Name: Jinayah Ifriti
Alias: none yet
Age: 18
Appearance: 5'0, petite, black hair worn short and shaggy. Tends to pass for a young male when it suits her- which is most of the time.
Faction: Merry Men (she hopes)
Occupation: Pickpocket, freelance mechanic, runner
Bio: Jin had a rather normal life until she was about five. Her parents, who worked in the justice system, were killed by a criminal that her detective father put away years ago. Little Jin escaped because the criminal didn't know she existed.
Jin was heavily damaged by the event, and spent the next several years in and out of the foster system.
The loss of her parents made her terrified to connect, which made any potential new families hard pressed to deal with her. When she wasn't struggling through school or staying awake at night, she was between foster homes. The holding house for the foster children was a joke- Jin continued to sneak out over the years. Pickpocketing was easy when she was young, and had tiny hands. Soon enough, she moved onto conning tourists and playing the adorable lost child- an easy distraction for older thieves to work with. They taught her the finer points of lying and quick steals, and Jin felt far more comfortable on the street than in any house. Still, a part of her gripped tight to her faded memories of her parents. Knowing full well stealing was against the law, she tried to make up for it by giving away a portion of her proceeds to younger, hungrier children, those who couldn't make it without help.
She grew into an unsure, androgynous teenager, and managed to barely graduate high school before unceremoniously being dumped from the system after her 18th birthday. Now she's on her own for real, fixing cars and appliances, fixing card games and swiping wallets, and wondering if this is the rest of her life.
Personality: Sharp tongued, slow to trust, energetic, but with a deep (and sometimes illogical) hatred for rich people. Also has a definite geeky side when around cars or devices, like a kid in a candy store, if candy was gears. Seems unsure of herself without the tough street girl personality.
Skills/abilities: Pickpocketing, parkour (though she's never heard the term, what she does is more or less the same), agility, mathematics, mechanics
Family/Loves Ones?: When she lost her parents, she told herself she'd never care for anyone again. So far she's kept that promise.
Other: Apparently in Robin Hood lore, there's always one character for the "Saracen" role. Basically that was the term for Arabian people, or those of dark skin... I guess Jin suits this role.
Alright! Jin is all done and awaiting approval.
Also, the only thing I liked about Arrow was Slade. Mmm... I do love a bad boy. The accent helps. I cared more about the 'bad' guy than the main character. Oliver Queen bored me to tears.
