Brief History: Hazel is a rather naive girl, inexperienced with lift outside of court. She was born to the mighty Bowron family, a well respected house which holds the title of 'Warden of the North', and the mighty keep of Riverswatch. Her family has stood in watch of the North for many years, and have curried much favor with the king, allies of his house. She was born to Lord Alexander Bowron, the current head of the house and ruler of Riverswatch, and Lady Adrianna Bowron, the daughter of the King's uncle. From birth Hazel was taught the finer points of Ladyhood: Knitting, manners, gracefulness, poise, and of course how to rule, as any proper Lady is expected to hold her husband's station if he is called away. She also learned maths, sciences, and history, noted as being one of the most intelligent young ladies in the land.
Early in her life she was betrothed to the King's eldest son, an appointment which would bring her family honor, and perhaps Queen-hood. However the King's son went missing, and as of now has been gone for almost ten years, placing the Bowron family in an awkward place, unable to retract such a betrothal, but wishing to marry their daughter to another eligible young Lord. The years of Hazel's eligibility are slowly fading, along with any promise of becoming queen. Despite the woes of her maidenhood, Hazel is a favorite of the common people, known as a gracious and generous Lady who shows kindness even to the destitute. She is also recognized for her poise, grace, and intelligent. Despite the public perception of her Hazel is slightly spoiled, and would undoubtedly whither without the luxuries of Ladyship.
In recent times the brewing trouble of the North have brought rise to tension in Riverswatch, and her Lord Father has sent warnings to the southern keeps and towns. The stress has began to eat at Lord Bowron, and he fears the worst for the coming battle with the overwhelming numbers of barbarians. He has sent his family to the south, to stay in the Royal Castle, only adding to the worry among the Army of the North. As Hazel and her family begin the journey southward, the Northern armies have begun their advance to the South. Her family currently rests in the town of Aurora's End, anxious to continue their exodus to Sanctuary and receive word from Riverswatch.
