Well, it is said that Masado Osseiji cannot be used to directly go for the kill, only setup stuff such as an endorphin withdrawl, temporary numbness or paralysis.

And as for Gamo Tan, i simply forgot to add that part. It won't be an ability Ido can cast directly at a character, only within their vincity.

I read "excluding" as "including". That happens to me a lot, herp. It seems at least decent that way, but you'll have to see what LeeRoy says about it.

I agree with Important. If there's some sort of visual indicator, it'd be a bit more acceptable. It doesn't seem OP, persay, but the whole taking over the person's body is definitely a point of contention.

And regarding Important's comment: that may indeed need some changes, as Ido will have not only the option of charging, but also various other ways of weakening an opponent. Most characters do have a high level of combat awareness though, so they will be able to counter this spell uncharged and without any setups.

Without some visible indication that an attack is being charged, combined with the attack being an insta-hit, I don't see it being an ability conducive to fair play. The same goes for the Gamo Tan ability, which it seems can reach temperatures comparable to napalm in the space of a single second, and requires no forewarning or travel time between caster and target. That's an instant kill against any character without a resistance to heat, since they would have no way to see it coming or counter it once activated.

So, the first ability:
Alright, so normally I would call this as character control, however it's only so in the most strict of definitions. The ability is not overpowered, per say.

BUT!

Under these regulations it shall be acceptable:

  • It requires an indicator, a fog or an orb of light. As the others have mentioned previously.

  • It HAS to be a projectile, wherever this projectile hits is where the effect will happen. Say the torso, or the arm. Those parts are vulnerable to the effects. The projectile can get larger based on ticks, making it more viable.

  • The higher the tier of the character being struck by this power, the easier it is to resist. A character of equal tier could resist it once or twice without it being silly. A character of lower tier would have difficulty resisting. A character of higher tier would be able to shrug it off more than once.

If you find those acceptable, then yeah that initial ability is acceptable.

On the second power:
The way I can see this working is if it works like Flame Swathe from Dark Souls 2.
Video Reference
If you make it work like that, then it's acceptable. A short delay followed by a large explosion.

Napalm? Doesn't napalm burn at like 1000 C?
Not that i disagree with the point.

Im okay with visuals for Masado Oseiji, but projectile? Nope, i'd rather make it easier to defend against or harder to cast.

As for Gamo Tan, i can lower the temperature and increase the cooldown. The spell is sort of meant to be an insta-lighter for a flameable liquid he attacks with, not a pure offensive, and giving it a delay or projectile form completely defeats the purpose it was made for.

For Masado Oseiji, the point of making it a projectile is that your opponent can see it coming and react. Maybe instead it has some other up-front warning, like a certain feeling that occurs two seconds before the actual effect. Still questionable though, as most people wouldn't know what to do with it.

As for Gamo Tan, make it any lower and it won't be lighting anything. I think it might work the way it is, but it needs a visibility factor. Because hot air just looks like air, it's too easy to put it in front of someone and have them walk into it for easy damage. Alternatively, perhaps you could replace it with some kind of small electric spark? Sparks can light stuff on fire, are more visible than hot air and sometimes less harmful in direct contact.

The sparks are a good idea, i'll probably use that. And about Masado, it's not the projectile part i don't like - it's the fact that Leeroy is saying it should only affect the body part it hits. It restricts the freedom i have once Masado strikes, forcing me to adapt to the situation, not to mold it to my needs. So yeah, i meant that i didn't want it be a shot that affects only what it hits, wether uncharged or not.

EDIT: or i can actualy make it so that he can generate heat only within the liquid he controls, simple as that. I was just thinking about how cool it would be to have pyromance as an additional skill and completely forgot that i could solve this problem like this if the need arises. >.<

Depends on the variation of napalm, but the point I was making is that raising the temperature in an area to 1,050 degrees Celsius in a single second is more or less an unavoidable insta-kill for a character without heat resistance (which I assume he could do by activating the power three times in the same area, raising the temperature by 350 degrees each time).

It's a moot point now though if you plan on altering the ability to only affect his special liquid.

Apparently, he can do pretty much anything to their body for a fraction of a second.

Vordak, you mention that having it affect only the portion of the body that it strikes would force you to adapt to the situation, but what's wrong with that? If you have it the other way around, where it isn't a projectile and it affects the body as a whole, you could just keep spamming it at your target until its PGing for them NOT to succumb (preventing them from counter-attacking in the meanwhile due to having to fight this off every half second or so), then paralyze them and walk up to rip their throat out. It's just as much of a guaranteed kill as your pyromancy ability was, if not more. The amount of things it can do, combined with the very distinct lack of drawbacks or time constraints, makes it OP even for a tier 7, in my opinion.

LeeRoy's constraints prevent the ability from being outrageously overpowered, though personally I would also argue that it should have a recharge time after each use, to prevent the spamming scenario mentioned above (perhaps a cooldown equal to the charging time would be appropriate, given the hugely powerful potential of the ability).

bah, im too lazy and i really don't want Masado to be a projectile, so i'll just replace it with a completely diffrent ability. Sorry for the hussle. :/

I mean, it's kind of inconceivably unfair to think about that.

It would be an automatic, unavoidable, instant, character controlling move, that leaves a character wide open for an entire turn, without any chance of resisting without being called a power gamer.

That's my personal opinion on it how it is now.
