Junko stands at a bite-size 3' 11". She normally wears a blue bow in her hair and is seen to run around in tiny frilly dresses that mothers usually like to stick their kids in.

Junko was born two months after the first Nephalim attack to a newlywed couple. To them, she had been the first positive milestone in a long time, a shooting star in the empty sky.

While the newlywed couple had been displaced by the war, her father easily found a managerial position in a major construction firm during the reconstruction of Tokyo and took the chance then to move to the capital. Her mother was by no means a housewife, but she adored her daughter too much to start working immediately. It would be another two years before Junko’s mother finally accepted a position as a part of a research team at SEED, but even then she took her daughter to work every day, leaving her in the daycare center where she could occasionally drop in to see her. It was fair to say she spent most of her life at SEED’s daycare center, digging holes with sticks hoping her mother and father might fall into one and stay just a little longer when they came for their brief visits. She never begged or cried for the attention she wanted from her parents’ though, for it seemed that she loved her parents too much to see them torn between finding time for work, each other, and her.

So life moved on in the walls of SEED.

As she grew older she began to dream more of the outside world, the one that she and her mother would briefly explore during her off days and in between rides to drop her off to spend time with her father at his office. She dreamed of merry-go-rounds and cotton candy, a small house with two windows and a chimney like in the books, and endless fields of golden wheat. She dropped subtle hints to her parents. The color pencil pictures of hers that they hung outside the daycare were always the same few: a family of three sitting under a tree outside their small two windowed house with smoke coming out of the chimney. There always had to be smoke coming out of the chimney, she thought, because otherwise how would they know if anyone lived there?

But those signs went unnoticed, and time passed.

When she entered the second grade, her mother and father finally took some time off work and took her to an amusement park. She would never forget what it was like riding on the merry-go-round for the first time. Somehow the three of them had managed to squeeze onto the small rocking horse and she squealed with delight as her mother wrapped her arms around her and her father from behind. They even had their picture taken! Even to this day, she would keep that picture with her wherever she went.

That day was the last day she spent with her paren-

It was on the ride home, as she pretended to sleep on her father’s lap, that she promised herself she’d live more days like these. That she’d one day ride it with her own child and husbandu as a caring and loving waifu.

At the cost of flight, Junko has an extremely strong energy shield.

Junko also has the ability to generate a large, three-dimensional power grid over the battlefield. Inside this power grid, she can detect all energy sources as well as their acceleration in any direction.

When her MagiGear, Dwarf Star, is in Siege Sphere mode, she has the ability to almost instantly generate and then detonate highly condensed spheres of energy anywhere inside the grid. She can keep multiple spheres undetonated inside the grid but they eventually deactivate and disperse.

-The more spheres of energy left undetonated inside the grid, the faster they deactivate and disperse.
-She can either generate a single energy sphere every couple of seconds or a many of them for a cool down.

When Dwarf Star is in Star Gate mode, she can accelerate and decelerate objects that pass through the numerous gates which Dwarf Star forms. Energy can’t pass through these gates, only objects can. The number of spheres passed through influences the speed.

Junko’s MagiGear is the Dwarf Star which is composed of numerous curved shell-like pieces.

They transform into the different modes at will.

Dwarf Star: Siege Sphere:
In this mode, Junko plants herself into the ground and spreads the curved pieces around her to form an imperfect Dyson sphere (meaning there are cracks). It’s only from within this Dyson sphere that Junko has the ability to generate and detonate spheres.

Dwarf Star: Star Gate:
In this mode, the curved pieces are ringed together to form seven large circles which act as acceleration/deceleration gates. She can also combine these smaller circles to form one large circle. She switches the function of the gate on will. Gates can be spaced as far apart as pleased. The only sort of defense she has in this state is her shield.

It goes without saying that Hiroko is definitely the brainier one between she and Kaede. Vastly more analytical out of the two, expect her to be the one that takes on more tedious and detail-oriented jobs, like paperwork, analyzing data, and making sure Kaede doesn't stick her nose where it doesn't belong. She can often seem tense or stressed out, and it's often because she actually is. Perhaps because she stresses easily, Hiroko does her best to make sure everyone else does what their supposed to be doing at top efficiency, even if that's not quite in her job description.

Kaede
Ever-curious and always eager to learn something, Kaede is a girl who sees everything as another learning experience. Her naivety and politeness never seem to reach an end, and unfortunately, her desire to tinker with things she probably shouldn't tinker with is just as bottomless. She'll probably get words in her sentences jumbled up to varying degrees; sometimes it'll just be a small slip of the tongue, and other times it'll take an expert on the girl just to decipher what she's saying. She's also prone to forgetting names, and so labels most people with simple nicknames.

