I re-did some of Paul's and Lacus's dialogue from the initial post. Looking back I wished I made Paul come off as somewhat different. Of course it could just be Paul describing himself. I may re-do some of the first post later but I'd figured I'd at least say something due to dead in the water OOC conversation.

Also hope you guys are lookin' forward to thanks giving.

Indeed it will Zarkun. Hopefully it won't be that bad so we can finish up this chapter so we can finally introduce you. Regardless if you want something to do in the mean time feel free to read the first part of the story. It's not as good as it could be but it still is something.

Some quick examples of what I fixed or attempted to at least:

Paul's relationship with Lacus is given a bit more insight and even though the love is very flawed and in my opinion not as written as it should be it is still what it is.

In it I put in Paul was colder and a war monger. That isn't true. Paul while violent in combat doesn't normally enjoy it but he doesn't fight his emotions that tend to agree with fighting another human being either. He fights when he needs to or when he is emotionally unstable.

I explored Jason's past a bit more in the first post but it is nothing worth noting just his own thoughts.

I fixed an error that Strike and Aegis were 'recaptured' during the Battle of London in Paul's verse. In truth OMNI has most of their gundams in Paul's verse.

I added in some minor other stuff that most people probably don't care about. However if we do finish this I want to be at least somewhat coherent. My biggest mistakes so far have not been writing down the names of some pilots and crew members in the OOC. Like having Yuri's name as Boris or the other way around. So to fix that I listed Yuri's last name as Boris instead.

So, I didn't respond to it because I've actually been pretty busy for once and might still be till the end of next week, but the whole "oh the mobile trace system is an unfair advantage" is kind of a bullshit point. I'd completely agree with anyone saying that a mobile fighter can be unfair because of how they're shown tanking some beam attacks unaided and are piloted by superhuman fighters capable of dodging bullets, but going "oh they get humanlike motion" when that's a thing for basically any high quality melee suit across universes is a bit silly. Especially if we consider that the shows don't particularly care and give more or less everything a wide range of motion anyway.

Going on that "any high quality melee suit", humanlike range of motion is touted as a feature with both the Exia line and the Destiny, for instance, and most Mobile Fighters lack something like the Wings of Light or any other flight/high speed unit to boost their mobility. The mobile trace system also has the distinct disadvantage of actually transmitting damaging feedback to the pilot's body, while any mobile suit equipped with something like the psycommu system gets the advantages of not actually having to deal with limited controls without feeling like they're getting shot every time they get shot. And yes, psycommu piloting has its own set of vulnerabilities, but they're much rarer and harder to exploit than "your piloting suit makes you feel that beam".

The ill effects of this cannot be overstated, as they are enough to reduce a superlative fighter like Gentle Chapman to cheating and mental stimulants to make up for the damage his body took across multiple Gundam Fights, and he wasn't even a close-range brawler constantly taking punishment, he was a sharpshooter so good his performance led to other nations focusing on developing better long range combat technology. I'm not changing my character 'cause that's gonna be too much of a hassle now, I'm just saying that singling out the mobile trace system as the one reason why all mobile fighters are banned is kind of silly.

Zero I am not going to argue anything with you about the trace system. I have already given you a concession for the sake of allowing you to enjoy the rp more by allowing you to change your entire suit line up and you're starting with a gundam f91. A late UC suit that could easily defeat most of the suits we have in the ship terms of speed and abilities even with an old type pilot. I am not letting it happen no matter what happens. Period. End of discussion as I'm pulling the GM Card hard here.

Now everyone I'm going to see if I can post tomorrow but I don't expect to have much to reply to due to it being thanksgiving and black friday. I hope all of you had a good thanksgiving.

