He nodded, taking continuous notes. The girlish laughter in his head was creepy. She laughed harder because she knew it was.Conrad scowled at the lack of answers. This was going to be hard. Jorn pretty much summed up his concerns, if a little extreme... And he also cut into himself? The other girl... Evang. No, Evelyn, seemed a bit intimidated, glancing at them all as if they were crazies.“Alright, I got a solution. I get that Katherine believes this is real, but clearly it isn’t enough for the rest of us. So lets set up a series of tests.”Conrad waved his notebook.“Evelyn can be tested pretty easily, but we don’t know how much pain she would go through.”He turned to point at Tiffany.“If Tiffany really has the ability to tell the truth, as Katherine claims, then you can easily test her by telling about yourself. She would know of any falsehoods immediately, if she really is Lie’s host.”He turned slightly to regard Jorn. “As for you... I don’t want to think about it... And as for myself? I don’t know of a way to test it. I guess for all we know I am the only insane one here, and the rest of you really are possessed.”

Tiffany glanced up. They all probably thought she was crazy. "Um, if I really a-am the... keeper of lies," She mumbled, turning to Conrad. "Then y-y could, um, just tell me you have a demon. Th-then I could, well, you know..." Evelyn seemed the most sane, but they were all in quite a predicament. "I think we should hold off testing our... i-immortality for a while." She stuttered, slowly standing and steadying herself. The voice was gone now, but how long until it came back? She looked between all of them, wondering what their past lives had been like. Tiffany knew that she was the youngest, and she felt slightly insecure. The others could all manage themselves, but what could she do?

What do you mean 'what can I do'?! You should feel honored, you ingrate! You have one of the twelve greatest demon lords in you head, giving you the ability to see the truth! No one can ever deceive us again. You better get used to it, we're going to be with each other for the rest of eternity!

Tiffany shook her head. She wouldn't let it get to her, she had to be strong. They had been through this before, the demon taunting her with the prospect of eternal life, of watching everyone she ever loved slowly die before her eyes. She settled her gaze on Katherine. The woman seemed to know what she was doing. Tiffany hoped that they could finally figure out what was going on, and maybe get some help. Just as long as they could find a way to make the voices stop. Tiffany wasn't sure how long she could keep going without automatically telling everyone when someone was lying.

Actually a test is a good idea. Katherin wrote her agreement. She wondered how she could prove she was the keeper of secrets. She would have to sort through the secrets she had gotten from them for something she wouldn't be able to discover online. But they could do the others quick enough. Evelyn I challenge you to guess whether a coin will land heads up or heads down. She held up a quarter.

Evelyn’s eyes widened when Conrad said testing on her was easy, though a look of relief spread through her when he questioned the pain she would experience. ”Yeah, test Tiffany…” she said quietly, a pleading look. Unfortunately, Evie looked up at what Katherin was writing and saw the challenge she posed her. A rush went through her and her head began to buzz. She searched for the right answer, really wanting to win. ”Heads! No tails… no wait… yeah. Heads!” Evelyn said with the enthusiasm of a gambler before a roll of a die.

Katherin felt sort of guilty. She tried to pick a small challenge. One that she hoped that wouldn't hurt to much. She tossed the coin into the air. It spun in the air. She held her breath hoping that hit would land heads up. She watched the coin as it landed. It landed on heads up. Katherin breathed a sigh of relief.

Evelyn watched, biting her lip as Katherin flipped the coin. When it landed heads up, she smiled widely and put her hands on her hips. "HA! Told you," she said happily, a rush coming to her like one would get after an energy drink. She looked a bit confused after a few seconds though, as the words blurted from her mouth and the excitement she'd had before and after the coin toss were very unlike her normal nature. She was the girl on the team that passed to everyone. She hated competition. She wanted to have fun. This... need to be right and win was so unlike her. She looked at the others with a sheepish, apologetic smile while clearing her throat. "Umm... well... that did feel awesome... and I have no idea why," she said, alluding to the fact that Katherin was probably, in fact, correct in what she was telling them.

a single bag over his shoulder, thick black leather gloves covered his hands, his jacket matching type covered his entire upper half, and under that he had a long sleeve shirt on. it was all black, everything he wore was black as he walked up to the front of the castle. he had gotten an email claiming there were answers here, and he needed answers "you dont need answers, i've offered all the answers you could ever want or need" the voice said in the back of his mind, but like he had been doing for the past months he'd ignored it, hoping that eventually it would go away. reaching the door, he first pushed his glasses back up, before he reached up and knocked. he stood tall, nearly 6'3.. his hair black and short but with just enough length to give it that wind blown effect. he had gotten the email only days after becoming the most wanted man in the crime part.. it hadnt been his fault, one of his employers.. a not so friendly mob boss who wanted a way to guess the outcomes of horse races had come to him and he'd delievered, that had been childs play really, but when the mob boss came back, broke cause the jockey had fallen off the horse during the race, he had tried to explain that there was only one sure thing, that there were no.. sure things. after that the night was a blur pretty much as he was getting his ass handed to him by the mob boss and his men til one of them after punching his face, had gasped, his eyes wide as he dropped dead.. again and again, the men dropped dead after touching him, til finally the mob boss himself had dropped dead, and he had begun his life in hiding. that was the first time he heard the voice too, in the back of his mind.

pulling his hand back after knocking he stood there, and waited for someone to answer and to start giving the answer the email had said would be given.

