He nodded, taking continuous notes. The girlish laughter in his head was creepy. She laughed harder because she knew it was.Conrad scowled at the lack of answers. This was going to be hard. Jorn pretty much summed up his concerns, if a little extreme... And he also cut into himself? The other girl... Evang. No, Evelyn, seemed a bit intimidated, glancing at them all as if they were crazies.“Alright, I got a solution. I get that Katherine believes this is real, but clearly it isn’t enough for the rest of us. So lets set up a series of tests.”Conrad waved his notebook.“Evelyn can be tested pretty easily, but we don’t know how much pain she would go through.”He turned to point at Tiffany.“If Tiffany really has the ability to tell the truth, as Katherine claims, then you can easily test her by telling about yourself. She would know of any falsehoods immediately, if she really is Lie’s host.”He turned slightly to regard Jorn. “As for you... I don’t want to think about it... And as for myself? I don’t know of a way to test it. I guess for all we know I am the only insane one here, and the rest of you really are possessed.”
Tiffany glanced up. They all probably thought she was crazy. "Um, if I really a-am the... keeper of lies," She mumbled, turning to Conrad. "Then y-y could, um, just tell me you have a demon. Th-then I could, well, you know..." Evelyn seemed the most sane, but they were all in quite a predicament. "I think we should hold off testing our... i-immortality for a while." She stuttered, slowly standing and steadying herself. The voice was gone now, but how long until it came back? She looked between all of them, wondering what their past lives had been like. Tiffany knew that she was the youngest, and she felt slightly insecure. The others could all manage themselves, but what could she do?
What do you mean 'what can I do'?! You should feel honored, you ingrate! You have one of the twelve greatest demon lords in you head, giving you the ability to see the truth! No one can ever deceive us again. You better get used to it, we're going to be with each other for the rest of eternity!
Tiffany shook her head. She wouldn't let it get to her, she had to be strong. They had been through this before, the demon taunting her with the prospect of eternal life, of watching everyone she ever loved slowly die before her eyes. She settled her gaze on Katherine. The woman seemed to know what she was doing. Tiffany hoped that they could finally figure out what was going on, and maybe get some help. Just as long as they could find a way to make the voices stop. Tiffany wasn't sure how long she could keep going without automatically telling everyone when someone was lying.
