Haha I know what you mean. The money is probably a big factor in it for some of the characters. Jenna joined in the pursuit partially for the money but mostly because the others were going after the thief. She sucks at not going along with peer pressure.

At first it might have been about the money however at this point this is probably what JC is thinking

Oh and just as a heads up. The door the kid went into is locked so Tom, Jenna or Cal will have to open it or persuade the kid to do so once we get to that point.

It's different from the tv show mind you. We're using the logo and similar name as Heroes but this roleplay is it's own beast. We're at an awkward moment to join right now but by the time I get you caught up on things and finish an accepted character sheet (which I recommend you look at some of the other accepted characters for reference when it comes to powers since it is at a weaker level compared to most superpowered roleplays) I believe things will work out well. Once I get home I can give you a brief update on what has happened so far in the roleplay but until then I recommend that you read the first OOC post and a few of the characters on the roster.

Alright, I sent you a PM Kimono.

I shall be working on my post after Viktor gets his up (and hopefully Ryver) and it should be up tonight if not sometime Saturday. Also BW, I sent something to you on Skype (okay maybe I was a little excited about what is to come and sent it in a pm too) which we might need to discuss before the plot moves too far ahead so I know what direction to take things within the next few rounds of posts.

Appearance: Blaise is someone who, on occasion, has been called "pretty" and told that he resembles his mother. He stands at about 5'9 weighing 140lbs with a smooth and relatively lean body. He has curly hair that is usually laid out or tied into a ponytail and wears golden hoops in his ears that he hardly ever takes out. His style is rather simplistic, consisting of fitted sweaters or tank tops and he has a preference for wearing sweatpants due to their comfort.

Name of ability: Avian Physiology
Description:
Level one abilities: At level 1, Blaise is able to achieve flight due to his large feathered wings. Furthermore, his entire anatomy is naturally adapted to flying and comparable to birds, especially birds of prey. His bones are hollow like a bird's, making him weigh far less than usual for a male of his build. His body is virtually devoid of fat and possesses a greater proportionate muscle mass than an ordinary human because his body processes food more efficiently than a normal human body . His eyes are specially adapted to withstand high-speed winds which would hurt the average eye. He possesses a special membrane(like a bird) in his respiratory system that enables him to extract oxygen from the air at high velocities and altitudes. His physical adaptations give him incredible protection against damage from falling. Blaise's body, while far from invulnerable, is far more resistant to blunt force trauma than an ordinary human, an adaptation that allows him to withstand large amounts of friction while in flight. He has superior agility, eyesight, hearing, flexibility, reflexes, coordination, and balance while flying due to his birds of prey-like physiology. He can fly nonstop under his own power for a maximum of approximately 4 hours before he needs to stop and rest his wings. His normal cruising speed averages around 60mph, though he is capable of diving swoops that reach up to 160mph. He can fly at 130mph without the help of a tail wind for up to half an hour at a time before tiring to an appreciable degree. He can reach a height of 10,000 feet before feeling strain.

Level three abilities: At level 3, Blaise's body has become even more adapted to flying. He can now fly nonstop under his own power for a maximum of approximately 8 hours before he needs to stop and rest his wings. His normal cruising speed now averages around 70mph and he is capable of diving swoops that reach up to 170mph. He can now fly at 140mph without the help of a tail wind for up to half an hour at a time before tiring out. Furthermore, he can now reach a height of 20,000 feet before feeling strain.

Level five abilities: At level 5, Blaise's body is now at its peak condition for flying. He can now fly nonstop under his own power for a maximum of approximately 12 hours before needs to rest. His normal cruising speed now averages around 80mph and he is capable of diving swoops that reach up to 180mph. He can now fly at 150mph without the help of a tail wind for up to half an hour at a time before exhaustion. Furthermore, Blaise can now reach the highest recorded altitude of a bird in flight which is 30,000(about the height of Mt. Everest), though, due to the extreme altitude, severe strain keeps him from being able to stay up there for no more than several minutes.

Weakness/drawback:
-Wing Injuries: Despite the impressive capabilities of his wings, they are in fact, somewhat delicate and susceptible to physical trauma and damage. Thats not to say they can't get hit, but they are indeed more injury prone than the rest of his anatomy. Furthermore, his wings take much longer to heal themselves than any other part of his body.

-Indoor Spaces: Although flying indoors is feasible, it is a much more difficult task due to the confined spaces, which makes navigation and coordination while flying indoors much less competent than if he were flying outside.

-No Hiding: Also, it should be noted that his wings are a physical mutation of his bird physiology, so he is unable to make them disappear. While they are flexible enough to allow him to fold them nicely behind his back(and under his clothes), he can never fully hide them, which at times, can be a nuisance more than anything.

You seem to be focusing strongly on the effect of flying that this Gravity Displacement could give you, why not just have the power of flying, (with wings or superman style is up to you)

I have some input on this character (If Kirra did not tell you, Kimono, I am the Co-GM) that I will share through PMs or Skype, when I have my thoughts composed.

PoS: It is unlikely that a simple flight power would give the range of uses this character seems to be trying for. I am tentatively positive about the concept, but we (Kimono and I) will have to iron out some details in chat.

@Seraph Its funny, my first option was going to be winged flight(pretty much my favorite power. Angel is my favorite X-men character), but...I already have a different character in a different rp who uses winged flight, so I still wanted flight, but with a twist.

@Blessed It isn't just a simple flight power, that's the thing. That's why I didn't actually call it flight, because its more than just a flight power. In the best way that I can describe. Its a power where Blaise's body is basically like an anti-gravity field. So normally, someone who can simply negate gravity wouldn't be able to fly because they wouldn't have anything to propel them. However, in my character's case, the aura that he produces reacts with the space around him, which includes air and gravity. it displaces the gravity allowing the levitation and then the air acts like an abrasion for the aura allowing him to use it as a force to allow him to propel. Furthermore, because this is a psionically generated aura, he can stretch it onto others allowing that same aura to displace and react to the gravity and air around them, allowing flight for them as well. LOL Its so crazy sometimes though. Powers can seem so illogical, but I always try to make them make sense in logical terms. lol

That's one of the issues I addressed in my PM to Kirra, Kimono: I respect your decision to attempt to explain flight in a way which made sense. I also understand your ability (I think) pretty well, and had some useful suggestions on how to fully explore it. I'm optimistic about your concept, but I'm waiting to hear back from Kirra on my review. Once she and I hash things out, we should be able to have a group chat with you and shore this whole thing up.

I personally like the AG field idea. It's different enough from what I've seen in the past that I am eager to help make it fit into our roleplay. I will do whatever I can to help complete the character.

I have a process, which starts off discussing things with the GM before involving the player. That way, if I'm wrong about something, or if the GM doesn't like an idea that I have, it can be handled without starting anything in the OOC. Once we both agree, we can start discussing the ideas with the player. It helps to have us both on the same page, so we're not working at cross-purposes.

However, I can say that some of the ideas involve expanding the definition of your ability and what it can do. If it's AG fields that cause flight, then it's probable that Blaise can find other uses for the fields than just flying. It was an idea that I put out there to Kirra, but I'm still waiting to hear back from her. If any of the ideas I suggest, or we talk to you about, violate the spirit of the character, then that's something we would talk about. We certainly do not want to do anything which would invalidate your concept, which is something I work very hard to avoid. I want to keep true to your vision as much as possible without going against the rules or story.

So, once I hear back from Kirra, we'll get you involved and get a discussion going. Sound good?