Katherin smiled relieved that her bet had gone well. Death is at the door. She nodded. She wrote on the projector. Be Right Back. Death has arrived. She grabbed her notebook and hurried to the door. She wrote another quick letter of introduction as she walked. She smiled as she opened the door. She had to look up because the guy at the door was nearly a foot taller then she was. She handed him a page that read:Welcome my name is Katherin. Welcome to my castles. I have some information that I hope you understand what is happening to you. The others are inside.

Even as his gaze sweep across the room, regarding each of its members frantically as though staring at them long enough would wake him up from this nightmare, the horrible reality that...that a demon of sorts was taking up residence in his body slowly crept in, and like the obstinate, malignant tumour that it was, it seems like its here to stay for good. And Jorn Wolff did not like that even one bit, his mind a whirling storm of activity as he slowly processed what he'd heard and seen so far. There had to be a way...a way to get this...this thing out of him...
Make no mistake, mortal, I dislike this notion as much as you do, now, if you just...

The voice had barely begun inside his head before he gripped tightly onto his right hand's index finger and pulled, the muffled, yet audible snap a clear indication that he just broke his finger. Jorn inhaled sharply as he resisted the urge to cry out from the pain, his expression hidden in the shadow of his brown hood. He was unsure if his actions caught any attention, but he didn't care nor did he heed if they would assume his actions to be strange. After all, strangeness seemed to be the currency around this madhouse. He needed the voice to stop, he needed his clarity of thoughts, his mind the last bastion of fortitude against the tide of dementia that threatened to overwhelm him. But even as he blinked away with watering eyes, he noticed the youngest girl, Tiffany seemed to be in pain too as she held her head as if it would explode, her words quivering and laced with agony, her pain seemingly almost equal or even greater than his own.
Tiffany said "S-she's not l-lying. I can... t-tell. We really do have d-d-demons in our heads. Can't you h-hear it? ...I-I'm so s-sorry. It just won't stop."

For a moment there, seeing that frail girl sitting on the floor, tears welling in her eyes, Jorn forgot about his pain, his suffering, his anguish, and he thought to move towards and reach out to her, his brows furrowed in concern and sympathy. Here is another poor soul, suffering from similar or worse consequences as he. And such a young, tender age too, with little or no one to share the burden of this pain with. Jorn suddenly felt ashamed of his actions. So much for being the eldest and supposedly most matured. Here are people, much younger than him, showing the strength of will and courage to calmly accept and face their predicaments head on, yet all he would do was to question and mock, dodging his problems without once considering that these people might have similar or worse situations. What a fool he was!
Certe, a faatus is what you are, if you would deny the veritas of those wiser than you. Listen, take heed and you might just learn something...

The voice shook Jorn from his revere and he immediately stopped in his tracks, his hand slightly outstretched. He quickly pulled it back and made a fist, staring at it vehemently. He'd seen what his touch could do to other people, despite the medical bandages that were wrapped around his hands. He'd certainly wouldn't want the same thing to happen to the poor girl in front of him, immortality or otherwise. In fact, the inability to die would just compound the effects of his touch...imagine being so ill that it would kill you, but yet be unable to die. That would be a horrible form of torture indeed. Grimacing as the thought of the implications of his horrible touch came to him, he glanced at Evelyn as she spoke, as she calmly stated that the only other explanation other than demonic possession would be a shared delusion, which frankly, even Jorn found to be even more far-fetched than the current explanation. However, he ignored her inquiries whether they're okay. It's was plainly obvious they were not, and he'd rather not state the obvious.

The other guy, Conrad seemed to be taking things in his stride as well, voicing out a way to test each individual demon's abilities. Jorn respected that quick-thinking of his and he slightly nodded before regarding Tiffany as she rose to her feet to speak. His musings was interrupted when he saw Katherine writing from the corner of his eye and looked at Evelyn with more than simple curiosity as she was challenged by Katherine to a simple game of heads and tails. However, her reaction to being challenged was definitely unusual and her vigor and enthusiasm during and after winning the game made him all the more curious. Jorn opened his mouth to ask a question but quickly closed it and passed it off as a cough instead as the hostess left the room to greet another person...'Death' supposedly, if there ever could be such person. Shouldn't Death be dead?
The carrier of diseases are more oft than not unaffected by the disease itself. It would be meaningless if the carrier were to die before disease would complete its purpose, no?

