Theres a difference between using a telepathic method to insta-translate languages(which Key approved) then instally accessing a foreign system and then breaking all of the associated security methods and encryption.

Also, you think after the first ship was destroyed they notice the tentacles and bombard the place, but it was implicated that the entire fleet was destroyed, and I was not given a chance to respond.

My main issue is not that it wasnt mentioned before, it is that those tentacles are capable of destroying a ship thousands of times larger then it that is armored and shielded.

Under order of Keyguy, Grand Emperor of Stardust, Grand Baron of the Grand Dutchy of Untold Empires, and Grand Imperator of Space Race, I order you Sukui to change your post.

You have to make it so not all of my ships are murderized(you said hundreds, there is only a 101 ships there right now) and gib a chance to attack you back before you murderize more things

I don't know why you even let the tentacles get that close in the first place. Just FTL several hundred-thousand kilometers from said tentacle creature and open fire with beam-based weaponry and/or FTL-capable guided munitions. Repeat as needed until said creature is dead.

At least that's what I would have done.

Also, that is a terrible picture. And posting it was unnecessary considering you could have just asked Suk to change their IC post by way of a PM or a simple OOC post.

Sukui destroyed my ships without ever giving me a chance to respond.

Oh and I did that because I knew Wilson would get mad at me if I demanded someone change a IC post.

I was under the impression auto-hits were acceptable in this roleplay.

And, I'm going to say this again, but had you and Suk exchanged PMs planning this story ark out, this wouldn't have happened.

I'm going to have to agree with duck on this one. I mean, there was no chance if a response against that kind of attack, though it is early on in the RP., most nations can handle that kind of loss. The visages, from my understanding. Are incredibly powerful, God like entities. And those particular two chose to have smaller forms, aren't they normally quite large?

Speaking of my own actions, my faction is supposed to be normally OP in a sense, using very advanced technology that out performs nearly everyone else's. Their main weakness is magic, which they have no defence against at the moment. Had duck not been using magical weapons and shields, I would have most likely decimated New Condia with little to no losses. The Ethereals have other weaknesses as well, hence why just need to be discovered through IC. Hence the creation of the Warden to help other, non magical factions.

Also, they don't have any allies. Another reason why everyone's out to get me (I don't mind, it's fun, an it gives me an excuse to be a little stronger than everyone else. I don't know why I mentioned my NS, just thought it might give people perspective on the issue. Sorry if it turns out long winded XD

Personally, I would have liked it much better if you had just asked Sukui to change it with a regular post or PM, not be all dramatic about it. Just makes me dislike it more, not less.

And if you are GM, and you dislike me, why are you worried about me and my opinion?

Not to fight, KeyGuy, just saying.

Well back then in SE and VotS, everyone was doing that stuff

Like, retaliating by killing my ships without chances to respond

Eh, apologies anyway, it seemed i was late to the adjustment.

Anyway, make it as if some of the ships survived, i'm at a vacation with a network too slow to make edits.

...I have absolutely no idea how competitive or War-based this RP is supposed to be. That being said, I guess I'll give it a shot. I hope you guys are still accepting.

Name of nation: United Celestial Empire

Description of government: The Alarai are divided into Admirals, each of whom maintains control over a single solar system. The Admirals are responsible for the military upkeep as well as administrative rule over each of their own systems, but they are ultimately at the mercy of the benevolence of the Emperor/Empress of the Alarai, who rules from the Alarai capital of Atlantis City, a giant underwater sprawl located in the deepest ocean of their capital, Atlantis.

Each Admiral is also the literal Admiral of his or her own Flag Fleet. Each Flag Fleet is a part of that system, although by imperial authority these flag fleets may merge to battle in Empire-wide battles if need be.

Description of military:

Alarai Military is divided into several “fleets”, with each fleet being responsible for the defence of both the planet surface and space of each system that is a part of the United Celestial Empire. The Alarai are masters of energy based weapons, especially considering that their entire ecosystem of water makes kinetic based weapons more or less useless.

In space, the Alarai space naval doctrine consists of a carrier centric battle doctrine, never bothering to deal with big lumbersome capital ships. As such, Alarai space fighters have extremely high operational times before requiring a return to her home ship.

Technological Overview:

Explorer Vehicles: Seeing as they lack feet on top of being incapable of breathing oxygen, the Alarai have developed a wide variety of vehicles and mechanical walkers in order to explore the dry surfaces of a planet.

