people. As such he'll have had the relic for a short time. I may even just make Tyrell but with the relic Kheris currently uses.
