In their defense the bartender was made into a character in mid game so it's hard to remember that he died. There also was no notice that the NPC bartender turned into a character with a backstory. Personally I think there should be two since one of us made him kind of a dick...*cough* *cough* *looks around* I'm still voting for Ghostbustsers.

He was only a dick to Lucio because bards sometimes try to get a free room out of a performance. Which Lucio very rarely ever does.

No, he was a dick to Wildflower as well and her wolf. It's no big deal but Wildflower is right, we need better warning if an existing NPC is going to changed into a character owned by somebody else. It was jarring that I had to feel sympathy for the douchebag bartender out of nowhere. lol No big though, long way to go in this adventure. :)

I feel that sympathy isn't really required. The bartender, by numerous accounts, was a dick. That doesn't mean he wasn't cared about by someone, somewhere. The bartender could possibly have been a nice guy once you got to know him but based on first impressions, he just doesn't want shit happening in his tavern due to a good business sense. No free room for the bard. No animals inside the tavern. Makes sense. NPCs can give off multiple impressions to different people, because that's just like real people meeting.

It really boils down to how your character would feel. Aldred is a good example of the 'good guy' who despite briefly knowing the bartender to be a dick, is willing to look past that for the sake of Emilia. That makes sense because that's how I feel Heat wants his character to be. But your character can do whatever they want. You can talk ill of him if you want and feel like that's what your character would do.

Oh it's not Lander that feels that way, it's me, because the un-named bartender was a dick, didn't have a sister and cheated on his wife and has multiple children he doesn't take care of. That's who he is. How do I know that? Because he wasn't a character till he was made one and we all wrote him any way we way we wanted. The smart thing to do would have been to make a new character to introduce or let us know that someone was changing a pre-existing character.

Good guys are boring as hell, as they are not like regular people. Everyone has their faults. Even you.

Woah, woah, all of you settle down.

I made the bartender a generic NPC to add life to the inn. I probably should've stopped him from becoming more than that. Think I'm just gonna have full control over NPCs, if things like this lead to arguments.

All I was saying is to give a heads up if an NPC is going to have their story and character completely changed without notice. There's no need for any argument. We understand the bartender is dead and some people didn't realize because the character that died didn't seem like the character up to this point so the oversight is completely reasonable. Having a neutral NPC that we can use to have more in-depth conversations is a good thing to have. I've been in multiple RP's that had a 'community-use' NPC and anyone could control them.

Woah is right. This came out from no where! I was only trying to help everybody with this one particular issue. Someone made a mistake but in words, everyone has their faults. So get over it.

But why make this suddenly personal?
