This can either be a one on one, or a 3 or 4 person RP. I'm not sure yet which would be more interesting.
But now for my customary small RP introduction.
There have always been two sides. The United Front, and the Faithful.
The United Front made up of all the nations and countries that valued an open approach to government and to people's rights. A man could opt to pursue a political career no matter where he came from. A woman could climb her way up from the dregs of society to become a powerful media mogul, and a any child could work to become the CEO of the biggest multi-national company in the Front. Freedom, liberty, and the ability to become whatever you wanted. Free healthcare and education to all that might want it. The United Front didn't control, they helped everyone and anyone under their flag.
The Faithful. Made up dozens of nations, where freedom is something that comes only to a rare few. No man, woman or child is totally free to take charge of their own destiny. All are subject to the will of the Temple and the Clergy. Only the Clergy is truly free. Money, food, water, fuel and even energy is strictly controlled by the Temple. Sent out to only those that are believed to need it the most. All the rest must earn these things. Only Shelter is free to the people, in Temple owned barracks. And all are subject to the word of the Clergy. Entire families can be ripped apart if the Clergy believes the man power of family is better used in differant places. A son can be sent to the farthest reaches of the Faithful nations if it is believed he can do better good there, and he has no say in the matter.
The United Front gave freely, while the people of the Faith were kept under an iron thumb. Is it no surprise that both sides believed themselves to be superior to the other? Is it still no surprise that they would confront each other over it?
Where the United Front could raise armies with modern weapons and the most modern equipment, the Faithful could raise Hordes, with any weapon that their disposal. It was modern power against the weight of numbers. And somehow this kept both sides at a stalemate.
For years, decades, centuries, this is how the war between the two sides went. Neither side able to keep the other on the back foot for long.
And then the Faith found a new way. A Temple scientist produced, "The Word" a powerful weapon that literally took the free will of entire cities away from them and converted them right then and their to the Faith. The United Front was soon on the back foot. As the people they meant to protect would suddenly attack them from behind. They started to retreat, escaping the farthest reaches of their land to keep ahead of the rising tide of the Faithful's Word powered mobs.
In answer, the United Front created "The Nightmare Protocol".
Cybernetically enhanced soldiers, loyal and deadly, surgically and physically enhanced, and unable to be turned against the Front. These men and women became the deep forward line of the Front to push back the hordes of common and brainwashed Faithful. To the Faithful, these deadly, shadowy and physically enhanced soldiers were known as a simple word, "Nightmares". To learn there is a squad of them in their cities is to know fear, and to dread the night.
I'm going to see how much interest this garners.
