I inserted Samurai as a homage to George Lucas inspiration for the Jedi. It doesn't hurt anything.

Lolz Too Sentimental? What?

"Inspiration" No actual Samurai exist in the Star Wars Galaxy.

Too sentimental, he has belongings from his parents, from his friends. That is attachment which is forbidden for a Jedi. One Item I could let you get away with.

Kal El said
It isn't a family link. It's a notion that such masters have been loyal to the Order for years.

What such Masters? If it's his parents were masters and were breaking the rules they wouldn't be treated lightly just for being masters. In fact if anything they would be dealt with more harshly, so that youngers did not follow in their stead.

Kal El said
Fine. I don't see the problem so much with that as not every Jedi has or will get the exact same but fine.

Because you all go nicely to Illum and get your crystals, though this bit is no longer relevant as your mum is no longer Jedi and you won't even know her.

Kal El said
Except...they can and would be because they are my npcs with their own motives.

Okay so your dark Jedi weren't typical and didn't kill Mace and your Padawan. The Council would Still track them down in order to arrest them or kill them if necessary. Why?

1) The Sith were in the galaxy and the Jedi Order wouldn't want them gaining more power.
2) One of these Dark Jedi were capable of beating Mace Windu

Sureeee these Dark Jedi might be your NPCs. But you cannot dictate the actions of the Jedi Council.

Kal El said
That doesn't mean he has to have them.

If he doesn't I need reasons why.

Kal El said
Trials of Knighthood tend to be different at times depending on the jedi.

Yes, they're different. In fact each trial was different but they still had to do five trials.

The five Trials: Skill, Courage, Spirit, Flesh, and Insight.

You can't ignore this bit.

Kal El said
I will argue for my character or at least certain points because I got things to back that up and/or just doesn't sit right with me either. Though I'll probably create a whole new character anyway.

Thankyou Kal El. You have no idea how refreshing that is, I am sorry if I seem harsh. I typically try to help players re-order their CS to work out for me. However that has burned me in the past so that is why I am showing no quarter.

