I think you misunderstood. Jig suggested Luther intercepting an owl and using it to deliver the message; even if the owl was capable of passing on the secret, it isn't a Secret Keeper, and wouldn't be able to do so.

Fair enough. I would struggle to justify Albert's attendance, but David would probably have a good feeling, which would sort it from that end.

Well, now that we have all of this sorted out (I think), when are we going to start? You said originally probably tomorrow or Sunday (well, today or tomorrow in Europe), is this still the case?

Is it worth starting an IRC room in case the Guild has a mini-crash so we can stay in touch? I would sort it myself but I'm on my crappy old laptop and don't want to argue with things I don't remember how to do. ^^

That, or add each other on Skype or something. That way we wouldn't need to worry about if everyone is on the IRC or not.

Mhm. It'll be late Saturday to wait for any more sheets but I plan on accepting character sheets for a while anyway (and I'm super hyped to start the RP). Sunday's just in case anything goes wrong etc.

I'm okay with Skype but just in case someone isn't, I'll look into starting an IRC or a chatzy or something in the morning. Night, guys!

Chatzy would work. I've never even heard of it until now, but it definitely seems like something we can use.

EDIT: Well I should probably go have dinner now :P, I'll check in periodically on mobile if any of you post anything. Other than that, night guys!

Night. I've just noticed, btw, that out of the five main characters, two are former Death Eaters, and two (Kyle and Albert) are likely to have views friendly to Death Eaters, where muggles are concerned.

Since part of Albert's 'thing' was that he was ultimately-good-but-a-little-bit-racist when I made him, but about half of the group might not actually be very different in this regard, can McHaggis, Kirah and the Master maybe give an outline of their characters' stances on muggles pretty please? If there's a lot of overlap with Albert, I'll re-jig him a little to make him a bit more distinct. :)

That's going to be an interesting state of affairs in character. Jia is going to be such great friends with everyone.

Kyle is anything but friendly toward death eaters, but yes old habits die hard. He makes a good show of not being racist though. For him muggles are people too even if he doesn't understand them. And when it comes to muggle born and mixed he's got no issues. For him the biggest thing is proving yourself battle capable and ready to protect those that aren't. If you aren't battle capable he considers you a victim waiting to happen, which at this point is basically his opinion of non magic users, and if someone is a non magic user but can prove capable of getting around it then he's cool with them. Ie the couple of weak magic but hand to hand combat people he's fine with.

Does that make sense?

Well, Ronan thinks he's better than Muggles (and there's no doubt in his mind about that) but he was only really openly against them as part of the Death Eaters so he could fit in, not that he had a problem with that. Now he really doesn't care whether they live or die, unless them dying is somehow bad for The Ashes/Magical Britain.

Muggleborns he's iffy with, because his own mother was one and raised him to be tolerant, so while he was with the Dark Lord he tried to avoid going to any of their homes, but he is definitely wary of them. He's been told repeatedly that many of them return to their Muggle families after schooling to tell them everything about the magical world so Ronan has a niggling fear that oh god they're going to cause a war that kills all of the witches and wizards they should be contained. But he needs them to help The Ashes so he's never going to say something like that, and ones like Jia have earned his respect.

I'm assuming Luther won't be too different as the most recent new guy so I'm probably going to give Albert a big old re-jig.

I don't think he really needs a rejig, but I'm not going to stop you if you want to. Both Ronan and Luther are half-bloods too, so Albert's different from both of them.

You know, I had somehow completely neglected Luther's incentive to join the Death Eaters until now, and consequently his stance on Muggles.

Luther, being a Halfblood, had of course grown up with a Muggle father, Arthur. His mother, Lucille, had hidden her magic from him until Luther received his acceptance letter to Hogwarts, and she had no choice but to tell him. Arthur was stunned, and soon "realized" that most of the bad things that happened to him were because of their magic (or rather, attributed everything to them instead of accepting things for what they really were) and grew increasingly resentful, and this left Luther with a poor view of Muggles. Him being sorted into Slytherin only further aided in his dislike against Muggles, as the children of Death Eaters indoctrinated Luther in the same beliefs that their fathers had taught them.
Shortly after returning home from his first year in Hogwarts, Luther was slapped for taking his wand out of his trunk by his intoxicated father, and in retaliation Luther set him on fire with Incendio, causing third-degree burns. He received a warning from the Ministry of Magic for performing underage magic, and soon after Luther and his mother moved out, and lived in Godric's Hollow for the duration of Luther's time in Hogwarts. Luther also adopted his mother's maiden name, Cunningham, in an effort to remove everything connecting him to his father. Immediately after finishing his final year at Hogwarts he became a Death Eater, and his view on Muggles remained the same until his sister's imprisonment. Not only did he realize that the Dark Lord was a monster, but he realized that just because his father was a terrible person, that didn't make all Muggles bad. Although at times he still has moments of Pureblood supremacy (old habits die hard), for the most part he has become far more tolerant and respecting of Muggleborns and Muggles alike.

I'll add all this to his bio for future reference, since it's something I should have thought of to begin with :P

EDIT: Also, Luther made an exception with his beliefs for his sister, for he cared too much about her to have negative feelings towards her. In his eyes, even though Muggles (and Muggleborns) were terrible people, there must always be good to go along with the bad, and Lilly was exactly that.

When I'm using a laptop I can comfortably type on (-.-), I'll do a re-jig. What I'll do is take him the other way: he'll be a big perp of positive discrimination, which means the women and muggle-borns get to look forward to be hideously patronised.