Jorn grumbled something intelligible as he flexed his fingers, his mood surly with the constant presence of the voice at the back of his head. And the nagging feeling that he'd missed something important did nothing to improve his temperament. Somehow, something seemed off. Something he wasn't noticing. Something recent and close.
Something like that finger you just broke?
Frowning, he flexed his fingers again. Startled, Jorn spoke whilst still staring at his right hand, "Hey, I'm not sure if you believe me, but I broke my right index finger just a while back and...well, it kinda healed up already."

Gabe stood at the door, waiting. as he waited his mind thought back to everything that he'd had been through since that night and his life had went from somewhat troubled to full blown difficult the night those men had dropped dead after hitting him or more exact, touching him. "and i've heard not one thank you for helping that night either, if not for me my human pet, you'd have been killed" Gabe set his jaw, ignoring the voice that echo'd from the deepest part of his mind. "its a kill or be killed world my young friend, and the sooner you realize that 'we' are at the top of that said scale the far better off this union will be.. you cant ignore me for Eternity after all" Gabe swallowed, and probably paled a bit at that thought.. Eternity, the way the voice said it, with such finality in its voice made him worried.

Dragged from his thoughts when the door opened and he looked down, seeing the young woman, he reached out his free hand and took the page, his eyes scanning over it quickly before he nodded. "Gabe, and thank you for the.. invite and i've come for your information on this matter and to find out where i can Aquire or Gain more" he stopped talking and looked back at the page, he had skimmed the last part but now. "wait, there are others?" looking past her, into the castle but he saw nothing or no one else. were there others that did what he did when touched? if so this place had become a powder keg just waiting for a match. his gloved hand that held the strap of his pack tightened, he took a moment to glance over his shoulder.. everyone had secrets, proven fact.. but for him, his secrets were more.. troublesome, for him and anyone else found with him.. those looking for him wouldnt hesitate to kill any and everyone he knew. turning toward Katherin he nodded. "please, lead the way" he was taking a chance. "stop with the nice guy, we have an image to up hold after all" the voice said as Gabe waited to be lead on

Katherin smiled and indicated for him to follow her. She hoped the others were alright. Things had been sort of tense when she left. She hadn't expected things to turn out like this. Although she wasn't really surprised. Even if the others had come to a place where they were willing to accept that something unexplainable was happening to them didn't mean that they were open to the idea of demons and eternal life. This was anything but a simple situation. She lead Gabe through the castle to the great room where the others where gathered. The situation looked about the same as when she had left. Everyone seem to have more questions then answers.

when she lead the way, Gabe followed, stepping into the threshold of the mystery and leaving behind the mundane. removing his satchel, he quickly stowed it right by the front door, it was a force of habit, when one lived a life like his, you prepared for whatever you could. catching back up with his host, Katherin he fell in line beside her just as they arrived at the great room. and Gabe looked to the others inside the room, a rag tag group if ever there was one, and really he didnt expect other people to be here. swallowing, he opened and closed his gloved hands, looking to make sure every bit of flesh was covered, if he could manage it and not look like some crazy, bank robber he'd don a ski mask just on principle.

Walking into the room slowly. "i wasnt aware that there were others or that there were going to be others here" he said, speaking loud enough for all of them to hear. "are all of you.. do you all kill people when they touch you as well?" he asked "ohh, your playing your hand a little to quick, telling them what you do, but i like it.. its what i would do as well" the voice said "i mean, who's going to claim to be better then the Demon of Death himself, am i right?" Gabe moved and dropped into a seat, sighing as he closed his eyes. "i need a drink or possibly two" all color had drained from his face because of what he just heard, what the voice had just revealed.

Death has arrived?! What did that mean? Oh wait… right… another demon. A person possessed by death though… that was rather frightening. Evelyn shifted uncomfortably as their host left, glancing towards Jorn as he mentioned his finger. She opened her mouth while furrowing her brow, but then closed it. Perhaps this was all true. Well. She certainly wasn’t hurting herself on purpose to find out. That was kind of crazy if it was all the truth. Possession she’d heard of after all. But immortality as a result? Bizarre on a whole other level. ”I believe you, Jorn,” Evie shrugged, not knowing if it meant much, but offering it anyway.

Katherin returned with a boy who seemed surprised to find others, and then asked if they killed people too. Alarm flew by Evelyn gaze as she looked to the others bewildered, wondering just what had entered their midst. ”Yeah… a drink sounds good to me too,” Evie mumbled, shaking her head. This was all crazy. She was suddenly wondering if she should be thankful she had Defeat and not something like this poor guy had. Then again, if they were immortal, they might be the only people he could touch. ”Um… what’s your name?” she asked the guy with gloves on, apparently a bringer of death, but one of them, afflicted, nonetheless.

