Name of the Kingdom: Ostrovy
Current Ruler: Korol (title) Olav
Dynasty: Komvelovich
Flag:

History: The history of the kingdom is inextricably tied with the history of the sea.

A random storm blew a fleet of Wundish raiders to Ostrov (the Chernogravian island), then filled with anarchic tribes perpetually at each other's throats. The errant raiders showed political brilliance by swooping in to protect weak tribes in exchange for vassalization. When it became clear to their commander, a minor landowner named Konmvel, that he could establish political control here, ships were sent back to the Wund for reinforcements. Soon, the entire island was under his control.

Some generations later, the Wundish people had mostly assimilated into the indigenous population, but their shipbuiling technology and expeditionary spirit lived on. Yaroslav Komvelovich had heard of the legendary wealth of the great southern islands and coveted them deeply. He sent emissaries all over the Wund and Chernogravia spreading the word of his crusade and went deeply in debt hiring mercenaries. His men arrived in such immense numbers and rapidity that the islanders could not effectively resist and so in the course of a month, were largely beaten. Yaroslav's debt was paid off via looted gold and he now possessed the richest veins of gold in the world.

With the Ibalhammin yoke broken, poor freemen from across the "civilized" world (the three northern cultures) flooded into the islands by whatever means possible and began to smelt their living out of the rocks. It is said that Yaroslav's expedition is why the Ibalhammins hate the east and snow.

Traits:
~Web Breaker
~Ships
~Seaworthy
~Trained troops
~Good equipment
~Ports
~Good archers
~Trained in war
~Rich in ores
~Industry

Flaws
-Arguable vassals
-Overly powerful merchants

Claim on the map: The one up is accurate.

This is a vassal for the Northern Reaches. The vassal generator's a bit scary sometimes. I figure he's a very capable commander and champion for all the battles, trials-in-battle and etc. but rather controversial with the religion of the east, because he's a very cruel and horrible bastard.

I've thought up a religion which is something like Christendom with the exception that Angels are like a rather big family and they change turns ruling the world during each century. Its' symbol is a white rose. The current God is Cherubim, ruling in the era of Sagittarius. Oh, and there's something about the lines of papacy but with a worldwide brotherhood of Cardinals under the Seniority succession. They wield some formidable power and can annul marriages, excommunicate rulers, and call for crusades.

There's probably some paganism in Wund, but I'll hand it over to the Wundish nation-roleplayers for thinking it up.

Ibali'mmans are ruled by the vengeful god of sea and sand Vohamanah, who is eternally at war with the cursed rose of snow and stone of the east heathens.

Astiebese roleplayers can also think up some religion based on Islam or paganism.

ALL of you guys can add something new to the religion/lore canon. Don't restrict yourselves.

I was thinking about having the Ularid Faith mentioned in my history as TTL pseudo-Islam, with the Affadyqids following a more "evolved" version of the religion of the desert peoples (Kinda like Reformed Pagans in CK2). And several more minor religions spread through the Sultanate.

Also, are you using the CK2 ruler designer to generate these vassals?

Don't mention that game. I've lost far too much free time to the Game of Thrones mod for it.

Stupid sexy Lannisters, always whipping the kings.

Correct.

Wund is Nordic/Germanic, Chaleweil is Anglo-Saxon/Frankish, Chernogravia is Slavic, Ibalimma is African and Astieb is Arabic/Indian.

Sorry I've not updated Oren yet. RL has been pretty hectic the past few days, but all those schenanigans are over and I've a reasonable amount of free time for the forseeable future. Sheet should be done by tomorrow.

I may still join.

I was working on something before, and it drew some inspiration from Orlais in Dragon Age: Inquisition, but after looking through the sheets it's become abundantly clear I wasn't the only one thinking of drawing some inspiration from that. So I've decided to go for something more original, which means a partial do-over.

Don't feel bad. I wanted Vikings, but found someone else had already done it right down to the same traits before I had. :P

Meh, where's the fun in that? I mean, who doesn't love sending your young men and women to die by the thousands to paint a few more dots on the map with your color?

Being the nation hipster I am, I'm almost tempted to give up on Lythos and make some kind of mock-mongolian nation off in that little asian corner of the world.

Not because the Dothraki are awesome or anything.
