Gwen kept her steps light and swift and she soon found herself successfully within the confines of the room with the large tank. She gazed upon the merman in wonder and placed a hand on the glass as he too was pressed upon it. Gwen was speechless and wanted to ask so much but she wasn't sure if they would be able to communicate successfully. Instead, she just smiled gently, hoping it was enough to show that she meant no harm.
There was something there! And it was coming this way! It worked! But wait, it was human? He watched it- her, approach the tank quickly and place a hand on the glass of the tank. How curious. She seemed more surprised than he was, even. Then again, he kind of expected that humans probably had some role in whatever was going on when he discovered that he was stuck in the tank in the first place. But then he'd seen the snake-creature and scary things started happening and he kind of lost track of his thought processes from there.
Anyway, whatever this was, it was still kind of odd to see a human so close. He lowered his face closer to hers, resting the dolphin-like tail at the bottom of the tank, and moved his hand to where hers was placed. They really were quite similar, even though her fingers seemed to lack the webbing in between that he had. The dark-haired merman tilted his head in curiosity at the smile she gave him. Did she want to tell him something? Should he say something? Where would he start? Was it okay to even make noise? He glanced out toward the hall, wondering if there were still dangerous things out there.