The Lunar Gateway Warp System: One of the Alarai's proudest accomplishments, the Lunar Gateway system is a union of both Alarai religion and technology. In lieu of FTL travel (which the Alarai have admittedly never mastered), the Alarai are instead capable of transporting soldiers, supplies and in some cases entire fleets through warp gates. These Warp Gates serve as gargantuan temple complexes on the lunar surface of the capital of each system – it is mandatory that it is built on a moon, as moons hold great religious significance for the Alarai.

The Opening of a Lunar Gateway on a system is ceremonially seen as a Solar System's official entrance into the United Celestial Empire and is usually met with public celebrations throughout the empire.

While nowhere near as versatile and useful as true FTL, the Lunar Gateway Systems are best said to open “Wormholes”. As such, While destination choices are highly limited the Lunar Gateways are also instantaneous, allowing for reinforcements from Atlantis to come to the aid of a besieged planet extremely quickly.

“Life Support”: The most bizarre aspect of Alarai space technology. While most civilizations would be concerned with making sure their ships have enough air and would have their life support systems maintain air supply and oxygen purification, to the Alarai it was water that is absolutely critical. Not only are the decks and halls of an Alarai spacecraft flooded with water at all times, the life support system also ensures that the water remains at a comfortable temperature and is cleaned and filtered regularly.

Deep Sea Resource Gathering: The Alarai have, still do and will always live in the seas. As such, they are capable of extracting resources from the most extreme of ocean conditions. One such example is the extremely efficient deep sea oil drilling and mining technology the Alarai hold.

Submersible Starships: Each and every Alarai starship is not only capable of atmospheric entry/exit but also aquatic submerging.

Cultural Overview: The Alarai are an isolated people, having very little to no outside contact due to the nature of their Lunar Gateways. Living underwater, the Alarai viewed the sky as “the great ocean above” and revered the moon, for the moon is the mover and shaker of the oceans. Even the Imperial Authority submits to the moon, and for an Alari it is a rite of passage for a young one to swim as high as possible to the surface and break free from the ocean to see the moon through clear skies.

To the Alarai, beyond any form of appearance the voice is highly valued. Alarai festivities always include singing, and Alarai music has no instruments, relying and being composed with only the harmonious singing voices of the Alarai peoples. Alarai determine beauty and grace by one's voice and the amount of emotion one is able to inbue within it. While they are not unaware of warfare, it has been long since the Alarai have last seen conflict.

History: Atlantis had existed in one form or another since time immemorial. Originally beginning as a single city, the Alarai explored new oceans and developed new technologies peacefully, always hoping to find a way to break through the ocean and explore the “ocean above”.

Finally mastering space flight, the Alarai began to expand excitedly from their home planet of Atlantis, it was here that tragedy finally struck. Fuelled by greed, a group of Alarai on a neighbouring system declared themselves independent and invaded Atlantis through the Lunar Gates, forcing a desperate battle on the space above Atlantis. It was through this rebellion that the Alarai learned the concept of space warfare.

To prevent future tragedies, the Alarai Empress decreed sweeping reforms, limiting the powers and dividing the power of the military into several independent groups, ensuring that no single warlord could gain enough power to challenge the throne again.

I like it, though warfare would certainly be harder for your people than others. All that water and extra equipment would be costly on ship equipment, I would suspect prove to be a little tricky with electrical systems? No gravity would also, I think, mess up a ship. And the requirements for atmospheric and for underwater use would, I think, require a good deal more activity-specific equipment, which means that warships would have to be quite large just to do everything you had in your application.

Gravity isn't going to do much for an aquatic species anyway; they'd be accustomed to the buoyancy effect offered by oceanic environments. The entirety of the ship doesn't need to be flooded either, only sections that the crew (if the ship even has one) will be occupying. Electrical systems can be easily water-proofed if needed, which is an obstacle I'd expect a water-bound species to have defeated long before they even made it into space. Ship size doesn't exactly have to be massive, though duel-purposing a spacecraft for deep sea activity may be problematic if only because of how submarines works (if a critical hull breach occurs, the submarine is more or less destined for destruction).

Sufficient amounts of handwavium would be acceptable; warfare for the space merfolk wouldn't be especially difficult, mostly because there's no real reason why it should be.
