Warning: READING.
Back-story: The year is, well, actually it wouldn't matter if I told you, we dropped the whole number thing a long while ago for keeping dates... What matters, is this is along time from where or when you are now. Humans, are not alone in the universe, never have been. Near the end of the fourth world war, humans managed to reach to distances in space alive than ever before, and when they did, they found what we called The Arc.
The Arc, is a large vessel, massive. It has been created long ago, before our time, by a species on another planet that doesn't exist. It contained tons of information, messages and technologies. Taking as much critical data back to earth, and leaving a tracker for it to be found again, the travelers returned, explaining the lifeless and alien object. Astral maps, radio frequencies, communication devices. All were decoded for us to understand and expand upon. It marked the next big revolution.
A couple hundred years later. The best ship we could manage was built, it was sent to follow the coordinates given from The Arc (which had been dismantled and taken in at that point) and what they found at the end was a amazing.
True alien life, and some small species of worm, but sentient, flourishing arrays of different species from different planets and solar systems, all gathered in what was called a station.
A couple hundred thousand years later, and here we are. Humans have aided in the construction of a handful of new stations, and have adjusted to all the other extremities of interstellar politics. We have been integrated to the system, and everyone is all the better for it.
The "Petal" quadrant (a large collection of marked astral territory) houses two of the largest stations created in part by humans, in recent times, a trade line between them has been severed. This has stricken a bitter chord between them, and for the first time in human history, that could mean full on inter-planetary war. If this all wasn't bad enough, someone else is throwing more oil to the fire. A group of zealots have formed in Thorn, preaching about "The Rose Mother" and how she is coming to save everyone, IF of course they take her pact. Those who have, seem to disregard all set rules, and are causing trouble across the quadrant, forcing their beliefs on others, through possible more than just words.
Tl;dr: Humans found aliens, they built large safe havens to live together, two of these made by humans are nearing war, and to make it worse, religious zealots are running about and violently forcing their beliefs on others.
Where you come in, is wherever the hell you want. You could be a hired eye looking to stop some crazy "Rose eyed cultists", or a cultist yourself looking to kidnap a politicians daughter. Anything from "Pencil pushing office lady" to "Toughened ship commander" is alright. I want things to be big, interesting, and honestly, the tinniest bit confusing. Plot-lines about the developing war and cult fanatics will be established, but if you want a sub-story only partly involved, about your nephew being taken away by some weird alien vampire, please, I implore you to go ahead and start that.
Rules:
One: Standard guild rules, no sex, no fighting in OOC, be respectful.
Two: Keep a decent post length and quality please, I'm honestly a little soft on people, so if you see someone being super sub-par, let them know, respectfully.
Three: If I mess up, tell me. I don't have total confidence in my GM skills, and i'm human, mistakes happen.
Four: Don't pet the unicorns.
Five: Involve every player. I can see this being daunting or confusing, but I want people who are interested, to be involved.
Six: Basically don't be an ass.

Things!: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Technology: Okay, so. Kinda important for Sci-fi. When it comes to technology, would like a little making it up as you go. I don't want "can create holes in space to travel through" level stuff here, but be interesting, don't go too far and make things too out there, I don't want us to have ascended to a higher form due to our robots, I want us to have ranging varying and interesting forms of technology. One person could have an old clunker ship, running on crystals and magic runes, while one could have a pristine sleek speeder from the capital that reaches amazing speeds. Don't go too far, be interesting, check with me first if you aren't sure about your idea.
Places: I will create a list of places that I hope to update as we go. When I say places, I more mean planets and the like, but if we want, Rusty's old gas station could it's own place on their too. I hope not to be the only one adding to the list, and highly urge people to go as deep as they want when it comes to fleshing out our universe.
Races: When it comes to alien races, I will accept most all of them, as long as they don't become OP. An odd fantasy race that have halos of crystalline magic? Sure. Sentient androids created through a garbage planet and surviving AI? Awesome. Time stopping muscle men who could crush a star with their eyebrows. No. I very much so enjoy original creations over borrowed ones, so I am more likely to accept something you made, then something from mass effect or star-wars.
Powers: Okay so. Aliens obviously grow up in different circumstances than humans. This means they would have different features. Who is to say, that those features can't include chest lasers or magic? Sure as hell not me. What this means, is that if you create an alien race, you can totally give it weird abilities. Have a telekinetic squid man, i don't care. Be awesome, be reasonable. I will call you out if I don't think your power should, well, exist.
When or if I think of more (as I assume I missed things) I will add it here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Places list:++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Big places-----
Thorn: The largest of all (mostly) human constructed stations. It is known for it's generally low amount of different species. (only a few thousand) It is generally called the human station, as this is where most humans tend to stay. It houses a large collection of hunting vessel, and brings in a prime amount of space oil (A fluid burned for energy, taken from large beings humans simply call "space whales" ) It is also known for it's better false whether system, and it's old fashioned architecture. English is one of it's main languages.
Crimson: The third largest of all (mostly) human constructed stations. It has a high amount of military power. Known for it's large array of mech suits. Ranging from old fashion Rune-Runners, to new-type Oil-Rigged. It has in recent times lost some of it's oil intake, due to broken trade with Thorn. It houses an average amount of different species, and has a large array of different building types, walled off from each-other into small sanctuary's, for those who feel most comfortable in them. The government here has been known to be a little shady in recent times, and organized crime lurks in the background, profit is seeming to skew to those with "connections".
Little places:-----
Backwater's first oil cannery: An abandoned oil packaging company in Thorn. It had a massive accident, alighting much raw oil and burning the area black. Those who follow "The Rose Mother" have taken to hiding here, and seem to organize and coordinate on what their next plans of action are. It is armed. Rumors of a few lost officials are lingering about this area, and it is noted to be highly dangerous. It is in the back end of an unused work district.
More to come.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Races list:
Humans:
Won't make a sheet for them, because well, why should I.
Orions:------------------------------------------------
Name: Orions
Origin: Tu-ahr. (Quite a ways away from Petal.)
General looks: Orions are very alike to humans. They tend to have a larger height range (meaning less average that human, more shorter, and more taller) They have an orange-ish bronze skin, and almost all have green eyes. Their hair colours are shades of grey to white, and it only seems to grow on their head, and fore-arms. They grow horns of different natures from their heads, some curled like a rams, and some rising straight to the sky. It is rumored the length shows age. It is customary to always have white paint on their bodies, the patterns can hold different meanings, depending on family, where they are placed, and where on Tu-ahr they originated from.
Language: Tu-kalar: A relatively simply language in comparisoon to humans. Having similar vocal ranges, it is easy for most humans to learn, and has been noted by non speakers, to sound a little like Mandarin, with a mix of French, dabbles of German, and a whole lot of gibberish.
General powers: Orions seem to have a good link with magics. Using tribal words and motions instead of generally applied runes and tools. (wands and staffs)
History: Will perhaps write this later. I've clearly done a little writing today, and a brake sound nice.
Technology level: Orions without the discovery of other races, would likely be just reaching space travel now.
Life expectancy: 147 years old is the general life span.
Other: Generally a peaceful race. Like humans they have never gone to inter-stellar war. Even their own history is surprising clean. They have two-stomachs.
Orions:------------------------------------------------
Spots are reserved, for: Dud, Grimoire, cedric of trall and MaskedHeroZ.