That's at the end of my post up there, stating that I'm not trying to change my character, so that's not the point at all. I'm just explaining why singling out the mobile trace system out of all the perfectly valid reasons to deny use of every mobile fighter is silly. Since you bring it up, my change of MS wasn't really about my own enjoyment, it was about keeping the cast diverse in battle. I liked my original lineup a lot, that's why I picked it I assure you, but it would've been yet another melee focused unit and we already have several characters that do that, so I thought I should diversify. I explained as much when I proposed the switch, too. Also, now my unit's technology is an issue? I thought we had to pick proper high tier units or essentially suffer the consequences, like you basically going "pick something powerful or get stood up by NPCs" when I first suggested the Phantom for a final unit, which is far more advanced than the F91 Imagine I might add, or giving Sugihito crap about picking Sandrock later on.

Yes I did say that. I said that with the thought process of you picking something along the lines of The first season OO Gundams, Gundam X early series, Gundam AGE first/second season, The Wing Boys suits (Shenlong, Deathscythe, Wing Gundam, or Heavyarms), the early/mid season SEED Suits, the early era Gundams of UC like GPO1, Gundam MK ll, a mass produced zeta gundam, and or some other grunt unit series like a Geara Zulu or Doga.

Raigo is basically just a more fancy strike gundam with somewhat better gear and battery life, Gundam X is an upgraded RX-78 with it's power weapon only able to be used during the night, Sandrock is the tankiest gundam of the early wing boy suits allowing Sug to take blows and keep going early game. Sug picked the Sandrock late game by choice and by not being able to branch out really well, I allowed it thinking Sug could play support role late like Sandrock is meant to be. Gundam Exia with trans-am was given with the concession by fubuki to not one hit people with it. This is the start of the game and your suit can pierce through the shields of mobile suits without issue and has beam shields which renders our attacks in return pitiful. What does Raigo and Gundam X have on F91? Next to nothing in comparison. Raigo without his striker pack can't even lift off the ground for very long. Sandrock is laughed at with it's armor being shot by piercing beams twice or thrice. Exia maybe stands a chance if trans-am is used correctly. I accepted your suit change thinking you'd be putting F91 in second place and due to my error in thinking and not wanting to let things get more complicated I allowed it without speaking up because once I noticed you'd already shot Angelo.

The F91 is one of the few Late UC suits that can serve a sniper role by having, you know, an effective long range weapon designed to gun down specific targets in a single, clean shot. Like a sniper rifle, except if the enemy has to be within close proximity then the weapon is going to be more effective since I'm not actually shooting from a safe distance, unseen, like an actual sniper would. I picked it because it was pretty much the only option that'd allow me to keep most of the character intact and require minimal edits from my part. I would've picked something else otherwise, but then most marksman suits are older and therefore shittier specs-wise, and thus would be unable to compete with the given threats or your outlook of "pick something that's high power or get fucked".

Generally speaking there's few sniper units past the OYW because the entirety of the tech development across Universal Century focuses on mobility, since a beam shot will fuck basically anything up in one go anyway. And yes, it has to be a UC line, because most other Universes already have representatives in the game. By my count the only ones not represented sans UC are Age and G. And since G is banned, Age is meh and I'll clearly get fucked over if I pick a GM Sniper or some other reasonable sniper unit...not to mention that it'd require more extensive editing, especially by this point. As for the rest of the team's units:

Raigo has Phase Shift, which renders anything non-beam a non-threat while the F91 has paper armor, and has the distinct advantage of being able to pick and choose equipment for whatever situation pops up and refuel on the go. Having a functional flight pack is already a pretty huge advantage in mobility since, despite what you seem to think, aerial MS battles are rare as fuck in UC, it's why they're obsessed with transforming MS. The Rozen Zulu can't actually fly under gravity at all, for instance. Even Late UC suits are shit at it unless specifically built for it, and while the F91 can go into the air for long enough that it counts as flight, it doesn't mean that it's meant to or that it's actually good at it.

Comparing the X, a high performance unit from an apocalyptic conflict well beyond the scope of the OYW, to the RX-78 is plain nonsense no matter how similar their equipment might be. The only way I can see that matchup is with all the concessions the RX-78 gets for being The Gundam in games and whatnot, but that isn't the case, we're talking powerwank. I mean specs. It'd make more sense to compare the X to something from Wing, if perhaps less extreme about its powerlevel, and even then you seem to be just fine with Arthanus' character making up for his perfectly serviceable unit having basic Gundam equipment by being a super newtype super soldier.

