If I can be a bit of a pedant, only the secret-keeper of the Fidelius Charm can pass on the secret, it doesn't work if other people do it. That's why they had to give Harry a note personally written by Dumbledore so he could find Grimmauld Place.

Hmm, that could work. But I think that, being the only organization left to really oppose the Death Eaters, they would be a bit more careful than to do anything to "accidentally" give him - or anyone - the secret. The only way he could break the Fidelius Charm would be to have the secret given to him on purpose, or for him to see someone enter the Charm, and from the looks of it the manor is in a fairly wide open area, so I can't think of a way that someone could enter or leave the manor without noticing him long before they do so. Perhaps one of the younger, newer inductees gets a bit careless (and likely gets chewed out immediately afterwards by a more senior member xD) for a moment, long enough to pass on the secret?

If we go the careless new inductee route, I think Tanya would be perfect for that. I could have her exploring outside of the castle or something.

Also, I love how proper Albert is with living in this manor.

Oops. I knew that to be passed on verbally or written, but thought that it could be visually passed on by anyone who knew the secret - I had overlooked the fact that Harry, Ron, and Hermione had become Secret Keepers to Grimmauld Place when Dumbledore died, making it possible to do so.

@Doused, at this point if we go the careless inductee route, the inductee (Tanya) would have to be exceptionally careless, because the only option I can think of is something along the lines of:
Luther run up to her when he sees her appear, drops his wand/hand to her to show that he won't attack her (although since Luther excels at Muggle combat, he could just as easily attack her without a wand, not that he would in this case :P), and persuades her to talk to him. The Ashes, looking around for where that pesky Tanya has gone to, see this and run to us, assuming that I'm either attacking her or something, or she is passing on information, either event of course being very bad for them. When they arrive they decide to listen since I'm already disarmed, etc etc.

Of course, if we don't go the careless inductee route, I could just stand at the edge of the Charm with my hands up, and wait/hope for someone to come do something about it. But where's the fun in that? (Assuming they don't just let him sit there, until he is forced to leave either 1. to eat/etc or 2. so the other Death Eaters don't get suspicious of his absence)

This is true. I got out-lore'd... I may need to take some time to get over this :P

Now that the forums are finally up again...

I will be posting my Pureblood duelling/dark arts specialist from Australia sometime, if that sounds fine to you guys.

Cool! Looking forward to it!

@TheMaster99 - I would honestly prefer it if either Luther was already a member (even a new recruit) of The Ashes or if he was currently captured after being caught skulking around. Reason being that I was hoping to start the meeting which will advance the plot after one or two posts from everyone at max so there's mingling but not too much! Unless of course someone wants their character to go out and apprehend him when he stands outside the wards?

The only reason the charm was not secure after Dumbledore's death was because he was dead and everyone who had been told about Grimmauld Place after he died became a secret keeper. Then when Hermione apparated with the ministry worker into the zone around Grimmauld Place he was sort of told about the place.

Maybe you could be the first mission? Like you contact one of us through a weird channel. And we go to meet you ready for a fight but you're actually there alone?

Oh, look, the site's been up for more than two minutes! Huzzah!

I like that idea, Kirah, if TheMaster99's up for it. If you all wanted, instead of starting with a meeting we could be on that mission to begin with. Jumping straight into the action and all that.

EDIT - The other idea I had was that a new member to the Order could have kept a slip of paper with the location on it and you know, innocently give him it.

Wouldn't work if the note wasn't written by the actual Secret Keeper. Him making contact with one of the members of the Ashes - I'd guess Albert, but Jia's also a possibility - seems the most plausible.

Sure, that could work. Any idea what would be a suitable channel to contact you by? I don't think a patronus could bypass the wards, not could any other conventional method. Write an encrypted message in the sky maybe, Similar to Morsmordre? Too difficult for the stupid death eaters to understand, but not too hard for the Ashes to decipher with a little thought?

Well, the new member needs to have gotten in somehow, and if they kept the note that Ronan wrote for them it should work. (Especially since he rarely if ever leaves the manor and would only have been able to get newbies in via that method.)

Nothing saying we can't bend the rules of the Fidelius too, though! Who knows? Maybe the charm works differently in the AU, and that's how the Potters all died? ^^

EDIT because I got ninja'd in my own thread :C
- Well, we could do that then! We could even make a letter work if you wanted - the other wards would prevent unwanted magic like tracking charms or the Trace from following it inside.

Well how would I get the letter in? Charm it to fly over the ward and hope it goes through? If something that simple will work it'd probably be better to do that.

Jia would keep tabs on things both in the muggle world and the wizarding world. Given that she's probably at this point a pretty well known resistance fighter, knowing about her to make contact would be simple. As to how, Jia has a cell phone, one of those late-nineties pieces of crap. She doesn't keep the number much of a secret, half the Muggleborn Witches and Wizards in Britain would know it.

Although it's dubious if a Pureblood could really figure out how to operate a phone.

Hmm, I guess. Since you've already mentioned bending the rules, we might as well just let owls pass through. I'm not sure that they aren't able to in canon to begin with.

Tl, dr; owl it is!

Idea: Involved in a muggle born or a blood traitor's capture. You're able to convince said person into believing you want to change sides, so you help free them and they contact Jia for you via her phone.

Good idea, but that's one problem. If I help free them the death eaters would know, and I'd be compromised as a spy before I even became one.

I didn't mean be obvious about it. Like leave a window open or something. *shrug* (actually don't leave a window open I don't think that'd work)

Edit: Mostly I'm saying this because Kyle sure as hell won't trust you until you've proven yourself. And if you come into the Ashes with at least a good deed as a reference than he's going to be a bit more open to the idea.

It can be an NPC, too, that Luther freed a while ago? I presume if a supporter of the Ashes escaped then they'd let everyone know that there's a Death Eater on their side or something.

Well I wouldn't really expect there to be a lot of trust in Luther, for all they know he could just as easily be a loyal Death Eater that is under orders to infiltrate the Ashes and provide information to eliminate them - the Dark Lord did it with the Order (except he didn't know that Snape was really spying on the Death Eaters for the Order, not the other way around) so there's no reason he wouldn't do it with the Ashes. Because of that, I (or Luther, rather) wouldn't expect to be trusted, especially at the beginning. He'd be concerned if they weren't skeptical, honestly.

Regardless, I've thought of an idea to make your idea work, and could probably combine both that and the letter idea to make a solid solution. Basically Luther learns that there will be a raid on a Muggleborn's house, and he decides to go there beforehand to warn them so they can leave before the raid even happens. There's no evidence that points to Luther (unless they find out about his prior visit, but obviously he would hide this from them so they don't know), and in exchange they agree to pass a message on to Jia. That message being something along the lines of:

I have important information that the Ashes will want to hear. I will send an owl at dusk with more information. -L

This way, even if the Muggleborn was to rat on Luther in hopes that the Death Eaters may grant them pardon in return, they wouldn't have any conclusive evidence to give them, and Luther could play it off as a plot to trick the Ashes into a trap so the Death Eaters could capture them. This would only help to consolidate Luther's loyalty in their eyes, and he could simply hide behind a bush or something and attack them when the inevitable skirmish breaks out, which would also give the Ashes a better reason to trust him as well.

But for simplicity's sake, I'd probably just keep it to the Muggleborn heeding his warning and passing the message on, because the other possibility just makes things overly complicated (although the logic behind it would still apply to why the message is sent in two parts).

Soooo, from what I gather:

Basically, the RP'll begin with a meeting in which anything can be brought up, and Jia can say about the message then (or an owl can fly in). Would that work? I do want to get Luther in very soon!
