Sister Arturia of the Order of the Argent Shroud

The fact that he ran all but confirmed that the man was a criminal of some sort. If he was innocent, what fear would he have of the Emperor's servants? Of course, in Arturia's mind crime was tantamount to heresy; by doing dishonest work, you were wasting time that should be used for serving the Emperor, and not serving the Emperor was the definition of heresy.

"SURRENDER, HERETIC! THOSE WHO WILL NOT WALK IN THE EMPEROR'S LIGHT WILL DIE IN THE SHADOWS!" Screaming out her intent, she pulled the trigger of her bolter...

The bolter round strikes the fleeing man squarely in the chest, but sadly fails to completely eviscerate him. Sent flying by the blast, he lands awkwardly, amazingly intact but with his clothing in chatters and his body still in a sorry state. Somehow, he survived; but he's unconscious and completely unable to resist whatever you wish to do to him.

"*chckch* Nice shot, Sister. *chckch*" Axel nodded, running over to the blasted man. "*chckch* Might take him a while to wake up though. *chckch* *chckch* Next time, aim for the legs- at least that way we can interrogate him. *chckch*"

The Tech-Priest cautiously approached the fallen man, looking out for any backup he might have had, and of course getting ready to go through his pockets in search of marks of affiliation.

Praetia watched in amazement as the sister mercilessly gunned down the man for simply being there. She even went so far as to call for surrender after firing her first shots, which guaranteed he did not have a chance to as her shells ripped him open. Dumbfounded she almost took her eyes off the opening to look at the insane person cutting down anyone who had the misfortune of being on their path. Instead Praetia caught herself adjusted her grip seeing now that tech-priest was moving forward towards what was probably a rapidly cooling corpse. "Probably just plans to strip the tech from the flesh," she muttered under her breath and she stood up and began to walk slowly behind the tech-priest covering him in case anyone else showed up to take a chunk out of them for killing their friend.

Ethel would simply wait until the situation resolved itself and it was safe to identify and interrogate the poor idiot who had decided to spy on something obviously dangerous and got himself shot. As soon as he proved to be alone Ethel would join the rest in questioning the wounded man once he woke up and of course, join in the time-honored tradition of going through the man's clothes and gear for anything of use.

"S'pose that's what he gets for spying on us, eh?"

The scene was over before Virgyl had even gotten proper time to react to the whole affair. Shootings weren’t quite to his fancy, but he fancied running after the unidentified individual even less - it was most likely going to lead to certain doom. He remained where they had been walking before spotting their shady viewer, waiting for the others to finish their business with the individual - the adept had very little to contribute in this matter and cared even less to do so. Better to simply have their current job attended to and not get side-tracked.

The tech-priest whispered to Ethel, not bothering to activate the static at either end of his sentence.

"Okay, look buddy. I'm pretty sure the Sister's gonna shoot the guy again if she founds out he survived. He's breathing, barely, but I need you to help me make sure she doesn't go blowing the poor bastard's head off. The guy's probably got a family or something. Besides, I think you're the only one slick enough to save his life."

Soft, sure. But any mechanicus trainee knew that if you could repurpose a part- say, squeezing it for information or using it as a bargaining chip- it made no sense to get rid of it.

On him, the man has no form of ID, nothing really of note--a few shoddy coins that probably only serve as currency down here, bereft of any consistent worth--except for the obvious gun and some unlabelled chems in a pocket. The gun, on closer inspection, is standard Guard fare, with the numbers quite literally filed off. As a piñata, he's totally without value.

But still rather alive.

"Wha- me? Listen fella, I've never been one to get between guns and what they're pointin' at in times past and I don't intend to make a career out of it now, okay?"

Instead Ethel was content to let the Sister and the others do whatever interrogating or such that they saw fit to do rather than get in the way of their guns. The man hadn't exactly dropped his weapon and surrendered, which is what any smart and self-respecting hab-rat would do in that situation. Unless of course the pay was really good or the threat against them was really frightening. Even so, he'd run from long odds and there wasn't much Ethel could do for him.
