The year is 1953. A decade of mostly peace, and economic growth in the United States, especially the Big Apple. Clubs, skyscrapers, shimmering lights are all what make up the city... including the mafia as well. They operate all the dirty work in city. Smuggling, drug dealing, murder, gun control, you name it. It isn't a pretty job. Out of all the Mafia families out there, there are four major ones that are trying to become the leader of the ring. They all have their pros and cons to them, and all extremely dangerous, and have the ability to become the big dogs. In this city they will have to have a truce with some, and make enemies with others. Sabotage, backstabbing, blackmailing, and other things are all fair in this battle.

During this battle, there can be friendships, relationships between the families, innocents killed, and lives ruined... and the four families aren't the only ones trying to gain control of the city. Detectives, undercover cops, and assassins could be out for them too. It'll take the biggest and baddest to come out on top.... who will take it?

Families:

The Lombardi's: The Newest of the families. The Lombardi's are known for their silver tongues and charm. Although they have recently gained infamy in the past decade, they have proven to be a serious threat. The run most of the clubs in Manhattan, and use their negotiation skills to acquire allies, and to get out of situations. Their specialty is smuggling persons and items of interest in and out of the City.

The Moriarti's: The eldest Mafia family in New York. Due to series of events and the change of how this deadly game is played, they are losing their grasp on their control of the entire city. Although they are losing it, there's a reason why they have stayed on top for so long. They are cruel, twisted, and don't take kindly to people who mess with their business. They control most of the weapons trade in New York.

The Rosetti's: The second eldest family. They have hated the Moriarti family for a long time, and the Moriarti's hate them right back. There has been many occasions that the Rosetti's have taken the lead in the business, but have always fallen short. Their family was soon to be top dogs until the leader of the family died just recently, and they fell back to second place. Although they have been around for about just as long as the Moriarti's, they are more passionate and forgiving, but won't hesitate to kill anyone who crosses them. They control the drug trade.

The Russo's: They are known for their sneaky, and tricky ways. They are masters of tricking and backstabbing others, thats how they got so high up. They usually never travel alone, and tend to seem innocent and quiet, but have the brains to take down a small army. They are extremely dangerous, and currently take control of bribing the law enforcement.

Bio: There was this story that my father would always tell me when I was a kid. He told me how my grandfather sailed here long ago, and through hard work and defying the odds, he gave our family everything we have today. Of course at this age I had no idea my family was a slowly rising mafia family, but I had this incredible sense of pride for the Lombardi family. I spent a lot of time with my family, I spent all the time I could with my grandfather and dad when they weren't out working. Like all Lombardi's, I had a silver tongue. I would convince others to give me their money at school, I would get out of trouble with the local bullies around the block, and I was known to be a pretty good wingman for my brothers and sisters.

As the years went by, I got more and more certain that our family was more than a few club owners. My mom and dad made sure I got a good education, and when I finished up high school at the age of 18, my grandfather passed, and I was brought in to the business by my dad. To the outside world, we were the charming Lombardi's who hosted the best clubs in Manhattan! To the crime world we were the slowly rising and dangerous mafia family known for getting things in and out of the city. I spent the next four years learning the rules of the road. How to shoot a gun, how to negotiate, to torture, run from the cops, run a business, the essentials for a good Lombardi man. My dad later let me run a part of our growing business. I was now the owner of the Silver Suit, New York's finest club, and running the smuggling business. I'm now experienced in the mafia game, and I can tell that the crime world is starting to respect the Lombardi's. Hopefully we can rise to the top, and run this city Lombardi style!

Personality: A hopeless romantic. He believes in happy endings, even if he is surrounded with violence, murder, and a lot of assholes who would love to kill him. Witty, charming, and unlike most people in this business, he has a bit of a heart. Due to the things he's seen (and his mother), he treats women with upmost respect. Extremely loyal to his family, and friends. Calm under pressure, and although he might not enjoy the thought later, he isn't afraid to kill anyone who interferes with family business.