Ghost Shadow said
Knight Alecar Drey Male Miraluka 34 Alpheridies Thoughtful, deliberative, slightly cautious, well-read, humble, polite, deep veneration of the Force. A good-natured man who displays many good characteristics of a Jedi, Alecar nevertheless has a few flaws of his own. Firstly, his strong belief in The Unifying Force as opposed to the more mainstream Living Force inclines him to believe in neither a Light or a Dark Side, but the Force as a single entity. Because of this, he has no inhibitions against studying and even practicing what are considered 'Dark Side techniques' or learning more about the Sith. Despite all this, Alecar strives to keep balance, and not lean too far either in the Light or Dark side. Secondly, Alecar does not believe in the Order's creed that emotions should be suppressed, believing that emotions help promote individuality and creativity. Because of this, Alecar displays more sincere emotion as opposed to other Jedi, though he keeps a professional and calm demeanor at most times. Lastly, Alecar does not believe that a Jedi should be forbidden from romantic relationships, as love can be experienced without strong passion or jealousy and can strengthen both individuals in said relationship. While Alecar does not outspokenly condone romantic behavior in the Order, he will not condemn it either. Though extensive lightsaber combat, Alecar only displays skill in Shii-Cho and Niman, though his naturally heightened reflexes come in handy during combat. Besides lightsaber combat, Alecar shows great skill when it comes to diplomacy, his friendly, approachable demeanor and willingness to see things from different perspective's make him a moderated speaker. Secondly, he displays great knowledge of history, specifically that of the Old Republic, while also sharing his personal philosophy with that of the ancient Je'daii Order. Thirdly, Alecar shows proficiency when it comes to speaking with and/or teaching Padawans and Initiates, his warm, scholarly personality making him a well-prepared teacher. Alecar carries little on his person aside from his robes, a green-hued , and a personal holocron. Sacrificing time that could be spent studying martial arts, Alecar's skill displays itself when it comes to matters of the Force. Born with the ability of Force Sight, Alecar is not limited by the normal perception of sight, and can see through walls and doors, see through the dark, detect an individual's Force aura, and detect objects around him; the only limitation(s) being that he cannot perceive color or holograms, and that personal appearance is difficult for him to perceive. Besides this, Alecar displays a great amount of skill in Force Sense, and can use the Force to feel his environment; whether it be to detect approaching enemies, find something hidden, or even detect traps. Perhaps Alecar's most well known skill is his mastery of Telekinesis. Alecar is so skilled with it, in fact, that not only can he perform nearly every aspect of it (including the darker Force Choke and Force Crush ability), but he can also apply it to different uses as well, including the famed Lightsaber Throw, and levitation, as well as lifting nearly five of the Muntuur stones in the Jedi Temple. Besides these powers, he is also skilled in Force Jump, Force Deflection, and Force Lightning (the latter skill only rarely used). Alecar's life started out very similar to other Jedi's. He was born on the Miraluka's adopted homeworld of Alpheridies with his family line being heavily involved in the Miralukan Luka Sene. Because of this, Alecar displayed a high amount of Force-Sensitivity, and was prompted by the Jedi Watchman there to be taken to Coruscant for training. Though his father, a prominent member of the Luka Sene, felt his son should remain and learn from them, he eventually relinquished, and Alecar was taken to Coruscant. Practically being raised at the Temple, Alecar had little memory of his family back home except for a single wood pendant around his neck that his mother sent as a parting memento. This pendant served as a tether for him, reminding him of the life back home. The Masters of the Temple were slightly concerned by this, but found Alecar still displayed the traits to make a good Jedi. When the time came for his Initiate Trials, Alecar quickly memorized the Jedi Code, and constructed his lightsaber, but found himself lacking when it came time for the annual Jedi Temple Apprentice Tournament. Alecar was not strong like the other Initiate's, or very skilled when it came to swordfighting, and was ill-prepared for when the fateful day came. True to his thinking, he was defeated early on in the tournament, and many a Knight looked to the other, more promising Initiates...except for one. An Ithorian Jedi Master by the name of Goza Paba approached the young Miraluka, and noted the Force sensitivity within him; finding that spark, and chose him as a Padawan. Goza Paba shared the Ithorian's philosophy of peace and love of nature, enforcing serenity and meditation into Alecar, who could only look on with scholarly attention, absorbing as much information as he possibly could. The two of them formed a close father-son relationship, with Paba's influence making Alecar more peaceful and kind, as well as honing his connection to the Force. The two of them would spend hours studying in the Temple Library together, with the Padawan learning much in the way of Force techniques and history, becoming deeply connected to the Force as a result, though this caused his martial skill to atrophy as well. Eventually, Alecar came of age to take the Knight's Trial and be christened a full Knight of the Jedi Order. Fearful a similar result as the Initiate Trials would occur, Alecar spent hours shutting out everyone around him, even his own master, meditating alone in his quarters. Alecar passed his trials with little issue, though he lost the wooden pendant given to him during the Trial of the Flesh, causing him great loss as he now had no connection to his homeworld or family. Now fully christened a Knight, Alecar spent his time at the Temple, studying or helping Initiate's at the Library. Even he, however, was unaware of the terrors that Order 66 were about to inflict. n/a

Accepted. As you know we don't need a specific number of people to play however I will wait for a couple of more people before we start the In Character.

Name: Shir-Val-Kuul
Gender: Female
Species: Tiss'shar
Age: 27
Homeworld: Tiss'sharl

Appearance:

Personality: While Shir is not a person who directly disagrees with the Jedi Code, she disagrees in many ways with how the modern Jedi Order carries itself. Although she had never considered leaving the order, she cannot help but to feel that the Jedi's current path is far too short sighted and narrow minded, and that they have lost sight of what the Jedi are meant to be.
Shir is a person who tends to break a lot of molds and does not easily conform to categorization. She does not hide or suppress emotion to the same extent as other Jedi, but they rarely note her acting on either of its extremes. She does not always approach situations with the same formality as other Jedi, but she is still quite well-spoken and educated. Overall, she tries to mold herself to be adaptive in any respect she can.
Flaws: As a combat specialist, Shir has not dedicated as much time to honing her force abilities as some other Jedi. One of the force abilities she did take time to learn, force body, can leave her injured and weakened, to which her limted healing abilities cannot repair in any short amount of time. As well, while her unique personality among Jedi gives her perspective that others would not have, she is more vulnerable to her emotions as a result.