00 Gundams, even the early ones, are on a tier of their own what with having essentially infinite power, effective flight without the need for any kind of specialized equipment and incredibly high power weapons by comparison to other universes, not even going into Trans-Am. Exia is packed with weapons that cut beam shields and barriers, packed with them. It took UC until Crossbone to hit that level of melee, in an era where high speed close range combat is the main battle doctrine, and even then the units that have weapons like those are also cutting edge. The F91 has its guns, which are its main feature and are so unstable the whole thing is a heat-sink and still spazzes out and overheats. I'll take this chance to remind you that Exia also has the humanlike range of motion that bothers you about the mobile trace system.

Sandrock is arguable. Specifically, whether its armor should be able to withstand the accelerated beam shots, which are explicitly designed to deal with beam shields and I-Fields, not extra thick armor made of Plotanium. And even then this is no reason to berate a player for picking out a Mobile Suit he likes.

A comparison or fight between Raigo and the F91 has to many variables to actually be a good example really. While F91 has it's piercing beams and it's after images most of Raigo's packs have versatility to allow the pilot to distract and push hard on a suit. Or straight out overpowering a suit in the case of a sumbullet pack if it get's a less than agile enemy. However pack changing takes a bit of time so Raigo would be open during the pack change unless it managed to get a pause in the fight to do so it wouldn't end well. And the flight pack isn't as big an advantage as you say it is in the video of it by gundam info it clearly shows the F91's abilities in air to air combat as being at least passable enough to take on enemy units in brief gun to gun fights.

The specs for Gundam X and RX-78 are the following:
Model number: GX-9900
Code name: Gundam X
First deployment: pre-A.W. 0001
Accommodation: pilot only, in standard cockpit in torso
Dimensions: head height 17.1 meters
Weight: empty 7.5 metric metric tons; max gross weight unknown
Armor materials: lunar titanium alloy armor and frame
Powerplant: ultracompact fusion reactor, power output rating unknown
Propulsion: unknown
RX-78
Accommodation: pilot only, in standard cockpit in torso with Core Block System using FF-X7 Core Fighter
Dimensions: overall height 18.5 meters; head height 18.0 meters
Weight: empty 43.4 metric tons; max gross 60.0 metric tons
Armor materials: lunar titanium alloy
Powerplant: Minovsky type ultracompact fusion reactor, output rated at 1380 kW
Propulsion: rocket thrusters: 2 x 24000 kg, 4 x 1870 kg
Performance: maximum thruster acceleration 0.93 G; 180-degree turn time 1.5 seconds (1.1 seconds after magnetic coating upgrade); maximum ground running speed 165 km/h

In terms of weight and height it goes to the RX-78. In terms of speed it goes to the Gundam X. Weapons being special on one end is a bazooka and a gundam hammer for the RX-78. The Gundam X has it's satellite cannon, the shield buster rifle, and the Flash system. On a one on one fight the chances of charging up for a satelliate cannon shot is pretty poor and the machine wouldn't be able to use bits if it did it would be over for most suits. I'd give this match up to Gundam X for a speed edge and it's shield buster rifle. The machine is no joke but if I could compare it to the F91 I'd think it comes up lacking due to the machine's beam weapons, and it's after images. It is likely being a mass produced gundam does it no favors as well.If you compare it to the wing suits like you say it comes down to the ability of X to dodge wing's buster rifle, not lose sight of deathscythe, overwhelm sandrock, and out melee/shoot Shenlong while avoiding being lit on fire or smacked with the dragon head. Heavyarms is out of luck in a one on one fight likely due to it's primary weapon being a Gatling gun and missiles which may prove less than effective against the buster shield rifle and the vulcans of X.