Bio: I always knew I'd be a gangsta'. From growin' up in Sicily seeing the hot shots control the town, then in New York when my dad would go around little Italy extortin' the shops. I was bred to be one. It w'unt easy, lemme tell you. I had to do a fare share of things I ain't proud of. One time the owner of a steakhouse was later on his payments, we was talking to him every day- we don't use violence unless necessary. He wouldn't budge so late one night dad, god bless his soul, got me to go to the steakhouse when it was closing and drag the sunnuva bitch into the kitchen. I lit the stove and when it was real hot I pushed his face onto it. He still got the scars to this day! Let's just say he was never late again. Most of the time we can solve are issues with a talk and some champagne, kapish?

Personality: Reserved, suave, intelligent, both an intimidating and a comforting presents- depending on which side your on, can sweet talk his way out of anything, widely both feared and respected

Do you have a minimum age? i have a character I used in a mafia style rp a long time ago who was the granddaughter of the godfather :D

No age limit, but it has to be reasonable haha, a 9 year old isn't the best choice, but a 14 or 16 year old might have a small role in the mafia business

How would feel about a female fatale character? Someone to act as a attention grabber or something of the sorts?

Bio:

Tess was the daughter of Frederico Benetti, a close family friend to the Lombardi's who had been involved in allot of the work centred around moving hot items around the city. But following the death of her father and with the absence of her mother who had died years before due to an accidental overdose, she was taken under the wing of the Lombardi's as a respectful gesture to the memory of her father. Tess was greatfull and without anywhere or anyone else to turn too, she accepted the offer and has since grown to become a friend of the family like her father before her. She was given work at one of the clubs, a comfy job behind the bar which suited her fine and it's there that she's remained for the time being. She is forever greatfull to the Lombardi's for taking care of her during her time of need and has sought to repay their kindness through hard work and on occasion, taking care of certain details here and there.

Personality: Genuine and kind, incredibly loyal to the Lombardi's after they took care of her. She is highly perceptive in social situations and is very good as utilising strategies which focus on deception, misdirection and manipulation. Despite that women aren't usually allowed to be included into the hidden affairs of the family, her skills in these areas have been noted which has recently raised discussions on whether her talents should be put to use where they can be. She's a good talker and enjoys in depth conversations, she does have a temper, though it's hard to provoke due to her kinder nature.

Name: Lucan "The Handyman" Gorbachev

Age: 55

Appearance:





Lucan is not a pleasant looking man. He is tall (approximately 6'1) and lithe, and has a constant expression of distaste or disgust on his face. He walks with a slight hunch, making him look like some kind of vulture when he walks. Although he looks frail from the outside, he's actually exceptionally muscled, and can match and even overcome a man twenty years younger than him. Apart from his surprisingly built body, Lucan is also pockmarked with scars from a variety of weapons.

His favorite outfit is a black turtleneck sweater with a leather jacket on top and denim jeans, with leather gloves and work boots. He also tends to wear a pair of black teashade sunglasses, and occasionally a plain black tuque style hat to go with them.

Face wise, Lucan has an eternal grim look about him. His short beard is kept well-cut, but not even that can hide the raggedness of his features. A smoker from a young age, Lucan is almost always seen with a cigarette in his mouth, only stopping when it would be improper to smoke.

Lucan is very visibly Russian, in his accent, features, and mannerisms.

Family: Moriarty

Relation to Godfather: No blood relation, but they're somewhat close friends.

Role in family: Boss Moriarti's favorite Hitman.

Bio: Born on a farm outside the Russian industrial city of Volgograd (later renamed to Stalingrad) on November 5th, 1898, Lucan was very much a simple boy growing up. His mother and father were rather well-off dairy farmers, devout christians, and overallgood people. They donated plenty of money to the poor and their church, saving only what they needed with a little extra for emergencies. This meant that growing up, Lucan not only had very little friends, but he didn't have much to play with. Since he was being raised as a farmhand, Lucan's parents did not send him to school, which left Lucan woefully uneducated and friendless, but it also left him with a distinct lack of empathy, something that would come in handy later in life.

