§ A Slice of Life! §

(So I gave this RP a shot way back when the site wasn't deranged looking, but it died a little of the ways in because I forgot to log back in and the site died. Awk. Why not see if anyone is interested in giving it a shot, aye?)

Cliques, groups, ranks: They're all the same. At Sunrise Academy, they are all used for the same purpose. Jocks will hang with jocks, musicians will associate with musicians, the brainy kids won't look at others. There is no 'mixing' here. Know where you belong, and everything will be just fine.

When a new girl starts to attend Sunrise Academy, she senses the tension between all of the students. Though it would be easier to blend into any group, because of her past school experience, she decides to break the mould.

The new girl's father happened to buy a hole in the wall walking distance from the school. It's the reason they moved there in the first place! Due to a life long dream, he decides to turn it into a pizza shop and call it A Slice of Life (hue). Out main girl knows he'll need employees to help clean it out, transform it, and start working it. What better way to get everyone to befriend each other than a group effort? Plus, a part time job in this dead town can help bring in some money to these high schoolers.

Basically, this RP will start with everyone divided into their 'clique' or stereotype. After the new girl starts up the project, one person from each clique/group/posse will decide to help remodel the broken down place, not knowing that they'll have to actually work WITH each other. Of course. Things are hostile at first, and this girl is caught in it all.

I AM OPEN TO ADJUSTMENTS AND OTHER IDEAS. If you have something to say, say it. If you want to be in it, why not have it be something you WANT to be in.

Also, if you want to be the girl or guy who is the new kid on the block, go for it. I just say her/she because it was a girl last time :4

Eleanor Hall

17

Year 4

Prep

Eleanor was born to two stereotypically rich posh parents. She was showered in fortune and rewards, so much so that it just became a usual routine. She'd expect at least her parents to dish out money for her on anything really throughout her childhood and it even continued into her teenage years. This was one of the main reasons she's associated to the "Prep" clique. Her money was her leverage to the top of the social hierarchy, and funnily enough this happened at around the age of 12. She powered her way through school using friends and social networking as her hobby. She was known as one of the main party-goers of school as she proceeded to mature and even became one of the main hosts of them. It wasn't hard for her to feel "popular" or "liked", because if people didn't genuinely like her they normally acted like they did because of the amount of money she has. Her parents were quite puppet-like throughout this process, Eleanor manipulating them to turn a blind eye to her parties and her sneaking out past "curfew" nearly everyday. It's only until know that her parents have started to see Eleanor's sly plots and although there is a heavy amount of hypocrisy because of their disliking of it; they've decided that Eleanor needs a lesson taught to her.

No longer able to take money off of her parents, she's had to resort to "working for herself", or as people call it; "Independence".

Gwen Redding

17 years old

Year: 4

Associated With: Jocks

Biography: Gwen grew up with a father who wasn’t exactly responsible. He did push her to constantly do things, but only to make him look good. He wanted to be the dad of the straight A student. The girl who made the most serves in a row on the volleyball team. The tallest girl on the basketball team. Of course she couldn’t live up to everything and he made her well aware of it when she didn’t. When she turned 12 he began offering her up as a babysitter to people he knew for her to earn money, so he could take it and buy booze. He was mentally and emotionally abusive throughout her teen years, though no one would ever know. To everyone else, she was perfect, great at every sport, and he was a proud dad. Now that it’s her final year of high school, she said she was taking the year off to do what she wanted, and do something for her finally. Because of it, her dad kicked her out. She doesn’t plan on telling anybody this, finding it a massive failure on her part that keeps her up every night. She, in turn, got to 'slack off' and only participate in the sports and activities she wanted, but her free time is now filled with doing odd jobs til she finds a steady part time one to pay her new apartment bills. She still keeps up appearance of being perfect, and if anyone found out she had a job, she’d say it was for extra cash, not because she needed it.

Why you need the job: Father kicked her out and now she has to pay for a place to live and food, etc.

Name: Joselyn “Josie” Atkins

Age: 16

Year: 3

Associated With: Thespian

Biography: Josie grew up always wanting to famous. If not for her acting, then for her artistic talent. When she’s not in the spotlight, she’s usually designing the sets and painting the backgrounds for the schools plays and musicals. She grew up in a fairly normal household, but often found herself wanting more than what her average home life could give her. Although she loves theater and art, she’s a little less interested in drama than some of her fellow thespians. Josie could be described as an adventurous, intelligent, creative, and friendly girl who usually hangs out with the more relaxed kids in Theatre. Her closest companion is her little brother, a first year student who is having trouble fitting into a group.

Why you need the job: Josie’s dream is to go to a renowned art school, and so despite the fact that she already has one job, she needs another to save up for tuition fees.

Name: Casey Greene

Age: 17

Year: 4

Associated With: Gamers/Nerds

Biography: Casey Greene is the younger brother of Sheldon Greene, and son of Morgan Greene and Isaac Greene. This middle-class family is originally from Texas, but moved to town when Isaac got a tenure-track job at the town's university. When they moved, Casey was just entering secondary school, and so enrolled in Sunrise Academy. Being that he came to town just as most students were transitioning to a new school (going from primary to secondary schools) he had little trouble fitting in. His older brother, Sheldon, had far more difficulty, and so spent most of his extra time inside. Seeing his older brother so alone, Casey tried spending more time with him, playing video games, talking about comics, and listening to music. Despite having a few friends with common interests, Casey never grew very close to them, having spent so much time with his brother. Furthermore, his friends often became jealous of him when girls like him more than them. Casey was a bit cocky when it came to girls which really bothered his friends. But for a while, Casey didn't mind only having a few not-so-close friends because he had his brother. However, just after Casey's junior year ended, his brother decided to move back to Texas. One summer morning, Casey found Sheldon with all his things packed and ready to go. He hadn't told Casey he was planning to move at all. 'I miss his friends' he told his little brother. After breakfast, Sheldon was gone. About a month later, Casey's father died in a car accident. He was taking a trip to Middlesex, a town over, for a conference when his car was totaled. The driver who t-boned Isaac's car was texting.

Why you need the job: Casey needs to help his mother pay for the house they are living in now.

DragonBeast I hate to be a spoilsport but I couldn't help but notice that our characters are very incredibly alike.
(Considering Preps are party animals, and social butterflies; and our reasons for the job are quite similar).

Also, I see very little men at this pizzeria so far.

Fair enough - I guess they're reasoning behind the job can be a way of ending up relating; but like preps + "mean" girls are like perhaps both derivations of one clique but hate each other. Like, nerds are summarized into gamers etc.

If you want to make a guy, go ahead! What do you think? They are a little similar, but it depends on how they act in the RP I suppose?

I'm ok with the similar cliques, as preps are more snobby while mean girls are bitches. And idk, a guy pizza guy could work; it just feels like we're an all-woman tribe that exiles the men when they're young so far.
