I didn't know. I'm from Taco Town, USA. We don't like green foods here. I had never even met a vegan before going up there to Hippyville.

I got that :D And I mean, you apologized, so no problem there. I was just arguing that I totally get where your vegan housemates were coming from. My vegan friends would be pissed too if I cooked meat in their kitchen.

I don't really get vegan-bashing anyway, though, so I'm obviously biased. Veganism and vegetarianism is some pretty non-oppressive stuff. I'd rather point fingers at racists *shrug*

Only people with politically incorrect beliefs should be ostracized.

Well... yeah. If by "politically incorrect" you mean "bigoted and actually harmful".

I think we have fundamentally different values, and any attempt by either side to convince the other is going to fail. To me, religious restrictions are in greater need of reverence than dietary ones.

Religious restrictions deserve no reverence at all and it is up to the religious person in question to prepare their own food if they're going to apply arbitrary, non-health related restrictions. Dietary restrictions born out of a personal conviction (like veganism) also deserve no reverence or consideration from others. Only when your health is actually at stake (like being allergic to gluten or lactose intolerant) should others be considerate.

Although, I think buffalo would be a better choice than cows, as they grow quickly and big like a cow with hormone injections and steroids, but I want milk for the household for many, many things.

I'll never understand these vegans and fruititarians or w/e they call themselves who thing this is a natural diet. It is not natural. Humans are omnivores, we're predators. Look we have binocular vision and teeth designed for consumption of both meat and plants. Do you think we made fire to roast an ear of corn?

But idle! We're intelligent, empathetic people! We can't hurt our wiwwle forest friends! Meat is not only murder, but we say it's super bad for you to justify our life choices while condemning yours!

In other news, I have slow cooker BBQ pork ribs waiting for me when I get home. That'll do, pig. That'll do.

The trouble is that no one really knows what percentage of plant to meat rations paleolithic people ate. On top of that they ate wild plants and game, not the domestic versions which have different fat and nutritional content. It's based on assumptions.