Skills: Lightsaber forms: Shii-Cho, Makashi, Soresu, Ataru.
Shir's fighting style involves rapidly and unpredicatbly shifting techniques mid-combat based on need, or to confuse foes. As a weapon master, she is skilled with a versatile set of weapons and styles.

Equipment: An extended hilt, dual phase lightsaber, orange color (uses two color crystals)
Lightsaber shoto, green crystal
A tool belt with pouches for useful items (datapad, comm link, etc...)

Force Abilities: As a combat specialist, Shir's focus has not been on strengthening her force abilities. She does not have many abilities beyond the core abilities all Jedi possess, such as telekinesis (which she uses almost exclusively for enchancing her combat abilities), only force body, and very limited force healing, given time and concentration.

History: As with most Jedi, the parents to which Shir-Val-Kuul was hatched and her homeworld in general had little bearing on her life, as she was taken from them at a young age for training. For the first few years, there seemed to be nothing exceptional about her, but as the other initiates were taught to conform to the expectations of a Jedi's behavior, Shir was just a bit different. She was not exactly rebellious, and her instructors could not say at any point that she was violating the Jedi code, but her personality stood out from the rest. And, as her skills developed, it became clear that her interests were somewhat different as well. Whenever she had time to herself, she preferred to research weapons and fighting techniques. This was not terribly uncommon, and as long as she could display the wisdom and emotional control of a Jedi, she could learn to become a Jedi Guardian, but it was the kinds of styles she liked to practice which her instructors found interesting. It was not only lightsabers, but blades, staves, whips, and even blasters in which she found interest.

As time passed and Shir passed the appropriate trials, she was eventually selected as a padawan by a Togruta Jedi named Rohlta, who also shared somewhat unconventional interpretations of the Jedi code. In their years as master and padawan, Shir grew to adopt many of his philosophies. Although, as was common for her, she always tended to seek her own interpretations of her experiences. Her master promoted a degree of individualism within her that some of his fellow Jedi found worrying, but as she was able to pass each of her trials of knighthood without too much issue by the end of her apprenticeship, it seemed as if she was going to make a fine Jedi.

Through her time as a padawan, Shir had never stopped her training with weapons unconventional for a Jedi, from variations of lightsabers, to her own teeth and claws, and it continued well into her knighthood. It was a foregone conclusion that Shir was to be a Jedi Guardian, given her intense focus on physical combat. As such, her missions caused her to be quite active in galactic peacekeeping, especially in the Clone Wars themselves. She has been known for finding unconventional methods for overcoming foes and other obstacles.

Through her experience in the field, as well as her constant training, Shir eventually earned the title of Jedi Weapon Master, though her eventual choice of primary weapon was somewhat more conventional than most with the title. She found that using a dual-phase lightsaber gave her the most effectiveness due to its versitility, but even then she felt too trapped within a certain stye. Over time, she began carrying a shoto which she could use as a parrying blade if needed, as well as extending the length of her lightsaber's hilt for greater grip and control. Although, given the extent of her weapons training, she is capable of using many more types of weapons.

At present, Shir is between missions at the Jedi temple. Strangely for her, instead of her usual training, she is often finding herself in the archives, researching not some ancient fighting style, but the history of the Jedi Order itself.

I'll let you deflect force lightening but not absorb it like Yoda did, and even then no absorbing blaster bolts or lightsabers. Lets stick to electrical currents as they're not incredibly lethal. If that's okay with you... you're good.

Yeah, that's what I meant. She wouldn't use it offensively even if she could. It's intended to basically be the Force Absorb ability from the Jedi Knight games, so it doesn't offer any protection from non-Force attacks.

FOr lightening I'll allow you to deflect it into something nearby, random if you aren't thinking maybe a wall if you are.

In terms of telekinetic abilities they can usually be cancelled out but not absorbed in anything other than the games.

Yeah, I know. Literally absorbing doesn't really make sense in a more narrative-based context anyway - what exactly is a Force Point, and how does absorbing the Dark Side help with it?
