Clan: The Hotaru clan is a rather small and relatively new clan in Konoha. They specialize in the use of füinjutsu (Sealing jutsu). They run a small weapon shop in Konoha and as expected they focus mostly on selling many types of seals.

Appearance: Leiko is about 4 foot, 8 inches long, and a slender build. She has long blond hair to half way on her back that she usually wears in a pony tail. She wears a fishnet shirt under a black t-shirt, on top of that she has a light khaki colored vest. Akiko wears a thight black pants that reach to just above her knees.She wears standard black ninja shoes and has a pair of gloves that reach to her elbows, on top of the hand is small metal plate attached to the glove, with the konoha sign on it. Leiko wears her Konoha headband around her neck.

Leiko has two tattoos on her body, the first one is a stargazer lily with the flower on the palm of her hand and the stem wrapping around her wrist as a sort of bracelet. The second one is a small koi fish on the top of her left forearm. These two tattoos are actually special storage seals that only work with Leik's chakra, but they have been made to look like normal tattoos in order to hide it's secret. Leiko rarely shows these tattoos to other people outside of her clan, and always wears her gloves in public. The seal that contains the Nibi (the two tails) is located just beneath her right shoulder blade.

Biography: Leiko showed from a early age a eagerness to learn everything that related to being a ninja, just like he older sister (Kumiko) is. Who was a outstanding kunoichi as Leiko grew up, making her push herself harder in order to make her parents as proud of her as they were on Kumiko. Because of her drive to become better and learning whatever she could, her clan started to gradually expect more of her and hoped that she would become a even greater kunoichi then Kumiko.

Around this time it became known to the clan that then current heir (Kumiko) would be unable to be further the clan the way it was expected from the clan heir and so the title of heir to the Hotaru clan was passed to Akiko. A action that only served to increase the allready high expectations of her.
Leiko had started training to become a kunoichi at the age of 6, well before she would enroll in the ninja academy. By the age she joined the academy she was already able to perform several of the E-rank jutsu and was able to make simple storage seals.

When Leiko was 10 years old, her older sister Kumiko left their clan to live in Sunagakure. This event lead Leiko to despise her sister, which she had looked up to for a long time, and wants to become stronger then her and show her that leaving the clan behind was a foolish thing to do. Leiko's new found passion to become stronger let her to train harder and harder each day, pushing herself a minute step closer to reaching her goal. Nowadays all Leiko is looking for is new ways to improve her ability's and become stronger, she would be willing to risk a lot in order to achieve this power.

Personality: Leiko has been put on a pedestal for most of her life, by a clan which expected a lot out of such a young girl. Over the years this has lead Leiko to believe that she was better then the rest and thus deserved more. Now she has become a egotistical, stuck up brat, who thinks she is the most important person in the world and hardly gives anyone any real respect. But deep down Leiko is looking for a friend to share things with and to share a bond that she so dearly misses after her sister left her. Not that she would admit this to anyone, not even to herself (most of the time).

Leiko has a bit of a dubbel personality, mostly she is the arrogant brat as most know her, but during times she can be quick to anger and lash out to anyone.

Weapons/Equipment: Leiko has two special items in her possession. One of which is a wakazashi. The second one is a buckler which has special chakra absorption seals on it (see the seal list for more info). Which are sealed in the seals that are hidden inside her two tattoos. Besides that she carries around the normal items such as shuriken, kunai, ninja wire and exploding notes.

Chakra Element: Her main element is Raiton (lightning release), which she has a small amount of control over through her ninjutsu. Her secondary element is Katon (fire release), mostly due to the influence of Matatabi (the two tailed beast) over which she has no control over yet.

Speciality Leiko specializes mostly in close range combat with her usage of taijutsu and kenjutsu.

Tailed beast: Leiko holds the nibi or two tailed beast, who is named Matatabi. This increases her chakra stores, flexibility and speed. Due to her larger then normal chakra stores, Leiko's control isn't that great.

Fighting Style: Leiko fighting style is a mixture of several styles, of which she is planning to make a completely new style. While she still is far away of completing that, she has managed to fuse the different styles to a degree that it is effective (at least for Leiko). The following style are used in her fighting style: Her clans fighting style in using fúinjutsu combined with taijutsu or kenjutsu. The nintaijutsu style which belongs to the usage of the Raiton no Yoroi (lightning release armor) which increases her speed, reflexes and agility. The third style she uses is from the Matatabi, and it uses her natural reflexes, speed and flexibility (which were slightly increased due to the Matatabi).

Leiko is still far away from being called a master in any of these styles. If her mastery of the style would be ranked from 1/10 it would be as follows:
The Hotaru fighting style 5/10
The lightning armor style 2/10 (she will likely never reach it's full potential, since she lacks the physical strength)
The jinchuuriki fighting style 2/10 (it's full potential can only be reached in biju mode, and she is for away from even thinking about that yet)

Raiton:
- Raiton no Yoroi (lightning release: armor). (although she can't use it nearly to it's full potential, but it still almost doubles her speed, strength and reaction time for a short period of time).

füinjutsy:
- Storage seals: Leiko can make 3 different kinds of storage seals. First the basic ones that can be opened by anyone who is able to push a small amount of chakra in to the seal. The second one is a blood seal, which only respond to blood that is smeared over the seal (if she so wished she can make it so, that only a certain person or clan can use them). The third is a special chakra based storage seal. These only react to Akiko's chakra and are thus unusable by others. She uses these on the palm of her hand and on her left forearm in order to seal her sword and shield. Since they react to her chakra, she doesn't need to do anything but to push a little chakra in to the seal in order to unseal the items.
- Weight seals: Leiko is able to make 2 different types of weight seals. The first is a normal weight seal, which uses a small amount of chakra to increase the weight of items. The second is a gravity seal, which will make whatever is in it's effect feel as if the gravity has increased to several times the normal gravity.
- Chakra absorption seals: Leiko has 2 chakra absorption seals on the buckler she carries. At the moment she is only able to abosrb 2 D-rank jutsu or 1 C-rank jutsu worth of chakra before the seals reach it limits. If Leiko tries to absorb more chakra then the seals can manage, two things will happen. First the enemy jutsu is only weakend and still has effect on her (but in a lesser manner) secondly the seals will overload and cause a surge of chakra to her arm which could cause slight pain to the permanent inability to use that arm.
