I've tried making a similiar setting at another forum, but died down~, and yeah, i'm that same person if you've stumbled onto me o3o
Sooo.... here goes... (And be harsh on your comments if you want :P)

Aincrad Online is a VRMMORPG with a map of the Tower that consists of 100 floors. Each floor have a landmass within, each with different maps, environment & mobs. To ascend or descend a floor, a boss mob of the floor have to be defeated. The higher it is, the harder the floor is (usually). The game is played using a Virtual Reality Headgear which simulates the 5 senses into the virtual world, that being sold out to 10,000 players. The game have an auto-learning function of English, and it isn't exclusive to humans. Thus, there're rumors of animals like cats, dogs or even pandas playing the game and talking to people~

The 1st and the seemingly last batch of players, will be trapped in the world, being unable to log out until they clear the 100 floors. (Or that they die, which they would die also in real life)

Oh, the real world? Its the year 2061, there're only 3 countries currently, Oceania, Eastasia, Eurasia. The warring era is known as the Dark Ages, which is mostly erased from history and unknown, only that it happened around the 2020s. And... the governments aren't as kind as how they had been back before the September 11 attacks~

I am definately in if this thing gets launched and can gain some interest. I have seen a couple VRMMORPG started but never really taken off. But will keep a watch out.

I could be interested in this. Would the game be strictly for mundane weapons like SAO, or would there be a magic system incorporated as well? Just things to think about. I don't really have a preference either way. Also, how do you intend to handle character generation? Will you have a list of attributes and skills that we prioritize?

wolfie: there would be a magic system, based on an attribute a person have. Everyone have an attribute, which on the contrary to what most players think as "random", its based on the one element that they're closest to most. For example: A bird who always flies have wind attribute, A person who lives in a desert will most likely have fire attribute. Magician can use magic of other attributes, though they would be weaker, especially the opposite elements. There're 7 main attributes: Fire, Water, Air, Lightning, Light, Darkness & lastly Earth (usually used as poison though).

There're 3 common jobs: Warrior, Magician, Archer. Everybody can use magic, though non-magicians would usually increase their killing power with the use of MP, instead of using the attribute due to higher efficency~

There are two ways one could take this. Either it's actually just better to raise MP, or raising MP is the lazy route and if you actually spend all the time to raise your casting stat you end up being able to blow through comparatively weak shields and easily block comparatively weak spells, even if you can cast less of them. Which is it, if you don't mind my asking?

But, no matter how big is the fuel tank, if a car is something like Pinto, the car wouldn't drive well. Sooo the damage comes from casting ability~

Right, that's what I wanted to know. Long hours of stat-grinding ho!

But yeah, definitely interested in this now. Would have been rather SoD-breaking for your casting stat to have less utility than the size of your mana pool.
