"I'm going upstairs, and call my friends." Jacie smiled before she ran upstairs to her bedroom. She shut the door behind her, she pulled her cell phone out of her pocket, and started to call one of her best friends. As she talked to her friend, Jacie pulled out a suitcase from underneath her bed, she thought she heard something shake, so she leaned down, and looked underneath the bed when she saw a small box.
She grabbed the box and smiled when she realized that it was the box that she shoved all of her stuff from her childhood in; she opened it, and pulled out the journal she used to write in everyday. Jacie started to flip through the pages, she giggled as she started to read some of the pages, her imagination hasn't changed much; she still believed in fairies and mermaids. When the older female flipped to the back, a piece of paper fell out, and when she picked it up, it was a drawing of a large castle.
"Oh, I remember this. I used to pretend that it was my castle, Sir Sal and I would run around the halls. I wish life was simple like that again, I want to be a little kid one more time before I have to fully grow up." Jacie whispered to herself. She continued to flip through the book until her eyes become heavy, the next thing she knew, she fell to the floor, and her vision went black.
--
A moan escaped her lips, her hands went up to her head, and started to rub it when her mind finally realized that something or someone was breathing on her. Her eyes flew open to only be meant with blazing red eyes staring back at her; Jacie sat up, and kicked away from the creature. "Go away!" She screamed at the black wolf.
The wolf growled at her as it moved closer to her, when the girl stopped moving, the animal started to sniff Jacie. The wolf's ears perked up quickly, it glanced around the woods, and started to run off with a howl. Jacie jumped up, she dusted herself off, and wondered what the wolf was spooked by; that didn't matter to her right now. She needed to figure out where she was, and how she got back home.
She coughed and tried to push away the fog that had surrounded her, she pushed her hair away from her face, and fixed the crown on her head. "Alright, now to figure out where I am." Before Jacie could go anywhere though, a pale, deathly creature walked up to her, she thought the creature almost looked human but it almost looked like the creature was floating. She soon noticed the ripped up silvery wings on the back of the fairy creature. "Hi.. I'm lost. May you able to tell me where I am?"
The fairy creature floated around her, the black eyes looked Jacie all over until it stopped in front of her. "The forgotten forest." It hissed out with a raspy voice.
Jacie frowned with a pout. "That doesn't sound like a very nice name. Though it does match everything else." Her eyes glanced around the black trees and eerily fog.
"It use to have a different name, and this forest use to a beautiful Kingdom but when selfish princess left, everything changed." The fairy hissed and looked Jacie over. "What is your name, child?"
"Jac.." But Jacie wasn't able to finish when the fairy threw her hand out and placed the long, cold fingers across Jacie's lips.
"Child, you must not speak that name out loud. It will get you killed on the spot. Now come with me, you must be new, I still can't understand how new creatures are able to find their way into this place, it should have stopped after the princess left us. That does not matter now though, we need to find shelter before the witches start to fly out." She moved her hand away from Jacie and started to move further into the forest.
Jacie didn't understand why her name was not to spoken about but this place seemed odd and un-safe, she couldn't believe that she was going to follow fairy creature into some darken woods but it seemed the only thing to do right now. Plus, she didn't want to find out if the witches comment was true or not.
"Now, child, I think I may take you to Sal, it seems you haven't been touched by the fog yet." The creature hissed to itself.
Jacie didn't understand what this creature was talking about but she knew one thing, when it spoke about a Sal, Jacie had felt her chest tighten, and her body flinched. She ignored it as she shivered from the coldness.