Not to discredit heavyarms but it's uses are limited to overwhelming with firepower and with the gundarium alloy used by x it'd be tougher than usual to fight off in close combat. It (gundam x) comes out on top only if it can do those things but it only takes one hit to kill X by way of Shenlong, deathscythe, and wing gundam. I'd call it a win for shenlong, wing, or deathscythe. Sandrock could very well beat Gundam X if sandrock managed to cleave through it's shield and keep itself from being fired upon too much. Heavyarms may be able to win if it's weapons can pierce the gundarium armor of X.

Gundam X fighting F91 leaves it with only the options of a Satellite Cannon shot or beam spamming with it's rifle. It could last for a bit against f91 but in the end it goes down with the power of piercing beam weapons eventually getting through the buster rifle shield or outmaneuvering it from above.

Sandrock vs. F91 is simple going by the video above it seems all it needs to do is keep in the air and unless Sandrock can throw those shotels pretty well it's going to have a hard time winning. It's very possible to end in a draw due to the study nature of Sandrock but it is what it is.

The machines do in fact have infinite power without Trans-Am activated and once they activate it they either win or they lose massively in performance. They've been fought off by grunt units in mass before and Graham/Ali have shown repeatedly that they can be beaten or outmatched into a draw. The ability to move the way they do is because of the machines' pilots. Lockon, Ali Al Sanchez, Innovades, Setsuna, and Allelujah are all masterful pilots due to either a high talent for piloting that exceeds most pilots, genetical enhancements, or superior technology. Graham was able to fight on par with setsuna using the flag, Allelujah is a super soldier literally, and all of the suits were pretty high tech. If you put Lasse in Exia and throw him against Graham I'd believe Graham could beat Lasse instead of the massing draws between him and Setsuna. Setsuna's ability to move Exia is due to how well it's made and how well he knows how to pilot the thing. A mobile trace gundam fighter has instantaneous reactions to everything the pilot does physically. If you put Lasse in Exia with a gundam trace system he may very well be able to move on Setsuna's level and keep up with Graham. The key to F91 beating Exia is using the after images. Otherwise if it tried to straight up fight Exia it may go very bad for it. I'd give Exia the win but only due to how advanced Exia is in the hands of a skilled pilot. If you put Reve up against Leo there's a good chance Leo could beat Reve due to her overconfidence. But even then Exia is a powerful suit and it was made very well by Celestial Being.

While after writing the above I may have accepted the fact that I may have hyped up the abilities of F91 with a old type pilot in it I still believe it is a force to be reckoned with. There is still a chance for the biocomputer to play a role in it even if it screws up an old type pilot. It's ability to fly gives it an edge over suits that can't. It's piercing weapons give it an edge if a unit is too slow to dodge or is dependent on shields. However some armor and the nature of things like Raigo's beam deflecting shield may even the odds in some instances.

Also for Arthanus's character I wouldn't say he is a super newtype as much as a newtype whom has had a lot of experience fighting opponents with his powers like Amuro. He can't use his newtype abilities to transmit thoughts and he can't use it to put a suit back together. When I think of super newtypes I think of Judau Ashta. The dude is one of the most legitimate aces in the whole of the gundam franchise. The whole thing with the trans-am was for the purity of plot convenience and that all it was besides Reve being a horrible pilot in the sense of keeping herself under control. Also I have never bashed on Sughito's suit intentionally. I have stated that there are things I am limited to do in the roleplay due to the nature of sandrock being a land unit which is why I made Rondo appear specifically for Sandrock to have a challenger that can damage it slightly while still not able to beat it outright. And the whole deal with some suits being able to fly is for the same reason that Puru is able to use her funnels in atmosphere. This world is not normal and it is not Earth clearly. What it is will be revealed later.

Alright Zarkun I introduced your guy. For Leo, Reve, and Zarkun this is a chance for you to reflex on how you got to the signal. Everyone just place themselves in a spot with an NPC and I'll roll with it from there. As long as it's not with Jason and the bridge crew then it should be ok. For anyone who wants to talk to Stella she could be out of the medical bay but she won't be in a mobile suit just yet. I know I forced Nena into a suit a little too soon but it helped get rid of Saturnalia.