Brief Backstory: Kaede and Hiroko go way back; as far back as the day the former was born in Yakushima and Mrs. Kobayashi appointed Hiroko as her godmother. A longtime best friend of Kaede's mother, Hiroko moved in with the Kobayashis after Kaede's father up and vanished without so much as a goodbye. Together, the duo raised Kaede through the vast majority of her life. Things were good, though no good thing can last forever. Ten years ago, the first Nephilim attacked.

Hiroko and Kaede survived relatively uninjured. Kaede's mother wasn't so lucky, having perished shielding Kaede from the vehicle of somebody running away. Even with the human shield, Kaede took a good knock to her noggin, and her memories up to that point had been wiped clean. Hiroko took to raising Kaede on her own since as the girl's godmother, helping fill her in on the memories she'd lost. And then a year later, SEED became a thing. Hiroko joined up, but...

Tokyo and Yakushima were pretty far apart. And somebody had to keep an eye on Kaede. Naturally, the two moved together to Tokyo, and until just recently, Hiroko juggled her work and her godmotherly duties. However, once Kaede turned 18, she volunteered to also join SEED. Partly to help Hiroko at her work, and partly to join the fight against the Nephilims in her own way.

Abilities: The two are pretty smart in their own respective ways. Hiroko already knows quite a bit, but Kaede learns at breakneck speeds. They also get work done pretty quickly when they're working together. Short of that though, nothing really special about them.

Personality:
Masaki is extremely pessimistic, asocial, and awkward. He nearly always looks annoyed with something, and is quick to tell people to piss off, causing him to be something of a common enemy to the workers of SEED. He absolutely loathes interacting with other people, though when it's for work related purposes, he finds it much easier to stomach. When it comes to small talk and the like, however, he'd much rather carve his own eyes out with a butter knife. Even just being around others makes him uncomfortable, and this seems even worse around women. And in this strange line of work, that is a god-awful trait to have.

Underneath all of this though, he does have a heart. He knows the fault is with him and his mindset, and not the world. He sees that most people enjoy life, and while he'll never understand how, he does his best to not ruin that for anyone. One way he does this is to put on a facade - by always looking annoyed and angry, he hopes to keep people away from him, to save them from the pain of talking with his awkward self.

He is extremely self-sacrificial, and will never think twice of aiding someone else (subtly and from the background, of course) at his own expense, using the logic that he loses nothing (as he already hates the world and himself) while the other person has something to gain. He will always give up his own happiness for someone else's.

When it comes to his job, he's a bit of a workaholic, mainly because being busy all the time gives him an excuse to ignore other people. He works incredibly well under pressure, staying calm and focused no matter the circumstances.

Brief Backstory:
Masaki has always been asocial and awkward. There was no one, identifiable event that made him that way.

The Nephilim attack, though, did change the way he thinks. though. While the attack unnerved him, he could visibly see that he was no where near as shaken as the rest of the world was. He saw how much people suffered from the loss of their homes and loved ones.

His town had been completely destroyed, his father had been crippled for life, both his parents had lost family members - and he didn't really care. While everyone else in the world was busy crying and dealing with the shock, he had already accepted it.

That was when he realized he was different - twisted and strange. Most people actually enjoyed life, actually enjoyed spending time with others and following the rules of society. Upon seeing so many people in pain, for the first time in his life, he was able to empathize - just slightly - with others.

And so his mindset changed. Instead of avoiding people for his sake, he avoided them for their sake. He began to go out of his way to help others no matter how much it adversely affected him. He got people to focus their hate on him so they would be nicer to each other. When things went wrong, he always found a way to take the fall.

After all, being the negative person he is, he'd be selfish to not help others be happy, regardless of the consequences for himself.

He joined SEED at 18 years old, hoping to help minimize any damage and pain that Nephilims could cause.

Abilities:
Masaki is an absolute genius when it comes to piloting and building vehicles, and this talent is the only reason his superiors put up with his terrible attitude. The more pressure a situation presses upon him, the better he gets - when things start going south, he can stay with-it enough to improvise well.

He knows his way around firearms and is decent with hand-to-hand combat.

He doesn't quite have the knowledge and intelligence to design the advanced weaponry that SEED uses, but he's smart enough and good enough with his hands to build and maintain them using the design plans.

Occupation: Mecha and ship pilot on the field, engineer and mechanic at base.
