Star Wars

The Dawn of Destruction

Hey guys, I had this idea for people being able to create factions for Rebels or the Empire. You start out with a certain sum of credits and you can pick and choose what you want to do. The main goal of the game is to control all planets or take out the opposing team. Now if you are a Rebel and someone else is also a Rebel, this doesn't mean you're forced to be best friends. You have to work out alliances and trades and such. You guys don't share a pot of money and what you own doesn't count towards another player.

Here's just one example of what would happen
You choose Rebels. They start with less Credits but ships are incredibly cheaper for them. For Rebels only three ships come about for sale around a planet every month ingame time(Imperials get to choose from four). Rebels may also barter, trade a ship in to lower the price of another ship, or request a cheaper price (Empire may only scuttle ships and gain a little bit of Credits). You purchase a Cruiser that's good against fighters. Empire players automatically get a pretrained crew, but unless bribed (immediately ready) or personally trained (takes a month ingame) they may disobey your orders. Rebels must train a crew for a month of ingame time before a ship is usable. Use that ship to move to a planet of choice (you can move to two planets at a time within a month of ingame time). You choose to move to a neutral planet, Tattooine. For Rebels, it takes 2 months ingame to get the planet to join you. Once joined you gain access to another "shop" of ships (every planet gives you three ships available for purchase every ingame month. Unless Imperial, then four). (to be noted; a planet must be captured to view a shop if a player is a Rebel or Imperial) With the planet you will get a random amount of Credits as donations from the planets inhabitants to fuel your efforts per month. Empire players only need 1 ingame month to force a planet to join them and every month they get a specific amoint of taxes. The taxes is usually much higher than any donations but a Rebel player may be given options on a planet to increase the inhabitants liking of the player. The requirements to do such a thing are always intense, but the payout could become twice as much or more than a tax rate.

That's the basics, when it comes down to fighting, the more ships and the bigger they are, the longer a fight will take. Some ships are anti fighter, some ships come with anti ship bombers, some excel versus specific ship types; all allowing bonuses and increased chances of victory.

With trying to capture a planet held by an enemy player, the planet becomes contested. For Rebels, it takes 1 month to kill off all Empire soldiers and to root them out. Rebel players get this bonus on non-Empire based worlds as the inhabitants will support. Then it takes only one month to capture the planet. For Empire players, it takes two months to contest a planet on non-Empire based worlds to get rid of Rebels, then only 1 month to capture.

While the game is going on there also may be events that will occur. An agent of the Sith or a Jedi may come to assist you and could do a number of things from hiding out on a planet to require an extra month to contest, gain a planet to your side immediately, to even taking out a capital ship in the next fight. There will be many random events that may impede you or give you an advantage.

When you choose to join the game, you'll be asked your ship preferences, which may or may not determine the type of ship you are given. By ship preferences, what is meant is... If it's anti ship, anti fighter, capital ship, carrier, bomber, etc. This ship is your personal ship and flagship. If it is destroyed, you lose the game. However, a Flagship will always retreat to fight another day. But if it retreats it becomes damaged, and immediately returns to your first planet. It takes two months for it to be repaired. If your ship is engaged while damaged, it will become destroyed unless a fleet strong enough is present in the battle to protect it. It may be a good idea to have allies for situations like this.

I have not determined just yet how long an ingame month may take, I am thinking at least three or four days. I will need at least two Mods that have exceptional knowledge of Star Wars and able to determine if an application sheet needs work or not. The IC tab will be used for roleplaying however you wish, but when you decide what you want to do for each month, you PM your orders in to me, and you will get a response.

To start this roleplay, we need 2 Rebels and 2 Imperials. The max will be 3 each and when the roleplay starts up I will allow Bounty Hunters and Rogues to join. Their abilities will range from taking out ships, disabling ships, capturing ships, assisting in planet contesting, getting better ship deals etc. Each month a Rogue or Bounty Hunter can PM me and request an ability, which they can then roleplay in the IC or via PM with a player in private to offer to do a job. The cost for the job depends on what the Rogue or Bounty hunter wants. The Rogue/Bounty Hunter will also be given a ship based on their preferences, but expect it to be of freighter size and no larger. Each month they can also browse a ships "shop" (separate from Imperial or Rebel shops) to buy a new ship if they want. Their old ship will be already traded in to lower the price of the one they want when they make the purchase. Different ships allow more and new abilities. Rogues and Bounty Hunters can only gain Credits through random events and jobs.

Anyway, that should be everything. Questions or concerns? Hit me up and let's hash them out.

Without further adieu...

Well this is an interesting thing shouldn't we be able to choose our own ships or would that be to hard to compare against others?

If you chose your own ships specifically you could choose a ship that immediately over powers another players ship.

When you make your preferences it could be anything. My tactic is I choose a few ships within your preferences and roll a die to see what you gain.