At the age of sixteen, Lucan was pressed into military service to fight in what will later be known as World War 1. It was in his first battle that Lucan killed his first man, running a veteran German combatant through with his bayonet during a trench assault. Intoxicated by the feeling of taking his own life into his hands and killing a man who threatened him and his country, Lucan continued to fight through the entirety of WW1, zealously killing around 100 more men.

Returning to the farm after such bloodshed was not easy. Wracked with PTSD and a mild bloodlust, Lucan became a much more aggressive person. He lived in a state of constant tension, until the Russian Civil War gave him a chance to unwind himself all over again. Taking up the Communist ideals with a burning passion, Lucan fought through his second war being there to personally see Stalin take power. Along the way, he had lost his family and the farm, but to him, all that mattered now was to keep feeding his new addiction.

He participated in some minor conflicts after that, including the conflicts leading up to WW2, and once again joined his countrymen in the defense of the motherland. For Lucan, WW2 was the war to end all wars. Fighting Nazis from the beginning to the end, Lucan quickly racked up kills and honors, including medals awarded for heroic performance during the battles of Stalingrad and Berlin. After WW2, Lucan found himself displaced, and decided moving away from Russia, a country he had spent pretty much his entire life fighting for, was the next step for him.

With around twenty military awards and a staggering 645 kills under his belt, Lucan left for New York, to seek new opportunities there. However, he very quickly found himself doing bloody work again, this time for the Moriarti family.

Personality:

Lucan, despite his age, is an incredibly fierce man. Loyal, unshakeable, and pretty much fearless, he's exactly what a veteran of 41 years of violent bloodshed would be. He treats death as if it was a triviality, finding no qualms with killing just about anyone, no matter who they are. His jaded nature and fierce combat mentality are hidden behind a calm, collected, and even sometimes friendly demeanor that can fall away at any given moment.

Whenever he's in a fight, Lucan is a force of nature. Given his experience on the battlefield, Lucan can just as easily kill a man with a knife, gun, his hands, or any other weapon out there. In hand-to-hand combat, Lucan is ferocious, combing surprising speed with brutal, mercilessly aimed punches and kicks.

Steven stands at a full height of 7'6, considered to have an "awkward" way about him. He is not considered to be muscular, but rather lanky.

Role in Family: Assists in strategic affairs involving other families, in addition to assisting in one of the downtown clubs, he also gives advice on how to go about social affairs.

Bio: Ever since I was a kid, people looked at me with contempt, pity, sometimes hatred. I was a freak. My father, though, always was supportive, told me I would amount to anything I wanted to amount to. Good man, my father. I was fresh out of school when he died. I was just a kid, seventeen years old. Oh, I had already figured out what the Lombardi Family, my family, did at this point. Since I was a kid, I couldn't hurt a fly. I'm not a killer.
What I am is something of a social man. Despite my outward appearance, hell, my outward appearance probably helped, I knew how people worked. I could read how they felt. Powerful skill when you want to help run a club. Got myself a job at one of the clubs the Family runs. Sure, I tend the bar, wash glasses, but I'm determined to be an asset to this Family... no matter the cost...

Personality: Steven is agreeable and generally kind, though he is not afraid to speak his mind. He is fiercely loyal to his family and states things rather plainly, feeling that he has no time to deal with tedious "hows" and "whys". Steven is empathetic, and could not hurt a fly. However, this means that he is no killer, and finds situations where he has to kill to be impossible. He is slow to anger, though can be easily frustrated.

Other: Due to his unusual height, there is some strain on Steven's heart, causing certain complications. He is not too physically active, and is commonly seen sitting and relaxing when he can. He carries his father's small handgun in case of emergency.