Katherin winced at Gabe's question. She understood why he would ask it. She just wish he hadn't asked so bluntly. She shook her head silently. She was glad that she had gotten a non-lethal demon. She couldn't imagine what it was like to knowing that you were responsible ,even if it was indirectly, for the death of someone else. She gathered some sodas and started handing them out.

pinching the bridge of his nose for a moment, taking in just what the voice deep in the back of his mind had said, he opened his eyes, finding the one that agreed about that drink, he looked her over. even as she asked her question. "Gabe, my name is Gabe" looking up to Katherin as she passed out.. soda. "well not the drink i had in mind but it will do, thank you" he could use the caffine, big time.. cracking the top open he took a long deep drink, draining half of it in one go before sitting the can down. then he took the time to look around at the others that had gathered, then toward the overhead projector, seeing what was written on it, his brow arching as he read "Death had arrived" he looked to Katherin, how could she have known he and.. Death had arrived "im obviously late and probably have missed some things, give me the short version of what i missed.. please and where the conversation has left off"

Gabe, cracking open the Soda he took a long drink, letting the coolness and caffine work as he watched Katherin write out on the overhead. so there were twelve all together, but not twelve were there now, so some were missing he thought to himself. then hearing about how Katherin had said she tested herself and found she couldnt die. Gabe sighed and nodded. "it might mean nothing concidering i house Death but i should be dead two dozen times over. i've been stabbed, shot, beaten" he took a moment to think. "ran over twice, neck snapped, throat cut.. i can go on but." he shrugged. "the point is, i heal almost instantly and walk away from it, so if im not the only one that can do that, because i carry Death inside of me then its safe to assume that all of us are immortal" he rubbed his empty hand on his leg. "maybe." he added.. there was a way, possible that they could die, and it was if he touched them.. anyone thats come into contact with his bare skin had died instantly, like life had been sucked right out of them. "ah, dont focus on that, they deserved it.. well most of them that kind old lady at the bus station still had a good ten years left, but not anymore huh?" the voice said, and Gabe focused on ignoring it, that wasnt his fault.. none of it was his fault, she.. she shouldnt have grabbed his arm.

Katherin tilted her head as Secrets whispered to her about Gabe's fear. She wanted to reassure him but she wasn't sure that telling him that he couldn't kill them would help or not. One demon could not destroy another. She looked around the room They still had too many people panicking. She tapped the projector with her pen trying to get their attention. It was times like this that she missed being able to yell.

Tiffany looked up at Jorn, giving him a weak smile. "Thank you, i-it's alright." She sucked in a breath. now was not the time to be weak. Here were others, just like her, going through everything she was, and they weren't crying or breaking down.

"Hey, I'm not sure if you believe me, but I broke my right index finger just a while back and...well, it kinda healed up already." Tiffany glanced back up at Jorn as he said this, surprised and worried. Why was he breaking his fingers? Was that something people normally did when they found out they were possessed? She guessed they were the only ones who had this experience.

"Y-you shouldn't do that, even if we are... immortal." Tiffany hadn't thought of it before, but compared to her past she was relatively healthy. She flashed back to all the times she had been so sick she was bed ridden. She knew more about the doctors that treated her than her own classmates, which she had rarely interacted with. Now, she supposed, there wouldn't be a chance to talk to people without this condition normally, not without the voice ranting about how they were liars every time they told a fib. God, Lies was worse than any teacher with its constant lectures.

She was about to reach out to him for comfort, but was interrupted by Katherin walking back into the room, along with a man who wasn't there previously. Tiffany lowered her hand, wondering about the man. Was he the 'death' that Katherin had spoke- written of?

She listened to the conversation, accepting a drink. She swallowed some, before holding the can and swirling the rest around inside of it. "Um, so, does anyone want to, uh, tell me a lie and something true or something?" She hoped that would prove she wasn't crazy, just like the other girl, Evelyn, who had proven sane a few minutes ago.

Evie nodded as Gabe spoke his name, adding it to her mental list of who everyone was and what demon they supposedly had. She listened as he rattled off every way he should have died, wincing visibly at each until she felt very uncomfortable, shifting on her feet. She wasn’t freaking out about everything, but one had to admit this wasn’t exactly the greatest news in the world. She supposed it was better than a deadly illness, but still. She took the soda from Katherin and gave a meager wave to Gabe. ”I’m Evelyn, by the way.” she looked to Tiffany and hesitated, before shaking her head. ”I’d rather, for the moment, assume this is all true. Now, can we get some exorcisms started in here or what?” she asked, eager to have not only her own malady cured, but everyone else’s too.
