Unfortunately I am in a similar situation to Dedonus in that as the semester is winding down finding posting time is more difficult. I do hope to have some responses up soon though and am sorry for the wait.

Raptor Post

I lost all my motivation for doing homework tonight, so I decided to get a post up. If I'm going to be unproductive, I might as well be productively unproductive.

See what results form being productively unproductive! I should have an Arachne post before I go to bed.

Character Personality: Adena, Alannis, Arlia, and Aerwyna are like a single person seen through four different filters. They are all ambitious, confident, justly proud, ruthless, and obsessed with power. But they are each different. Adena is quick witted and impulsive with an eye for flare and fashion, a burning temper, and an equally blazing well of passion. She quickly grows tired and bored as she is prone to burning herself out in a feverish period of intense activity. Alannis is slow to make decisions, a careful thinker with a firm grip on her emotions, a love of nature and life, along with a completely ruthless predatory instinct. Arlia is whimsical and flits from one mood to another, she is always paying attention but never seems to be. One minute she will be humming and lost in thought with a smile on her face and the next she'll be ordering cold blooded murder. Aerwyna is calm and placid, absorbing all insults and stress calmly and with a smile on her face. She is always steady and calm until she isn't. She can turn and when she does her fury seems as deep and bottomless as the sea.

Origin Info/Details: The Four Courts of the Aldis Quadrumvirate are each run by a woman known by a color. Almost nothing is known about the Aldis sisters and the upper echelon of their criminal empire in Lost Haven. The elusive queens have kept to their own secure bastions of power abroad and are rumored to be almost century old, most scoff at this and say the ranks are just passed down. But the organization is known to have come from northern Europe to the United States as a trickle for the last couple years and has slowly built up a presence in Lost Haven. Recently there are rumors that one of the queens has left their strongholds in Europe and is coming to Lost Haven with her court. Rumors in the underworld are often slow to spread but there are whispers that the Emerald Queen is coming because things are taking a turn for the worse in Europe, but that has not been confirmed.

Powers:
Adena- Control and generation of fire. She also can make a red gel that can be infused into other objects and people. Objects become highly explosive and people gain pyromantic abilities for a period of time proportional to the amount infused into them. The liquid form of the gel is often used in specialized flamethrowers like super napalm.
Alannis- Control over the earth. She can also make a green gel that can be infused into other objects and people. Objects become durable and strong and people grow in size and strength while taking on a green hue. Her gel does not wear off like Adena's and so those she strengthens stay strengthened. Injured people who are infused heal rapidly.
Arlia- Control over the air. She can also make a transparent gel that can be infused into other objects and people. People and objects both become spectral for a short period of time and can pass unhindered through walls and solid objects. They can also float and fly after a fashion.
Aerwyna- Control and generation of water. She can also make a blue gel that when infused into other objects and people cause them to break down and turn into a liquid state. Often used a poison that is nearly impossible to detect and to trace.

The prow of the ship cut smoothly through the clear moonlit waters of the harbor. It was made in an olden style and sails spun from an emerald cloth billowed as a strong wind propelled the ship forward. But the other ship's flags did not stir at all. The ship came up to the pier and the sails fell slack as the wind abruptly died away. A group of men in dated formal wear waited on the pier and tied up the ropes to connect that ship to the dock. A ramp was wheeled over to the side and hooked to the ship as several more men whose skin were tinged with green walked down the ramp and disembarked. They dragged a bag that poured out dirt onto the ramp

The tallest man turned and then bowed along with the others as another figure drew close to the ramp but did not yet disembark. "Highness, we welcome you to Lost Haven, our Lady in Green."

Alannis' full emerald lips quirked upwards and she took a step forward onto the dirt covered ramp. Her green dress trailed behind her and she flowed more than walked forward with grace and poise broken only once. A higher wave broke against the ramp and water spilled over to wash away some of the dirt. She moved around the water but a hiss of displeasure escaped as her hand brushed against the railing on the ramp.

Her eyes were hidden but the tall man felt them boring into his own as Alannis flowed down the rest of the ramp. She spoke not a word and turned dismissively away from him. Two of the men walked before her and two followed with the tallest man walking beside her but subtly behind. The silence lasted until Alannis and her escort reached a waiting limo. The men opened the door for her and with a graceful motion she slipped inside.

"Have you prepared my residence?" Alannis' voice was life itself and resonated gently. "And identified the prey?"

"Yes Highness we have. The man called Cowl is merely human but commands many followers throughout the city, and the pestilence that walks like a man has returned to challenge him for lordship."

Alannis was quiet for a long moment before her full lips formed a smile. "When two alphas clash one emerges broken and defeated, the other broken and triumphant."

"Highness?"

The Emerald Queen caressed his arm and smiled a secret smile. "When they have spent themselves then we will strike and devour." Her voice was throaty and dripping with anticipation as her tongue licked her emerald lips. "But now we will send messengers to both of them. We have to prime the pump."

Arachne post up. Again, I tried to avoid anything too explicit. That type of description belongs elsewhere.

And I hope I got that science stuff at the end right. I remember that concept from high school biology class, but not well enough to go into great detail.

Well, since it seems quite here, I might as well start drafting up the next Raptor post.

Edit: Oh, just a heads up, I am planning on doing another Arachne post that centers around a dream. This time around, that post will be inspired by the dream Spider-Man had in the 90's Animated Series (second dream where he's the giant spider and the military is attacking). If you want me to include anyone's character(s) in that post, feel free to PM me. Just be aware that your character needs to be able to deal with a giant spider (see this video for scale - jump to 3:20).

I may not be around much tomorrow. We're supposed to get a big snow storm and I may end up not coming home tomorrow night. We'll see though
