And what better way to test a Table top RPG than by running a campaign right here, am I right?
Yup, I decided to make a Digimon Tabletop RPG Rulebook utilizing primarily d6's (standard cube shaped six sided die for those who aren't down with the jargons). Since I have to make pretty much all of it myself, It's not quite done or ready to play, but enough is there that I think by the time I start the OOC, I should have enough to create characters and know what they can do. I probably won't have a full list of items out by the time we'd be starting, but I do have a way where no one would be left in the dust for calculating their armor or weapon values.
Other than it working on what is basically a point-buy system, I don't have much else to say that showing you the document wouldn't do better, which will come in due time. I do have an idea for plot elements, however, I prefer Digimon RP's to have more player input than one might expect from some other, more strict story lines, and this is no different. Besides, I don't want to limit player choices, so I'm not one to try and plot-railroad my party in uncomfortable ways, but I do appreciate a bit of cooperation.
That being said, I'm relatively new to Tabletop GM'ing, and this is very experimental, but that's basically what I'm looking for- people willing to experiment, have fun, and ride with the story until the end.

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to ask! I don't think it will be that complex, but all the basics of the core rulebook should be there by the time we start, or rather, I'll have to finish them before we start so no players are left in the dark. And, while I don't have any ideas for like, expansion books or modules/pre-made adventures, there is room for them in the future. The group that forms will be essentially alpha testers, and help me work out problems so the game can be more fun for future players.

While I don't have much experience with tabletop RPGs , I tend to generally enjoy Digimon RPGs. I do have some questions though neither are deal breakers/makers. Are fan made Digimon allowed or canon only? And what about Digivolution lines, is it possible to make up a line as long the the choices make sense (for example Leafmon - Tanemon - Mushroomon - RedVegiemon - Blossomon - Rosemon) ? And in case the answer to both is yes could you have line of fan made and canon Digimon?

Well that's good, I'm in a similar boat. Okay, both essentially have the same root answer. Due to the way the corebook is written, or rather, the way I had to write it to ever have a chance of being done, there is no index of Digimon, but wikimon.net is considered the resource well for rather important things. That being the case, you can have fan made Digimon, as long as they make sense and have a way to properly link them to Digimon Families(also called fields). The second one is a bit more tricky to give a yes or no. You see, you don't technically pick an entire Digivolution line. Instead, you pick a Baby form and a Family. Digimon in one Family can Digivolve into any Digimon from the same family with whom they share a reasonable enough connection as long as, say, the Digimon's not mistreated or something. You basically get to raise the Digimon yourself, while being able to hedge your options and play it out as best you can. Digimon Digivolve when they level up.

Awesome!

I already know someone else is up to play, so now we need at least two more people. I'd like to start with five.
If anyone else has any questions, feel free to ask.

You have this planned out perfect! Thats all I can say. That makes sense, particularly interested to hear how you handle viruses.

I think he means Virus Digimon, that said I agree that your idea makes sense

I figured as much. Still, I don't know what he means with how I'm going to "handle" them. Thank you. Once the core rulebook is complete, it will be converted into a PDF and I'll put a download link.

I'm interested in this. But one question, could we have two digimon partners?

I'm not entirely sure what the limitations are that would be caused by that, but it's not impossible I suppose. As long as not everyone tries to do it and you're willing to put in the work to make them distinct characters. So, what are you thinking, twin Digimon like Lopmon and Terriermon?

Kupo's question made me wonder something new, will DNA-Digivolution be possible?

I didn't really have a pair in particular but was considering several like Black Agumon and Black Gabumon or Flamon and Strabimon. Anyway I'll wait for the rules to be posted before picking.

Yes, that's one of the things I added most recently, or rather, I added its handler most recently.

Ah, classics. And, well, you don't get to pick that much. As mentioned before, you do get to pick the Baby stage and the Family, and after that you can say what Rookie or Champion you might want, but there's no guarantee you'll get it, because the actions and behaviors in the Roleplay will influence that.

I've never done a tabletop-styled RP before, but if you're willing to be patient with my naivete, I'd be happy to join in. Always up for a Digimon RP, myself.

Alright, I will. It shouldn't be too bad, as you'll be learning the system just like everything else. There is a bit of stylistic difference, but mainly it's an interpreted permission to succeed or fail based on how the GM (myself) interprets your die rolls. I'm thinking of using Roll20 just to have a table to put rolls on, since it remembers the chat and has a decent die-roller. That way no one can misinterpret events.
Anyway, great, now we should have five people, provided that no one vanishes. I'm almost done- all I need is to make the rest of what equate to Class Feats, and then the character sheets. I have enough of a story in mind that I feel confident in starting, but also that the players will have a bit of freedom. If you guys would rather know my story idea, I can tell you, but I'd rather no-one try to meta/optimize for the story, nor use knowledge their characters wouldn't or shouldn't know for advantages.

Excuse me? I don't quite understand. Also, what was your question about Viruses?
Anyway, I've got a bunch of what I want to fill in, called Features, done, but I still need to work on more of them. However, I am working on story parts now.

1. I was just stating it is cool that the actual roleplaying will influence the rookie and champion levels of our digimon. Capital idea!
2. I was mistaken when I said virus I incorrectly refer to the X-antibody as a virus, suffice it to say my question is do you plan on using the X-anti body for evolution purposes or keep evolution branches strictly determined by Roleplaying? I apologize if I am adding further strain to your creation of the rulebook.

Actually, every form that's not the Baby form is determined by the Roleplay. All of them.

Ah, I see. It's understandable, X-Virus, X-Antibody... Anyway, I pretty much had that there already. It's one of the earliest things I put in the Rulebook. I didn't have anything complex laid out, but it's there. Why do you ask?
