For those who haven't seen the show, a group of (sort of) reformed criminals work around the law to bring justice to the victims of those that the law can't touch. They go after corrupt CEOs, politicians, anybody who hurts people, and give what they steal back to the victims of their marks. While we wouldn't use the exact characters, I figure the RP characters would have a similar setup. While the personalities of the characters can be very different, each member of the group needs to posses certain skills in order for the plot to work.

There's a mastermind- leader of the crew and a brilliant tactician, the only one really capable of bringing a bunch of criminals together to work work the good of others.
The Hacker- genius with computers, huge geek, capable of hacking almost any system
The Thief- safes, lock picks, crawling through air ducts, pick-pocketing, and most of all avoiding detection are the thief's specialty
The Hitter- the muscle of the group, if somebody needs beating, the Hitter is the one to do it. Expert in martial arts, military tactics, and and many forms of weapons
The Grifter- the con artist, someone who can convince even the most skeptical of marks that he/she is someone they can trust, quick with words and able to talk their way out of many situations (and into quite a few more)

You forgot one important archetype. I call it The Lawman. Basically the guy or gal who works with some law enforcement agency, tries hunting down the team at first but over time realizes they aren't really threatening to anyone and usually finds ways to ignore them in favor of taking the real bad guys. You know, like Sterling essentially.

The Lawman was nothing more than an asshole who looked the other way to use the team for his own personal gain. He should have been "accidentally" killed after the first betrayal.
