Hey all, I'll get a post up by the end of this week. Probably Friday. Finals are taking up most of my time right now.

I said my piece on the Google Docs about 2 weeks ago. Honestly, it's clear that RPG just isn't all that active and definitely isn't the venue to keep retrying Apocalyptica. If you really want this to have a chance I'd suggest going to an active and fresh community, because aside from a few core players, it just isn't the norm to have such energetic, passionate, and active members here at the Guild any more. Sure, Apocalyptica has always had its slow-going times, but y'all should consider that you need a active period to at least get proper footing.

Cool, I just really wanted to try to get this thing moving. I also might try a new Int. Chk soon after Zombie gives his thoughts over a PM then likely I will shooting each accepted PC a pm with any changes. I'm going to try to reorder and add more to the OP which I'll announce in the OOC. I know the Holidays and College will make things slow down, but if you can, check in and chat in the OOC just to let me know you're doing. An active OOC is always good for a rp.

Everyone's got a right to their opinion, but pointing it out or stating an alternative which asks for members to shift to a brand new site doesn't solve these problems. And it doesn't guarantee the rp will survive, this is about the 3-5 reboot that I know of, including several additions made by members over each one yet its still slow going. I've yet to find a pure, complete formula of total success to ensure every rp I make will fall out to the end. Currently the main problem is activity, a active GM, and few other snags. RP's not a job which requires you to put a hundred and one percent into it or to do it just to survive, it's a hobby and fun.

Going to a fresh community might not help much or even worse, get players that are more likely to go MIA more often then stick around. In addition, I disagree with your statement about chance just a bit. I know a small group of ten or more rpers who are active, enthusiastic and fun to have around in various rps, besides a large group doesn’t mean it’s the only way you’ll have fun. While I can understand your views, I feel a small group of 3-4 can have just as much enjoyment as a larger group because that should be the main aspect of role play no matter where you write, fancy code or bright outlay included. Your statement just feels like it lacks that belief and in true honesty makes me rather sad to read it.

As with all players, they have free will to come and go from the rp so if you feel strongly that staying on RPG isn’t for you, then feel free to make your way off screen. However, Apocalpytica will remain here and with some help and hope, thrive. If you would like to stay and want to help this rp, I suggest seeking out possible players to join Apocalyptica rather than suggest another site and only further spreading the emotions you’ve stated is currently happening to RPG. That, at least in my opinion, isn’t a solution but feeding the problem.

We can take personal disagreements to PM, but the problem has been the same in the last 2 incarnations of Apocalyptica. Before Prometheus ever had hands on this, when Dyscordia ran Apocalyptica, we had a thriving player-base that shifted. While some left, others regularly came, and while there were 2-3 other successful zombie roleplays being ran -- one by a group formed purely meant to maintain a regular, dedicated player base -- Apocalyptica survived far beyond. The shifting management has not been the death nail, however. Having been with Apocalyptica through all these shifts and managing it too, I know that the plot has actually become richer, the characters deeper, and honestly, Apocalyptica has slowly grown more and more into the character driven game Dys seemed to want. Despite building off the best of Apocalyptica, we still see it drudging at a painfully slow pace, our members still demonstrating the tell-tale signs of a lack of total investment and inspiration. Sadly, even Aweena expressed this feeling during the last incarnation.

The argument is not between another forum and RPG. It is the assertion that perhaps this apparently solid roleplay that experienced great success is suffering not because it's suddenly not so inspiring, but perhaps because this community has clearly changed, in some ways even depreciated over time. I understand your disagreement. I am very fond of this place too, actually. That said, I am fond of it for the people. What I have found is that some of the best qualities here are present elsewhere. The people I admire, for the most part, are also elsewhere far more than they are here -- if they remain here at all. There are exceptions of course. I digress, it should be considered that a measure of the challenge being experienced here and now may be beyond your or mine control and due to the forum-wide slow down. It would be disillusional to suggest things have not changed since GuildFall and continued to change after. This isn't about community pride. This is about the consideration that Apocalyptica could be successful elsewhere. Does it really hurt to even try?

Finally, as one of those who helped create what is being used here, I'm more than happy to help this open elsewhere too. My interest in Apocalyptica as a story being successful regardless of the setting. I think that's clear from my history and contributions to it over the years, so please, feel free to shoot me PM if anyone is interested in following or would like contribute to that incarnation. I tried beginning this conversation the Doc about 2 weeks ago, but with only Zombie taking the time to respond, it's clearly not a reliable way to communicate with those active here.

Very well, I agree to the not bickering on the OOC.

As for the rest of those, I don't know as I wasn't around during the every early reincarnations. I've been in since prior Guildfall, and even then the rp was slow going. Though from my first impression of you I thought you weren't an Apocalyptica vet, but just goes to show life can surprise you. Either way I can't stop you so I wish you luck as you're convinced this is the only way.

I'm poking at the CS and have a bunch of other projects going on, not to mention the site's been about as stable as a house made of straw. I'll hopefully have something to send you soon, just wanted to post in here so you know I didn't run off.

There are changes in the works on the CS. Still keeping the Narrative portion, but including some more traditional things now, as far as I've heard.

It should make things easier to keep track of and one that will lessen the narrative amount requirements, while making it easy to seek out key details. Also I'll edit the OOC later tonight when I am able to get on a computer, as well as reply to that collab too Tear. In addition, Zombie and Tear, I'll be putting together a GM Google doc to work on plots, skeleton frames for havens, groups and more that will give Players something to work with, build from and create some conflict. Sound alright?

Know the feeling, Jazzy, and still glad you're all still around. Zombie, Tear and me will work on the Int. Chk shortly for Apoc and try to get some new blood in, though with the holidays, I'm not sure how well that will go. >_>

It was one of my thoughts, though we can always make it and bump it through out the month up to January as well. That is, if I may ask all of you to help with that task as I might forget or need help because I hate double posting. Also, there's a CS format in the OP now which should make it easier for everyone. For those accepted, myself and the other Co/GMs included, I would like that CS filled out ASAP. Though it won't prevent you from writing within the IC if you don't have it done. :p

It should cut down on the narrative and help paint a better image of the PC.

I'll hopefully have something sendable soonish, probably with the new CS thing; I've been a bit bogged down with holidays. Have to admit though, I can see where the people thinking on bringing this RP somewhere else are coming from, with the Guild constantly being down lately and whatnot.

Mahz is also trying to fix it as well. And with the down time, the GMs are able to build up the world in the background and create the plotlines for the rp without forcing the Players to wait. So while its annoying, it's still not completely without progress.
